I’ve had the same snap on guy for almost 10 years. His service is top notch. He will meet me anywhere I need if I need something.
The reason they can’t come to you outside their area is because they actually have to purchase the route. So it’s like taking money from someone else

The guy in my area literally will not come to my shop and won't tell me where he is gonna be so I can go meet him! You would think snap on would care if their contractors were not servicing shops in their area. But they do t seem to.

40 years ago I worked at a boat yard. No snap on dealer was servicing them .Called Sanp on got a dealer to come down. I purchased some tools a nother guy purchased a lot more than me
The guy who was purchasing the most tool had taken 2 weeks off.
The snap dealer said he won't be coming back for 2 weeks till the other guy returns. That showed he did not give a dam about the other 3 guys that worked therr

Service sells… sounds like there’s no service so you take business elsewhere.. like previous comment when you have Amazon at your fingertips or harbor freight Home Depot you can order so much!

    PUT YOUR DAMNED SEATBELT ON!
    Ok sorry couldn't resist.
I used to really dislike Harbor Freight because back in the 80s/90s I had been burned by too many crappy tools and HF just seemed like yet another crappy tool pusher. No thanks - especially when we still had Sears and USA made Craftsman tools.
BUT recently I started buying more HF tools and I'm quite impressed. Everybody says "Be smart when you buy from HF" but no one ever defines what that even means. I'm not a dummy but sometimes you try to make a good tool decision and still end up with a turd. It happens. I'm also not a pro so I don't need the "absolute best" - but you know, there are plenty of people that talk about breaking even Snap On tools. So what does "best" even mean and which one is best?
I now LOVE Harbor Freight and can't go in there without picking up something I need. I wish more of their stuff was higher quality but they're getting better and better.
One tool company I've also grown to really like is Kobalt from Lowes! They've got comfort grip pliers, crescent wrenches, vice grips, and more and they're damned nice tools at a very affordable price. Certainly not the cheapest but better than many of the other brands out there and having used them, they're awesome! I'm kinda surprised at how many Kobalt tools hit that sweet spot of price, quality and functionality that I'm looking for. Getting 3 sizes of crescent wrenches for like $14 is amazing and having used them, they're fantastic tools. Same goes with their vice grip pliers and other tools. I'm now a HUGE Kobalt tool fan - and most of them have lifetime warranty also.

I have a lot of kobalt tools! I like them. When you buy snap on tools, they break just like the others, but the tool truck should stop by regularly to warranty those things. I spent thousands of dollars over the period of 20 years building my snap on tools up and having to mail them back and forth or drive out of my area to get a different guy that runs a snap on truck is absolute BULL SHIT!

@@Wrenchesandrods- I feel ya on that man. I'd be super pissed if I were in your shoes. Corporations are strange beasts and after so many years in business, lose their way. Also they're getting serious competition from HF's ICON brand and "bring it in" warranty. People are waking up and realizing what they thought was insurance in a brand name isn't that anymore. Same goes for HF but when you spend less on the tool, it makes it a little easier to accept. I guess we should all just enjoy working on our vehicles while we can before they take even that away from us.

Sorry you're having that experience ,makes me appreciate how great my guy is. A quick text and he tells me where he's at if I need something before my regular day. He also stops at one man shops and farms in the area. Absolutely top notch.

@jontnoneya3404 when it's all said and done; out of Snap-On, Mac, Matco and Cornwell as well as H-F.....at least one if not two suppliers will be gone

That really sucks!! Sorry man! The dealer can make a break the sales thankfully I have some nice ones in my area, but God forbid I moved somewhere else and I get a shitty dealer. Maybe you should become a dealer

Amazon, Tekton, Gear Wrench, etc. exists... Who needs Snappy anymore?

Well, beings how I own thousands of dollars worth of their tools you'd think they would make it a little easier to warranty them.
