Hi Chris I'm in my mid-50s and I've been doing a lot of skin care things over the years and people think I look younger although not as young as you do. The one is sure I'm having is the bags under the eyes sometimes I have them sometimes they don't and you'd mentioned derma rolling is good for that I had only done during a couple of times under the eyes and they blew up and I don't know if that was just a reaction but you had mentioned in the video that it was good for under the eye bags could you please expand upon that for me if you don't mind. Is there a certain methodology and how does the actual action work does it tighten the skin enough to not allow the expression of fluid to build? I'm sure you're busy but if you have a moment I would really appreciate that. Thank you Michael

Not all skin experts agree about short needle lengths being the only at home option. Dr. Abs says you can use 1mm once a week, which is what I have been doing.
I haven't had any problems over the past several years of microneedling. My middle aged skin has some great glow and is very smooth considering my age.
Yes, there will be a little more pain versus short needles, but I don't mind it.
I will wait half an hour after needling then apply my Cosrx Snail Essence, because it is soothing. Injecting foreign substances under your skin at 1mm can possibly cause granulomas, so I do not put it in on before microneedling, only after.

It's been about six years since I tried a derma roller. Started with .5 and was shocked to notice visible results in my acne scars after just a few times. I actually noticed a difference after one use! Yes, one use. Hard to believe and certainly not a realistic expectation for others but that was my experience. I did not use any special serums. Cant recall exactly but was using the Ordinary Buffet at that time so probably put that on post roll.
For many reasons I discontinued doing it after a few times.

I use Hibiclens anti-bacterial soap on my face and let it sit for about 10 minutes. That is after I have already washed and exfoliated. Then on top of that I put a 5% lidocaine cream on my face and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then I wash all of that off and put some serum on before I start using the needles. Because of the lidocaine I can barely feel the needles. Like you did, I always put serum on after I do the micro needling too. I will put a fresh pillowcase on my pillow on the nights that I have done it just to make sure I don’t get infection.

The one thing you'd not mentioned in your video & thought you may want to know about....
Is while rolling, your supposed to lift the roller at the end of each stroke.
ie; you make your first roll (let's say up) as soon as you end that roll one's to lift the roller before rolling down.
And of course with every other direction.
Otherwise it's been described as Dragging the roller across the face, or whatever area being worked on.
Something I'd heard from someone who did it professionally. 😶 eh!
Maybe the person is wrong, but due to the fact it was something she'd done for a living, I figured she may have a point.✌

I used dermarolling for 15 months. I started with .25mm, progressed to .5mm, and eventually got to one full mm. My skin color improved, but other than that I had no real change in the quality of my skin-certainly no anti-aging improvements! The 1mm dermaroller did cause bleeding, and I thought that with that “injury”, at least some collagen would be produced.

    Chris 🍑
I absolutely respect your opinion. I think we are so afraid of aging as a society that many will do things that are simply not safe or good for the skin. Unfortunately we see so many issues with derma rolling. We see scars , track marks and bacterial and fungal infections. I think the Biggest thing is to NOT do this at home. So many do not care for their skin properly and then do this. When we tested them we also found that the skin was Injured, yes and it swelled up and you thought the wrinkles or problems were gone when in fact once the swelling went away the issue was still there or worse. Also antioxidant skin care or small batched will penetrate the skin. Examples Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, , and bad things like chemicals in water. There are simply to many other natural things you can do for their skin that work beautifully.
I always appreciate you allow my thoughts and I welcome you to come over and share yours on my channel. I hope I never disrespect you and I love we have a passion for what we do and for skin!!

I tried a .25 (cosmetic level) dermaroller and it’s not painful at all. I haven’t tried the larger needles. But I have a question. It is said to avoid mechanical scrubs as they may cause tiny tears in the skin. I used for years and think I have definitely had a benefit but stopped due to the cautionary advice. But why is poking holes in your skin better? If poking holes signals damage and collagen generation, would’t the tiny tears from mechanical scrubs also generate collagen production? It seams contradictory and hope you can help with this question.

How many uses do you get out of that, approximately? I do not see that you can buy replacement rollers but must repurchase whole device.

Would it be ok to use a calming sheet mask after dermarolling ? I have some " Pyunkang Yul " sheet masks that are soothing, calming and very hydrating.

I don't get why everyone is complaining about tretinoin being irritating. I use a 0.1% mix, even after micro needling and it's not that irritating. In fact I use it all around my eyes and I'm not iritated at all... I must have some thick skin on my face......

My question is can radio frequency beneficial before, or the days following the derma rolling, or micro needling?
The same question about the MEDICUBE device?
I really have come to value your advice, and would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this topic.
Thanks, and Keep up the great tutorials.

This video was sooo informative! I bought a microneedle that looks just like yours about 6 months ago. Your video confirms that I've been using it properly. I always disinfect it with alcohol before and after. I do have a question about disinfecting it.
Do you spin the roller to get the excess alcohol out of the device?
I've been doing that, because there's always some residual alcohol inside the discs/drum and of course it makes it burn a little if the roller isn't dry-ish.
Thank you so much for your videos! They really help us so much! Happy New Year!

I always use a dry roller. You're right that the rubbing alcohol would be very irritating

I put my alcohol into a spray bottle and I spray my dermaroller both before and after using it. I also keep mine in a ziplock bag, and in the fridge with my other skincare products.

Hi Chris, As always I really enjoyed this content. I do have a question though. My skin does tend towards scarring. I don't know if this is enough of a "wound" to cause a problem. What do you think? Thanks for your assistance. All the best for the new year. 🤗
