to be honest, when I was playing freelancer i was expecting to at least have the alternative locations from the bonus missions, special assignments and patient zero, adding that would've been a piece of cake for ioi, everything is in place already
I really really hope they give hitman some more love before stopping updates... Freelancers was an excellent addition to the game and I desperately want to see the map variations (maybe a new one??) In the base game.
based on the fact they switched the name from hitman3 to hitman freelancer i assume this is the game theyre going forward and supporting as 'the definitive hitman game'
I really want it to mix it up with the objectives. Like the following: -add things that need to be collected or destroyed as part of the mission -NPCs that aren't targets but that are carrying objective items, or targets that are optional as long as you get the thing they're carrying. -NPCs that need to stay alive or you fail the mission. -Targets that can flee if alerted, or have a scheduled exit from the area (you could then rig a car to explode, for instance)
@Adam Oliphant, Your idea's would just make the game boring since every mission would then be exactly the same, Freelancer was specially designed to make it harder for the player since it added more enforcer's, gave them slightly increased awareness and made them hit like a truck, They also added assassin's which I think was a perfect touch since the syndicates know that they are being hunted unlike the campaign targets who were all too easy to kill. I beat the full game SA/SO on the hardest difficulty and zero fails.
@@ScaroBloodblade There is no way that you beat every mission on master with SA/SO without any restarts... Unless you mean like as a speedrun that you practiced, but you made it sound like it wasn't.
@@bread9849 I learnt each map as I played on normal and pro, I knew what I needed and I knew which challenges to do. I don't do speedruns since they are boring. I never need to restart unless I forgot to put on my lockpick but that was a very rare case since my load out always consisted of the silverballer, lockpick, fiberwire and coins.
@@ScaroBloodblade There's some maps that I don't think it would be possible to do on your first try without serious route planning... like Colorado, Bangkok, Sgail. Also you would need to practice on master mode, not just pro and casual, in order to know where the extra cameras, guards, locked doors, and enforcers are.

No deaths of non-targets and the camera's are the first thing I take out, I know all the locations of the control rooms. Bangkok and Sgail are big maps yes but the targets do have routes that are easy to figure out.
They talked about why the maps and NPCs are in the state they are in in a devblog. Essentially with the resources available it was either heavily re-tool a handful of maps to be lore friendly and fresh. Or make it so almost every map is an available location with more time spent on the safehouse and systems of gameplay. Hopefully we'll get some updates in the future but it was a hard choice for them to make with the constraints given to them.
I actually remember this answer from a previous dev diary, they can't remove them because they interact with too much. All the carefully placed NPC pathing would collapse if the targets who they all revolve around disappear. I recall one dev saying they can't imagine trying to move anyone in Paris

Splendid stuff, I've been holding out on getting Hitman 3 because of its price (I already own and finished the first two) and I'll be getting this mod as soon as I buy it. As far as I'm concerned this is a requirement to make the mode less monotonous.
Hitman 3 is definitely a game where I only want the base game content because all the DLC is literally shit that I'll never play and will go away at the drop of the hat if the servers are ever shutdown. The DLC for the first two games of the trilogy are better because they had new missions with new targets and even whole new maps. With Hitman 3, it's all Escalations... and Freelancer, which is just RNG contract targets (Aka: not much different from what players have been making in the Contract Creator).
@@sybbes Point still stands regardless. Hitman 3 is a game with absolutely worthless DLC considering that Escalations aren't accessible when offline and when the servers get shutdown some day in the future.
@@Techhunter_Talon there's a third party server called peacock you can run from your own machine. the servers will never shut down if you're in control of them.
While having the story targets on the map may break the lore, but it can definatly create some suprising situations. I have hade my target being the guards of 1 of those story caracters a few times and becouse of that they were VERY mobile as far as there pathing and they were never alone so taking them out in a clean way was abit tricky some times. The time of day feature and different events going on that would be really cool. A mod that is very mutch needed is 1 that changes some of the Prestige objectives especially the timed once. Unless your a speedrunner then Hardcore mode is pretty mutch a none option when u VERY often se 2 out of 3 objectives being timed and the 3rd may be a SA. Without knowing your target SA in Hardcore is a coinflip if its even possable.
Same here playing on PS5. I don't get why IOI seemingly made the mode, threw it out there and stopped giving it any support after, even when a number of easily fixable problems or QoL changes can be made to not only keep the engagement but potentially attract more players.
@@totallyreyalfactsfsfs I am aware, and I don't fault them for wanting to focus on that project as given a license as big as 007 is a once in a lifetime opportunity. But I am just asking for small fixes and QoL changes to the mode from time to time. It barely had any significant changes from the beta version to begin with lol.
Really hope something like this gets implemented in the main game. I've tested it out and it's cool but I don't know whether I want to go back to the beginning after 50 levels of freelancer leveling.
@@ryanlee9869 Really? Is that if you use SDK? I played around with it a bit in Peacock, but that uses its own separate unlocks. I might give SDK another go if that's the case, I just couldn't get it to stop crashing when I tried it.

I only even heard about it once it hit Steam. And I owned the first two, along with all the old games, so I was the prime demographic.
Too bad it depends on the SDK, which notably reduces FPS in the game for some reason. -10 fps for me, others on nexus have mentioned up to 30 fps loss. Unacceptable unfortunately.
I was getting a bit bored with all the same npc's over and over, and was wondering when Freelancer were supposed to happen, before or after all the main missions since you state they (npcs) are all alive and well. But I had a bunch of crashes where and it was a fresh install of the game on a ssd, so for me having a few hours just vanish from a unstable vanilla game, kinda was the limit for me playing this. And having finshed the champain twice with everything kinda resetting like you say was also pointless to me to continue playing. So I hope both for a patch where they can fix the issues I have had, or that they see the mod and add these changes to the game. I am my self a modder, but for Minecraft java, so I too enjoy mods where most of the time mods add fun, rather than lack there of. Hope this mod bring a lot of players more fun, I am awaiting a patch so I can play without crashing the vanilla game.. Thanks for showing the mod! I might try it out some time.

I kinda wish the assassin's on alert and showdown maps wore stage appropriate guard outfits. As of right now they tend to be very easy to spot.

I'm on PC and I don't use this mod because the game crashes very often with it.
