      That's not how things work. I am a dermatologist, and I can assure you that there are no clear guidelines yet regarding the safety of dermarolling at home, and thus doctors will be providing subjective advice from their own experience. Dermarolling absolutely carries its own risks, and so some doctors will prefer to stay on the safe side and advise you to get the procedure done in-office, while others may feel it's relatively safe to do at home. We absolutely see disastrous outcomes of DIY dermarolling in practice. It is a matter of opinion, nobody is either right nor wrong here.

    I did the opposite. Ive been spending $1000's on 4th-5th gen equiptment and only just bought a 0.25 derma roller last week. The effects of DIY have surpassed all my experience at the beauty salon. I had nasolabial folds that no equipment helped much. I started dermarolling, with a diy high dose marine collagen drink twice a day with high dose vit C. The results were dramatic in 1 session.

      This is awesome to hear as I’ve been looking into Morpheus8 treatments, but was wondering just how much more effective they really are.
      How much marine collagen and vitamin C were you taking? Thanks

And another 2 heaped spoonfuls of Q10 collagen mixed in with my hot coco before bedtime. It may be ovekill, but the results are a lot quicker than using sparingly.

      I have mix of ice pick, round, box like scars on my face. I purchased dermastamp for microneedling. What should be used:
      1. before stamping to clean dermaroller/dermastamp and face?
      2. same day on face after stamping/microneedling session?
      3. next day onwards after the stamping/microneedling session?
      4. Can we use Retinol/Tretinoin, Vit c, Hyaluronic acid, Glycolic acid, icing, collagen supplement etc. next day onwards after dermarolling/microneedling?
      Please recommend generic products instead of something that I can get only with a certain brand.
      You can suggest the brand along with the generic product.
      Thanks in advance (:

    I bought a set containing 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5mm needles. Haven't used them yet. After they arrived I read some horror stories and negative articles which really scared me. This video puts me at ease... but I know safety is key. I think the horror stories come down to the following: people are opting for deeper needles, using them way too often (my kit even says "use 2-3 times a week") and poor technique (applying too much pressure). People are doing all these things in the hope it will provide them with the amazing results they've heard about, but they're actually damaging their skin, and then further damaging it by not allowing the skin ample time to heal, which is the basis of the treatment to begin with. I will be opting for the shortest roller in my kit and leaving ample time between treatments. We are taking a risk by not having this performed by a professional - but I really appreciate this frank and informative review so that I am better equipped.

    Thank you so much! I go every 3 months to get a retinol chemical peel. I did one treatment of microneedling. The price was $150.00 half off at the time. I went to dermatologist last week and asked about another treatment. The cost is $250.00. I was going to do it but will try this first. I purchased a package deal at Christmas for Botox and 2 retinol peels for $450. Last week I got retinol peel and botox. It cost me $400. They were running special $10.00 per unit. I felt like I paid a bit too much because I prepaid at Christmas for the retinol peel. I love doing the retinol peels and the results I get from doing them. Love your youtube channel. Will you do a video on retinol chemical peel please. 😊

    Whoa - first time I've heard of the term "single use only" for derma rollers, even from doctors. You think that is true for all derma rollers, even the really high quality surgical steel ones? Gob-smacked. Also confused now about about the number of needles; I'd heard (from what I think is a reliable source) that the rollers with a greater number of rollers - 542 is usually cited - as being more like small, individual knives rather than individual needles. Hoping you have time to comment...thanks in advance.

      Yes, .. more the better, but one use- why? Because needles or even disc get blunt. That is why we have Botox drawn in many syringes not just one, because needles blunt with each 'event' DL

    Hi Dr. Lim.
    My skin is able to tolerate full strength *organic rosehip seed oil* . My question is after I derma-roll, can I apply the rosehip seed oil?
    Also I make my own combination of carrier oils with essential oils added, using certified organic ingredients. Can I apply those also or do I have to wait a couple of days?
    Thank you so much!

    • @angelous7774
      @angelous7774 5 лет назад

      Essential oils are a big alarm to dermatologist they can potentially create a bad allergy reaction even after years of constant use. It happened to me. Be careful and mostly stay off fragrances even if those are super duper 100 percent certify organic.

    • @luv2travel2000
      @luv2travel2000 5 лет назад +1

      @@angelous7774 Thank you for your comment. The rosehip seed oil I use is a carrier oil (like almond oil) and not an essential oil. Essential oils I always dilute with a carrier oil and mostly use a 1% dilution.
      Rosehip seed oil is high in vitamin A and helps to build collagen, as I'm sure you are aware.
      My thinking was that the ingredients in my face oils would go deeper into the skin after derma rolling. But I thought I would ask. :)
      Which essential oil was harmful to you after you had used it for a long time?

    • @inspiredby624
      @inspiredby624 4 года назад

      Please don't put essential oils on your face as they can be a major irritant and *never ever* put them near an open wound like the ones you get from derma rolling. I'd also generally avoid anything fragrant while the skin is damaged after a procedure like this because it makes it more sensitive so you could react to something that's fine otherwise. In the case of skincare "unnatural" products can actually be healthier & safer than natural ones :)
