- If you are repairing your old, Worn-Out or broken Honda Key then you may use its existing sensor/transponder into new shell or key casing. This will not only save lot of money but you will also be not required to reprogram the key. Old transponder can be re-used directly. No re-programming required. Suitable for Honda City, Civic, Jazz, Accord, Brio, CR-V and many other Honda Cars...
You are the man you honestly just saved me $300 is in a tow truck to the nearest Honda dealership and the $80 fee to program the key thank you so much!!
good stuff. I'm gluing it to the outside of the transceiver on the ignition lol
Worked great! Took the chip and put it in my new key! Thanks for the tip
You can just hot glue the chip inside your steering column near the immobilizer halo ring that surrounds the ignition switch and just make a bunch of cheap keys for $6 at Walmart and your set for life.
Good instructions. I didn't have a vice, but followed much the same approach. I put the key down flat on some newspaper on a table. Holding the key down by the blade, I used a small hobby wood saw to make four cuts on each face of the plastic of the key, making a square pattern, as far away from the logo in the center as possible (where the chip is). It is not necessary to cut though the metal of the key: just the plastic. I then prised the square of plastic from each side of the key to expose the transponder. On the 1977 Civic I did this for, the chip is a tiny black cylinder (about the diameter of a match) inside a white plastic holder. I pushed the chip out of the holder, and inserted it into the holder on an aftermarket key. After checking it was working, I added a dab of glue to the holder, to make sure it did not fall out.
They were still using vacuum tubes in 1977
You sir, are a genius!
Thanks
Can I pull the chip out and glue/tape it inside the steering column area, inside the wire ring that normally goes around the ignition? Then I could just have a blank key cut, right?
Yes. That is correct.
Hi I have a 2006 civic key with the chip soldered onto the circuit board, is that also called a ID46 chip? Can I replace or clone this soldered chip to a id46 style? and if so can this be done with a SBB programmer? Thank you.
good idea since i'm thinking of replacing the old battered key i use for a flip key, but the duplicate key isued to us is exactly as the same as the original key so i feel it's a bit of a waste if i have to destroy it just for the sake of vanity. but darn it the flip key saves so much space in the pants pocket
Yes, this can bypass the immobiliser
By taking it out it can bypass the immobilizer?
Yes, Absolutely
All immobiliser chip or sensor are reusable
My car has this same key but i want to change my key to the ine with the buttons in the key shell can i put this sensor in that key
I had to you some tool that could cut a human in half to get to the transponder chip on my Mercedes keys!
Congrats! You now have a chip for your key, but no key!
Hi is the valet key chip is in the same place .
Hello sir, am using Honda Mobilio car.. the key broken. Whether we will change the same senor for new key
I suppose you are talking about Honda Civic Remote Key.
Yes its integrated with the remote circuit...
Took it out placed it right next to "reciever" just cranks.,getting fed up,any suggestions?
If anyone used a hair dryer or any heat source even momentarily to get the old chip out of the plastic mould you just cooked it and it will never work again. Congrats. Just happened to me and basically I'm fucked.
I want to install a remote start in my 03 civic, can I just tape one of my keys inside the steering column cover and get a non chip key copy to use? My 03 does not auto lock doors or anything so I think it would work. You think that there would be any issues having the chip always in the car?
+noel leonard there is no issue if you keep chip always in the car except it makes car vulnerable to theft. If someone breaks the lock then he can easily start the car.
H
what to do with this sensor???
Good main lucky key maker
I have 2003 honda pilot, I had to replace door lock that key would not open, got new keys then the ignition key got stuck, I got a bypass, with a used ignition, with one key it cost $65, the old key is taped inside close to the new ignition switch, it works just fine, my question is can a I have a fob made for my car. I don't have one, can I get one and program it, and if so what will it do? open the door? start the car? I still get the alarm red light not sure how all that works. I'm a broke female trying to do something myself that won't cost to much more money, Help thanks ill be checking for your reply.
Thanks
The honda symbol pops out of key and you can remove chip!! Lmao
🙂
In original key
It's not that simple
@@carflipkeys maybe there are 2 that look the same. My oem key is identical to the one in the video and symbol will pry out
@@carflipkeys is this the valet key?
the intent is good but if you had to destroy the old key to get the chip out then how do you get it into the new one? id like to add this too; if you want to save money on getting a new honda key, you still have to pay full price for the new key anyways bcuz it has the chip inside regardless if its reprogramed or not. you cant just be like hey i want the key but without the plastic doodad. doesnt work like that and even if it did, you still have to destroy a 2nd key to get the 1st keys chip into it.
You have a valid point
But most new or after market keys have slot to insert sensor and no need to destroy like this
Only original key is moulded and sensor fixed like this
yeah ok ill give you that one lol
idk if they are SUPPOSED to come apart or have an insert but toyota camry keys sure pop apart easily XD
I remember reading "Worn-Out or broken Honda Key"
Actually if you take the cylinder out of you car which you can do you get one from a junk yard or you pull it place and switch the coders inside the new one with the coders from your old cylinder I will work so you can use the same key that’s what I did the hell with paying 500 for a new ignition assembly
Could I switch to a flip key? I have a honda civic ex 2000
I was changing the battery in my key fab and lost my chip! Who do I call to get another chip?
I transformed my 2012 civic key Into a flip key..but the transponder is to far...if I remove the transponder from the valet key and tape it to the ignition would my flip key work?
+Benjamin Rosales No
That will not help
Instead take help of this video
ruclips.net/video/gWZ241Yzxxg/видео.html
You will get an idea how to resolve issue faced by you
+Benjamin Rosales sorry i missed the word valet. That can do but sometimes 2 immobiliser chip in one key can cause conflict
The video i sent earlier should work correctly
I also transformed my plain remote key of civic 2008 to jack knife key put remote in jack knife but green key light is blinking
I think immobiliser is too far from sensor present in my remote
What should i have to doo
CHINGOOOOOON.....
❤
So this does work? I have to switch my ignition and l.dont want to have to pay to reprogram the keys
Yes. You just hot glue the chip near the immobilizer ring that surrounds your ignition cylinder inside your steering column and then you can make as many $6 keys at Walmart to use on your car.
If I extract this sensor from my 2004 honda accord and place it on a honda accord car key fob, would this allow the car to start the ignition ?
Yes
the chip only works for the one car it was ment for if thats what your asking
Jordy peña nope u need to transporte the key sensor code whit a program reset the ecu
Cichlids pimp. No you don't. That's why you transferred the chip.
You carnt overwrite it once it's programmed it has five rolling codes and one ignition code that only work on your car and be careful around sources of heat like apoxey or superglue car body filler as these will harm the chip and either stop it from working completely or make it only partly work intermittently. I put resin round a chip to protect it inside the key head and I had to remove it from the key and place it right next to the ignition just to get it to work as it knackered the chip a little .luckily I got rid of the car to the scrap man so it was no longer an issue. If you use a cheap replacement key just check for a red tab on it on the opposite side of the key is a tiny hole so you can push the red tab ( chip tray ) out with a very small flat head screwdriver. And if it's a transponder fob check there's a space for the chip there normally is .sometimes the chip is a glass tube in this case your normal chip won't fit into the place of the glass tube .I've fitted chips in the normal valet key before now by just drilling a space with the right size drill bit just take care not to crack the plastic then place a small cut off of plastic inside on top of the chip before you put your glue to plug the hole this will stop most of the heat getting to your chip .
Either to repair old key by using its chip in new key or to make a flip key using that key...
Hope this helps
This seems silly compared to just buying a bag of blank ID46 chips and just adding them to the car (which can usually be done by the owner).
This is obviously a way of doing it without that procedure. Not everyone has a device to program a new key.
I think it's worth noting that this doesn't apply to all Honda keys ... maybe just the ones without remotes? In my 2010 Civic the RFID transponder was built into the remote, no digging through plastic required.
Yes you are right
Here in India, it's common as Honda gives one remote key and other is non remote key
Yes it's work on all u just need to know what the hell u are doing I've been doing this for years
@Dustin Wildman you will have need to do that to your vallet key if you want to transfer new chip to new key unless you want to pay for reprogram.
@@carflipkeys Same here in the US. You get a FOB (remote) key and a gray Valet key. But, if you want a second FOB as a spare, you can take the RFID chip out using your method and transfer the chip to the new fob and have the blank re-cut.
Transponder!
Then what do you do..........
Thanks for the video!
Question, I accidentally microwaved my valet key for about 5minutes. I haven't tried it yet but is there any danger in the chip having been fried or sending a crazy signal to the car's computer? It's an 2016 Accord Sport CVT.
+Jose Gonzalez either it will work or not work.
I dont think it can damage car computer
Just give it a try. Do confirm what happened
gotcha. I haven't gotten a chance to use the key (I don't drive it everyday) I'm going to post to some Accord forums and possibly call Honda (though I doubt they will be of any assistance).
Thanks for the advice! and I'll reply back with the results.
I actually went ahead and used the key - no issues. Just in case anyone encounters the same issue. Thanks for your help, either way.
lol how did your key end up in the microwave?
@@josegonzalez570 so microwave the key to bypass the immobilizer?
💯🔥🔥
do honda city 2014 base model also have this kind of chip?if not then can i replace it to flip key and also with alarm and remote locking system?
All Honda city sold in India after 2009 are with immobilizer chip. Yes this key can be converted to a Flip Key
thank you
So my key was no longer turn in the ignition. I replace the whole ignition assembly and everything installed it step-by-step got a blank key made a copy of the new ignition key put it in there turned it and it turns power to the car but does not start the motor how do I program the key
Forgot to make mention on the dashboard it does light of a green key flashing so I know it’s not reading the key properly that’s where I’m at I hope you can help but I hope you see this soon
Can we change to the new honda flip key with this version of keys and alarm system?
It depends upon which car do you have
thanks broo its a good video
How you unlock the chip?
Did not work for me,cranks but no start. Still stuck.
Does these sensors need any type of energy if yes then how it gets?
It works on Electromagnetic waves. It gets charged whenever we turn on the car.
Something like wireless charging
Flip Keys ah thanks for the information 😊
@@carflipkeys i lost my 2007 honda pilot key and got a locksmith to cut and program a new key a month later I lost the key the locksmith had made me but luckily found my original key but the car will not start with the original key but will turn over could it be the transponder chip needs charging???if so how is that done?thanks for any help in advance
🤔. You know that has a screw. Right ?
For what that sensor gave
why would you want to take the sensor out?
To hot glue the chip near the immobilizer ring that surrounds the ignition switch inside your steering column. Then you can make as many $6 spare keys at Walmart as you want!
Love
What is the use of this chip?
CIBIL SUNNY the car's engine wont start without it.
hi i have a question...
lets say i change completely change my broken ignition switch with a new one (with new keys given with it.)
once changed if i put my new keys into ignition and keep the old (programmed one ) near the key slot. Will i be able to start the car?
car: 2007 honda civic DX
im asking this becuase i do not wish to pay for the tow to the dealership if i were to change the new ignition myself on my driveway. This way i can just drive to the dealership to get it programmed with the method.
gos4 altair
also would the car stall once i remove the old key from near the ignition?
gos4 altair Did you try this?! this is my exact problem!! I changed my ignition, came with new keys and I don't wanna get it towed to get it programmed. did you tape ur chip near the ignition
i just use my valet key... i just put alot and alot of vaseline on the key and it working for about a year now
its of airwave yeah iam having it its the same
good ☆
My Acura is showing me a flashing green key would this work for me
no.
if the key symbol means what it usually means then no. the sensor isnt detecting the key anymore, you need to replace one or the other
You need to program the key to vehicle
you make my brain hurt eddie.
Alright if you Honda key isn’t turning the car on, it can be many things, fuses went bad,etc if you put the key inside the ignition and it won’t turn, ignition switch is bad and you have to replace the whole Assembly and get it reprogram at the dealership. if it turns and it won’t start. start by checking all the fuses. People don’t check the fuses.
I hope someone out there has some advise watching this video.
I recently had issues with my 06 Honda CR-V and had to switch the ignition switch and received new keys with it
Unfortunately the keys can’t turn on the car since they don’t have the ID chip the original key comes with.
I have the original chip on a new key a locksmith made for me to fully turn on the car. I was just wondering, is there any way to make an extra key for these Honda crvs without that chip? Or am I completely fucked if I ever were to lose the key?
How to brutally destroy your Honda key fob case to remove the sensor/transponder.
Theach me how to eliminate the trasponder system of all kind of hondas..........i know u can do it.........don't to by pass it....to eliminate it!!!!!!!
No sound .
well, first---no audio, second : you don't seem to ANSWER ANY of the viewers questions!!!!!!!!
It's not Sensor it's called Transponder
and the point is?
