    I recently purchased a Autel 808S told it can detect Stop/Start issues. Found that it doesn't and also found it won't detect various sensors. I only paid $469. And plan on selling it. It's been 9 years since I retired from the automotive field. Looking to buya Snap on scanner. My last great scanner was a Snap on 2500. It gave me many years using it for diagnostics. But it no longer could keep up with progress. I really like the Solus!!!Just want to get thebest price and able to put down a good amount and fiance the rest!! Thanks John

      With the same update, they will both give you the same information, at least, bidirectionally, scanning wise, if you’re talking about speed, this one would be better!

    Can this scanner do everything that a Chevrolet dealer can do? I have a driver mode enabled on 1 remote without knowing the pin to reset it.

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  8 месяцев назад +2

      I can’t promise it will do everything, but every program, relearn, and function on the scan tool has been purchased straight from the OEM! If you want to know, specifically, ask your franchisee, and he can check our application guide for specific tests

    Snap On scanners are nice and fast. But Bang for the buck they missing a beat I have a Zeus Have Autel have Lauch Throttle 3 all great scanners. I say Launch beats everything bang for the buck. But Snapon scanners are fast. Suretrack is not needed for those who know what they are doing. Sure Track is for those that like to guess. Great Video

      I got a topdon phoenix lit 2 for $700 on amazon. It doesn everything the zeus will as it can use a scope, and battery tester. The only thing that snap on does that no one else does is simplifies everything. But its not worth an additional $5000 in my opinion.

      @@SnaponToolsJosephHull for the price I can get all these 3 i mention, I use the snap on for data list and clearing codes, it’s great but for active test it lacks, bringing the window up and down is not a plus from snap on, it’s sad i had to ask people in the shop for autel , when they paid like $500 for it

    I bought a solus it was great till I updated it and then it became the worst scan tool in the world I could not even get into the cars I previously could I had several updates after that and it just got worse

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  8 месяцев назад +1

      What’s going on with it? Slowing down? Locking up? Sounds like a memory issue. If you use your scan tool multiple times a day, it creates a log in previous vehicles, every once in a while, you should clear the cache and it should speed your scandal up. Probably has nothing to do with the update, just unfortunate timing!

  • @tomhague8018
    @tomhague8018 Год назад +5

    It's junk if it ain't wireless it's not worth it plus you pay $1200 a year for updates which most other brands give you a 1 time yearly subscription around $150 to 500 for better updates and most have internet Google to web browse I will never by a snap on scan tool again,period

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  Год назад +13

      Solus updates are 650$ PER YEAR
      Not wireless so you can get faster info+charge off vehicle
      I’ll challenge you to find a less expensive update, that has more info. We pay the OEM for our data, so we know it’s legitimate.
      No google on the solus= no virus or programs slowing the tool in the background. Time is money sir, if you can afford to waste it, I respect that, but don’t agree.

      So I tried that solus + and you can’t do ocs resets for pass front seats my dealer and the product guy from snap on said that’s true because snap on has to wait for Toyota and other manufacturers to supply them with that info and that’s bull because you can do resets on all manufacturers with topdon think tool Autel it’s a scam from snap on to sell you a tool that says + all your getting is a Wi-Fi added and shop stream and they don’t even include the tsb section it’s a code reader for $3500 it’s a scam from Snap-on

      You must not be a mechanic then or you’re an hourly tech. I recently bought this scanner and it’s hands down faster than any other scanner in the shop. I’ve used it all day everyday since Friday and been turning my diag jobs in about 10 minutes plus quote on parts. No actual tech cares about it having google, that’s why we have laptops or shop computers with all data or Mitchell. It’s also only $46/mo I believe for monthly subscription plus 6 months of free updates. It also can reprogram and/or relearn modules where I know autel cannot do. I paid $2900 out the door for my solus plus with no trade in.
