- This video shows "How to extract transponder sensor from Toyota key". This process is common for all Toyota cars which have non-remote keys. The Key used here is new G-Series Chip Key.
Instead of cutting down the middle. Cut the seam around the key. That way you can glue the case back. After you remove the chip. Just did this to my tacoma key. And just superglued the chip to the ignition barrel. And now i can use any key and it don't have to be chipped.
Did that really work? I have that issue and thought about the same . Where exactly do you place the sensor? In example, Like 12 o clock ,3 o'clock position? Considering the ignition is the center of a clock.
Yup once you have the chip you can just glue it into any keyfob and use it. I upgraded my tundra keyfob to a more modern one by doing this
@siddyskip transponder is a wireless contact less device which has to be placed near the key blade. No need to make any contact with metal parts.
Yes, You are absolutely right. I have recently uploaded a video on "Ford Endeavour Immobiliser Bypass" showing this concept. It is applicable on all the cars, where sensor is not soldered to remote circuit.

I broke the ignition ring immobilizer removing my dash. I have one off a donor car w matching key. Do I need to program it to my ecu?
I got a camry key with a chip made in about September 2012, I still have it and works fine, the key brand is Ilco, so my question is how long will/do these Ilco keys last? Thanks
We have seen that if the chip is battery less then it's life is more than average life of car but before that your key will worn out and you'll get a replacement key for yourself. You can save bucks by reusing the chip as shown in video.

@ABCDEFIHIJK chip is usually extracted when you want to make a flip key using old chip or If your old key is broken/worn-out and want to use the chip from old key in new key shell.

I have bought a flip key and want to put the transponder from old key in it once I cut it out (mitsubishi).Does the transponder only have to be located somewhere in the casing or does it have to be touching the metal of the new key ? Thanks

I did this today and it worked fine. After taking out the chip, I glued it into a little slot on the flip key shell.
