Something SUPER important about the burner phones that wasn't mentioned in this video: it will Only summon suspects _with the same type of meeting as that burner phone_ . This means that if your target DIDN'T have that meeting type, they won't come when you call that burner phone. However, this is still very useful, as anyone who comes when you call the wrong type of burner phone can immediately be marked as not suspect. This was really useful for me in a Mumbai showdown, where doing this effectively knocked half the map's worth of suspects from my list.

      @@HistoryAndLore There's three types:
Business Meeting - Always ends with a handshake.
Handover Meeting - Always ends with the handing over of an item, pacifying someone with this meeting type usually (maybe always?) drops a grenade of some sort (I've seen Emetic grenades and I think letterbombs as well? not absolutely certain on the details of this one)
Secret Meeting - Is neither of these, the default if you see neither of the other tells at the end.

One of the tips I've learned is to invest your mercers in guns, even cheap guns you'll never use. That money won't be lost if you fail a mission, and that gun will basically be taken off the list of merchant and loot drops forever, meaning you'll be more likely to get better stuff going forward. I'll never use an unsilenced ICA shotgun, but if I buy it now, that's one less useless reward I have to worry about.
Nothing worries me more than a fat stack of Merces in my pocket, waiting to be lost on a failed run.

Honestly, the most powerful tool I've found in this game mode is the seiker1. Is it absolutely, without question, the best way of moving your target into an isolated area. Also, an even better way to spot assassins is to look at their outline when you instinct. Just like guards, they have a slightly thicker white outline than civilians, so if you see a civilian near a suspect with a thick white outline, that's your assassin.

    2 showdown shortcuts
If you ever see a Payout Objective "Distract Target", pick that one and save the location that has it for the Showdown Mission. It is practically a giveaway for the target. Just toss a coin or something near each target until one of them completes the objective and boom, that's the target. Easy showdown.
If you just want to breeze through the Showdown mission, pick the one with Colorado, and save Colorado for the Showdown, then Wicker Man the level.

Edit: sorry y’all made a mistake. I think most safes have different stuff. Mendoza had merces but Dartmoor has a mansion master key to unlock all doors. Will update with maps like Dubai which has 2 safes when I can

I feel like the mentioning of not caring about rating is an absolute must. It seriously handicaps you in your ability to complete the mission. I think the only time you get punished for being messy is civi kills and killing suspects who arnt the target. Both being a mercers penalty. But everyone else is free game. Sometimes you just have to shoot someone, quickly clearing a room of enemies before anyone else can alert the rest. The removal of importance to rank really lets people be able to pull off some slick moves. The sooner you change the mindset to “complete the mission” instead of “be stealthy and clean” the better.

If you are short on suppressed weapons, as most are when starting out, then prioritize Dubai as an early map. You can always pick up the suppressed 1-hand smg DAK DTI and the suppressed Shaska rifle. Silent guns make things so much easier. Even if it's a long gun in your briefcase, just get a guard/soldier uniform to be able to carry it around normally and get your targets.
Another thing is to try and avoid wasting time on little stuff. Just get the job done and move on. Speedrun it, pretty much. There is already enough challenge in getting to the next mission without losing. A lot of people try to pull off something complex, get even the most difficult and fiddly side objectives, get every courier etc, when it's ultimately just slowing your progress in Freelancer mode. You will get the best gains by making sure you are out of the map early, only going for extra things when they are actually worth the time and risk. If unsure, go faster.

Extra *VERY* important Tip for the *Assassins & Lookouts* in Freelancer Mode. Assassins and Lookouts have a thick white outline in Instinct just like the Guards. If you see a regular NPC with a Guard-like thick outline, that is your Assassin. Neutralise or Eliminate it. Lookouts on the other hand are Enforcers that take the appearance of a regular NPC. Keep an eye out for Lookouts and do not spook them. Lookouts is the Syndicate's way of updating the situation and the meeting. So if you do anything crazy and the Lookouts noticed, they'll alert the Assassins, other Lookouts and of course the Syndicates in that Showdown.
Also if you do make a mistake and are not wounded, you can *EXIT out of the application* and start the game again. Much like Elusive Targets, your progress is saved before you started the mission. For Freelancer, the targets will remain the same but the items you can get from Suppliers or Stashes may slightly differ.

Another tip I would add is for showdown missions: spotting a potential target and getting around to killing them without retaliation are 2 separate stages. If you fail a showdown you fail the campaign. Once you have spotted a target I find it extremely useful to feed them a remote explosive duck. It raises no suspicion and is a great insurance for when things go bad and you are in a different spot on the map, so you can't reach an escaping target, or you are near but don't want to provoke the guards by openly shooting. Ducks are cheap even, if you never have to trigger them.

I'm playing in this mode for a week. I bought the game at a discount. I completed campaigns from 1 to 3 parts to remember a bit. I played part 1 of the game, a long time ago. After a week of playing, I noticed that there is nothing to force to do everything. I choose a mission and places where there are fewer guards because I often make mistakes. This usually happens when I'm loaded with equipment. I think I lost 4-5 sniper rifles. Several unlocked golden rifles. Right now I'm focusing on opening safes. Opening crates and killing targets where escape is close if something goes wrong. I use the map more often and before I move from the starting point I plan what to do. I avoid places that can give me a loot. Once you have to choose a shootout, choose
A large room where you can hide behind a desk or other object As well as yesterday I discovered that with a pistol you can shoot standing outside the window on the windowsill and slide down the gutter in case of escape. I recommend 1 Dubai mission because on the 6th floor you can get an AK-47 with a silencer. In many other missions, you can easily get ammunition for this. As well as there you can get Uzi. Great weapon in tight spaces, for defense. Having a silencer is easier to play and kill. The guards guess where the shot came from, and without a silencer they know the location. And you lure a lot more guards without a silencer. At first I liked to use poisons, but now I have become convinced of explosives and ambushes. Like from a motivational image. - Every shot not fired is a 100% box. Somehow it motivated me to shoot as much as I could. Often, when I kill someone, I throw a gun to his hand as if he committed suicide. Just for fun :)

You can get a free vial of poison if you are patient and lucky. Go to the doc and fish until you get a fish and then go to the shed and retrieve the grape knife and then you can cut the fish open and retrieve poison. I'm not sure what the limitations are but I got a sedative poison when I harvested a fish.

A tip I want to add is to make sure you prioritise the targets before dealing with couriers, safes, and other forms of looting. A common mistake I was making was trying to beat the laser grid on New York bank before taking out the syndicate leader and if I hit the laser grid it would trigger the target to escape before I could catch them. Also, if you do fail when taking on a syndicate leader just exit the mission as you won't lose your items when you fail the mission.

I started playing Hitman 3 at the start of 2022. Atfirst I didn't have the original version, I had a cracked one, just to see how the game works and if I would really want to spend my money on it. And I found myself playing for hours on every single mission, looting and exploring, since the cracked version was stuck on offline mode and loadout was pretty much inexistent. I can say I am thankful for learning to play Hitman like that, cuz like you said, it will help a lot in Freelancer

Those famous Hitman glitches are still there. And with the brutal stakes of Freelancer, it's merciless. I got an explosion kill in the Embassy in Marrakesh. It was on the first floor between the stairs to the underground carpark and the security station. Now, no one saw me, but I ran upstairs to the janitor's room, closed the door and hid in the bin to wait until they went off alert. Now...doors closed...I'm inside the bin...and I'm fine. Until a guard walked by outside the room and somehow he spotted me through the wall and through the bin. Entire map goes on alert and all the combatants converge on my position.
Then there was Ambrose Island. It was a boss mission in the third stage, second campaign. I appeared right next to a supplier. So I went to see what he had. I got spotted....by a lookout...while _IN_ the supplier's menu! Entire map goes 'cockroach with the lights on' and all guards converge on me. And I lost not only my favorite sniper rifle, the Tuatara, but I lost my silverballer and the Sieger Ghost I _just_ bought.

But I've had 3 very close calls and its great. I've not been able to save and go back when I've messed up. Instead I've had to think on my feet and improvise, and its probably given me some of the best moments I've had since first playing the series (Hitman 2: Silent Assassin).

You will be restored at the point before you go onto the mission. Its basically restart mission. Hope this helps!

Exactly as you said, less on the score and more on the money. I've been realizing that getting silent assassin is definitely a waste of time. This game mode encourages me to do dumb things. Once, I threw an explosive plushy at the Syndicate Leader and hid in the bushes, avoided the guards, and got out. That experience taught me to get real creative and smart with what I have. Even if it can result in dumb but hilarious outcomes. Hey, it worked after all!!!

My advice is when you start a campaign look at the locations and plan for your showdown. New York is probably a best location with the job applicant dusguise as if you go through the HR scene you get free reign of the bank minus the CEO'S office and nobody enforces you, making it easy to spot the lookouts. Alternatively other stages can be difficult for showdowns due to having alot of people walking around in open areas like Marrakesh (the school spawning point sucks) or Hokkiado.
My biggest gripe is that when you fail a showdown you lose all your freelancer tools, even the ones you didn't take with you.

Two days ago, I played a mission in France. My target had two stations: the bar and the outside terrace. The problem was: he just stood in front of the bar without drinking anything and there wasn’t a gas heater near the area in which he smoked. I had no opportunity to shoot him without getting caught and really thought the game was bugged because he didn’t drink anything.
After 30 minutes of fiddling around yo thought: is there some sort of portable gas trap? This way I learned that I could toss a propane gas tank on the floor and it would start leaking, eliminating my target once he lighted his cigar. Despite all the problems and the time I wasted, I really liked this mission. It forced me to learn a completely new, fun mechanic I never had to use before!

1 note about the assasin/lookout info. Yes they are a great way to get some gear, however they are not always near your target. So dont be fooled thinking that just becouse a suspect is followed by a lookout and/or assasin that thats your target. A few tips I've noticed:
-The safehouse always has some particular items spawn that you can take with you on missions. The medical room always has a stethoscope, so you always have a fibre wire item. The garage always has a car battery, so you can always setup an electrical kill, and a wrench, so you always have access to a concealable, always legal, non-lethal, distraction object (plus the wrench utility).
-Your end rating does not matter in the slightest. Even the Silent Assassin equivalent (ICA Ghost Assassin, or something), doesn't get you anything. No extra merces, no extra points, zilch. So everything you've conditioned yourself not to do in the main game can work to your advantage. I find the easiest way to get a guard disguise is sneak into an off limits area and just get caught tresspassing. A guard will escort you out; and I've yet to encounter a single instance where they don't lead you through an isolated area, usually with a stash/disposal spot nearby. It's almost too easy.
-The rewards you get from stashes/arms dealers/reward crates seem to come from a pool of items; and whenever you acquire one, it gets taken out of the pool. As the pool shrinks you're more likely to get the thing you need/are looking for. And the more you succeed the easier it is to succeed.
-Small one, but a detail I find helpful and funny: Arms dealers could not care less about what you do in front of them. Choke someone, kill someone, snap necks, obliterate guards with a shotgun. Nothing intimidates these guys, and they don't rat you out, presumably because you're their best customer.
-The penalty for excessive killing is only 50 Merces, so if you've got an objective thats dependent on remaining stealthy or quiet, you can afford to kill a few people. 900 Merces isn't 1000 Merces, but its still 900 Merces.

Also, when you finish a syndicate showdown and choose the next syndicate, if you really don't like the maps in that section and especially, which one of those as designated as alerted, just quit the game before you begin the next mission and when you start it again, the list of maps in the suggested contract will be different. This can help at later stages, when you really get screwed by rng until you learn all the maps perfectly .

The campaign consists of 4 stages with progressing difficulty increase. It is much easier to loose all progress in later stages. I found I mostly died due to trying to complete all of the objectives. Now I believe, it is better to go for all of the objectives in the earlier stages, while in latter stages to just try to kill the targets in any way, which would require the lowest risk possible.

It can also feel like you are getting nowhere if you buy a bunch of tools and die =.= on top of staying around the guns at higher lvls are cheaper to bring so.. being able to get them again reliably is very nice.

One big part that I feel the freelancer mode kinda messes up is that it incentivizes you to NOT bring gear.
Unless it's for a challenge (I.E. mercer reward), the gamemode incentivizes you to learn the maps and where to find whatever you might need on any given map or utilize what the map provides.
Why ever bring an unsilenced gun - any map has NPCs carrying them. Most maps have coins or other small throwables. Crowbars, screwdrivers, wrenches - found on the map. The list goes on and on.
You get this wall of collectible gear that you'll never use unless for a specific paid objective.

    • @danjal87nl
      @danjal87nl Год назад

You mention exploding the safe - most maps have gas cannisters. Guess what they do when shot. *boom*
The game incentivizes you to hoard. Go into a map, do the objectives, then by knowing the good stuff found on the map pick those up and leave. Down the line when the rewarding objectives come that require that gear you have it.
