- This Whelen is at Warren Dunes state park at the south end of the beach. Warren Dunes SP has 3 sirens, 2 2800s and this 2900. The DC Cook sirens do 3 minutes of alert in April. Ok so now let me explain this video. We hiked to the top of Tower Hill to get an awesome shot of this Whelen, when, halfway to the top I happen to look to my left and see another Whelen, a 2805 about 200 yards from the 2905. I zoom in a little bit on the 2800 but stay focused on the 2900 most of the time.
2905 has a question. (because of the way its antenna is positioned)
Awesome video! I love seeing all these whelen videos!
I was literally just there looking at that siren!
When I saw this Video there was More than one Whelen going Off 😊
Okay. Two in 1. Now that's pretty awesome!!!! Sound card issues.
Cool 2905
I’m never swimming at the beach ever again - grumpy old man trying to swim
Where's the 3rd siren for Warren Dunes SP at?
At the edge of park property, near the campgrounds. The closest intersection is Red Arrow Hwy and Hildebrandt Rd. It's just to the W/SW of that intersection.
Nice background
Hey I might be visiting warren dunes state park over the summer. When are these sirens tested
for a tsunami warning
Someone answer me its bothering me so bad. Is that other siren in the sand?
No.
Right on the lakeshore!
When do these test? Are there any counties/systems nearby that you could get in the same day?
These go off 1st Saturday at 1pm. We usually do laporte before this, they test at noon.
Wow that is powerful!
Make me butch,stop stalking me
It was autocorrect stupid fuck
+Siren_Psycho if he replied to your comment using his phone then yeah, there is autocorrect
Really?
They have 3 sirens there. Two are in parking lots.
Question how far do you think theses sirens will go on the water?
Probably intended for the shoreline/beach and the mainly shallow waters. Most recreational craft, small crafts for example, could probably hear it, larger vessels would know of the danger beforehand.
Wait wait wait is that other siren legit burried under the sand??
emmaleigh Morticia no
How? At :52 it looks like it is buried in the sand and only the siren is sticking out
@@TheEmmaleighMorticia666 It's hiding behind a hill
Why are they so close
Better coverage of the area.
how far are they? not good at measurement just wondering
What month do they test in summer and what test time
And the rest of the sirens on the DC Cook system sound on the first Saturday of the month all year...
123dbc vs. 119dbc! Great video!
***** Depends on the controller installed with the siren itself.
Are both sounding off in this video?
Yes although #2 may have had a few busted drivers because it wasn't very loud.
Why would they place 2 sirens so close to each other?
better coverage
Pro Viper Ah! I see.
especially with a bunch of people on the beach they want to make sure everyone can hear especially in the water or the 2900 is replacing the 2800 but that is a small possibility
Pro Viper Oh ok I see.
R.I.P Cook Nuclear siren system. What a shame they had to pull the plug on it.
The nostalgia is real with this system. Going to the beach will never be the same.
Least it gets a nice view of the beach.
on a beach XD
Mentor-Headlands Beach has a FS Equinox sharing the same pole as a Whelen 2016.
Eric Wood I need to see that.
thats cool. i love beachs.
Well come on down to Mentor Ohio.
and i can hear a whelen vortex 4004
