- This E-Class is located in Washington Park in Michigan City, IN along with a 2001-DC across the harbor at the NIPSCO power plant. These 2 sirens are only about 2500ft apart. The E-Class replaced a 2001-130 which was moved to Briar Leaf Golf course in Laporte.
The EC starts out doing voice like usual, then voice gets interrupted when they send out the "alert" call for all the other sirens. The EC gets "confused" and doesn't activate for alert. I, thinking that the siren failed, decide to sprint 1/2 of a mile over to where I could see the DC. Austin stays on the sand dune and gets an ambiance. You can hear the Model A give a quick blast, which sounds off to warn people that the drawbridge is about to go up. I got over there in less than 3 minutes (benefits of being a runner!) Just in time for attack. Once attack starts, the EC screams to life (figures) along with the DC which has a broken rotator. Those 2 sirens sounded AWESOME echoing across the harbor in person, which the camera did a pretty good job of picking up. Finally, you might be able to hear another voice siren in the video. For example after the EC says "una prueba" for the last time, you can hear another voice siren say "una prueba". I'm thinking that this may be another EC about a mile down the shoreline at MT Baldy. The closest siren to there is the NIPSCO DC, and knowing Laporte county, they NEVER leave anything uncovered.
Some interesting points in the video:
- Voice right away
- 1:18 E-Class F-up
- 2:00 I make a decision
- 2:35 Model A fires up
- 4:36 Attack on both sirens
The E-Class is mainly used for voice, they can sound it for drownings, lost kid, lightning, anything that may require an announcement. The 2001 is just a general alert siren for the downtown area. (Which may be why the rotator is disabled, it points directly into downtown)
The echo in the Attack portion especially on the 2001 is epic.
The Model A in the distance does sound just like an F2...That thing must have brand new brushes and bearings, because it has to be pushing 12000 RPM's, which is extremely fast for an A...It could also have a blocked intake.
The wind down on the EC is deep! Love it
nice civil defence shirt!
Yeah, Where did he get a t-shirt with a Civil Defense logo on it?
It is good that the E-class goes into attack, remains at peak pitch for a few seconds, and winds down for the next cycle of attack.
Other electronic sirens wind up, and once they reach peak pitch, it winds back down for the next cycle of attack.
Uh, that second one you're talking about is called Wail. Modulators use them all the time.
+Quentin “Mod” Richards Uh-huh...
Giovanny Plascencia And attack tones for FS electronic sirens are custom
Dude, I've seen and heard the thing in person. There is even a video of it on youtube. It's a Model A.
Wait, this is in Michigan City? I've been here many times and never saw these!
I love when you guys show behind the scenes footage of yourselves. Like in the trailer vid.
Nice video!
Awesome how they sound and like the Model A sounds as well
ok you run lol
1:20 E-Class fails the rest of the talk announcement
The e-class looks like an ATI
It's a knockoff of it
Practically is one
It basically is one but it is louder
That makes a lot of sense! Is this in LaPorte? Where is the Model A blast?
Why didn't the DC rotate? Also where did you get that CD logo shirt? Can you link me to where ever you got it from? I need one now.
Chris, u have not seen the siren, me Tyler and Austin have, its a Model A!
This is in Michigan city, Laporte county. Model A blast is at 2:35
Is the I-Force 800 active for monthly test?
Where did you get a t-shirt with a civil defense logo on it?
The word "Confused" brought me here.
Do I hear peacocks in the background?
Looks like behind the scenes
Rotator must be broken on the 2001
Are e class loud in person
1:39. Why does the dude on the right look like Shawn Mendes slightly?
let’s run to the dc
ASC E-class is failed alert but it can do attack
I mean like what model, the one used in the first clip?
The 2001's rotator is broken
EVEN IN YOUR VIDS!!!! Why are ASC Sirens so close to 2001s
Was that a scanner you were holding up to your ear?
No that was my phone and I was talking to my dad. He thinks voice sirens are hilarious so I thought I'd call him.
+WarningSirensOfMichiana my dad and I have a joke about voice sirens. When I was 4, I drew a picture of a tornado siren with a speech bubble coming out of the horn saying "ERRAH." My dad made up this thing about a tornado siren being a creepy lady saying "Errah! Erraaah! There's a tornaaaado comiiing!" So when I found out that there were actually talking tornado sirens, my dad and I burst out laughing.
is the 2001 rotator broke??
What camera do you use?
Panasonic HC-V110 iirc
Wow.. that is one odd siren.
Why are the cones aimed downward?
Because I-Force didn't visit him.
Aiming the horns downward would only decrease coverage. Why Laporte? just why?
Do I hear.. a peacock?
That was entertaining! Lol
I thought that was the 2001-DC
No they don't. I've owned both an F-2 and a Model A, and the F-2 is WAY higher pitched than the model A.
That higher pitched model A
it sounds confusing becasue its spanish or italian or phillipino.
"Well then." 8:20
8:20
Weeping E-class. LOL
Panasonic HCV-500
Go home E-class, you're drunk
ok you run lol
