they are cool ooking engine, can't speak to their following in the olden days but I remember reading about people supercharging and reverse flowing them (inlet and exhaust ports are swapped) due to porting limitations.
@@WilliamMoser Wow, the story just hot cooler! I had not heard that one. Sounds fascinating. I just remember picking up an issue of Rod and Custom and quiet often, the caption on the pic of , say, a radical Model A pickup, or whatever would call out a nailhead, whereas, in the last 30 years, its always the homogenized small block Chevy, not to cast dispersion on SBC's. However, Here comes the LS motors now starting to displace the cast iron.

Mani had a 62 Buick skylark 2 door a year ago I bought for $300... still had the running nailhead 300? I don’t remember the cube size but it was a badass v8. Bone stock with a 2 barrel it’d smoke the tires with both gears of the transmission
Why don't people make videos like this...loved it great video...cheers...btw if you would do with a transmission with shifting and all...I would like know how that happens

close but not quite, Ford V8s have used three different firing orders (ignoring numbering and bank offset) the order shown here is the same as the Ford Flathead, Y block and Coyote, but early windsor is different and cleveland/late windsor is different to both. based on my transpositions, and using the convention 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 the firing orders are: holden/nailhead/flathead/coyote: 1 8 7 3 6 5 4 2 late windsor/cleveland/ford modular/LS1 : 1 8 7 2 6 5 4 3 early windsor/FE/lima/smallblock chev: 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
@@WilliamMoser I have since discovered that apparently the Lamborghini Urraco also uses a mirrored crankshaft arrangement, and in fact the same firing order as the BMW S65. Or at least, that's the only thing that makes any sense with the published information.
These are fascinating in how closely they replicate the actual exhaust note of the engines they represent, thank you for creating these!

bloody oath, v8 holden is kill
These sound good in the 5-7k range, it's the classic V8 Supercar series sound. I wonder if the Ford V8s used the same firing order.
The GT500 fires like this, only Ford number the cylinders differently.
I would pay to see a Holden V8 rev to 10K 😂

Absolutely love these videos, they sound fairly realistic, it’s a shame there’s not more engines to do 😅 think I’ve watched them all now
cheers for watching them all! more on the way

could be, I haven't transposed it.

R.I.P HOLDEN

no, 1 2 7 8 4 5 6 3

This is also the same firing order as the BMW S62, except the cylinders are labeled 1234 / 5678 instead of 1357 / 2468.
I have since discovered that the S65 uses a variant of this firing order but with a mirrored crankshaft, swapping cylinders 3/5 and 4/6.
