    UPDATE May, 2023: The devs have patched ALT+F4 so you will fail your freelancer mission if you now use that key combination. The current workaround for when you want to restart your mission is to pause the game, open task manager, then end task Hitman 3. learn how to get lots of cash (New York) and you may completely ignore failures. unless you loose constantly, you can quickly get all items and from that point onward you have no need for money, so in case of failure, you can rather quickly refill all three basic equipment cases.

    Bananas are great to rob couriers. After you unlock the kitchen there will always spawn a banana to bring along to missions. Just closely observe the couriers path and place the banana (which is totally legal btw). When they slip they will drop the Merces, and afaik they won't pick them up again.
    Another niche tactic is placing guns or other illegal objects to distract a guard. When an NPC sees a gun where it isn't supposed to be they will alert the nearest guard (unless they already are a guard) and that guard will then pick the weapon up and bring it to the nearest weapon depot (those black boxes in some security rooms). Some bodyguards or door guards are immune to this, but if there's a particularly annoying patrolling guard this can make them disappear for a while. Keep in mind that Hitman 3 only lets you carry 1 of each gun (if you already have the exact model in your inventory the new one will disappear)

    • @Mordrukk666
      @Mordrukk666  Год назад +10

      Yes, I should have specified that bananas are the intentional way to take out couriers in public, and the dropped weapon trick is indeed great for luring guards away from the area for a while. However I don't think assassins pick up dropped weapons? I'm not sure but I feel like they just ignore them, but in theory it should be a solid strategy for distracting assassins away from their relative suspects

    • @HATECELL

    • @xt4hodgson
      @xt4hodgson Год назад +8

      @@Mordrukk666 Assassins tend to call someone to pick up a weapon if they see it. However, if an unarmed npc sees it and the nearest guard npc is an assassin, the civilian will notify the assassin and the assassin will come pick it up. I've used it a few times to remove bodyguards from suspects before setting up a meeting.
      I also have a tip for showdowns that is tricky to pull off it but worth it when done right. Won't work on the first showdown as there is only one network, but later showdowns have multiple networks so if you identify a suspect in a different network to the leader, you can cause a panic for that network to evacuate the area. I'd advise causing the panic somewhere secluded so only that network panics. I've had one instance where the leaders network left as well but I think they saw the same body rather than it being caused by the first network. I've used the panic successfully 5 times so far (not always intentionally) and it helps a lot when there are 9 suspects.

    • @Mordrukk666
      @Mordrukk666  Год назад +7

      @@xt4hodgson I started noticing the chain reaction when suspects become panicked and you're right - additional suspects will only escape if they're in the vicinity of an already escaping suspect. If you are new try to avoid Colorado like the video said, but I also personally avoid Haven Island and Bangkok as well as for Bangkok and Haven the targets are hard to isolate usually, and Haven has really bugged detection.
    If you're also in the area already on NY you can actually enter the vault to get some mercers ~10k but it varies.

Especially that 3 wall and 2 door "exploids" where you can easy detonate explosives and so on - also knowing WHICH GLASS is bullet proof and which not can safe your "perfect shooter" so - that fire cracker trick with oil cannister trap is a life saver!!! So looting this precious chests with gear on maps and KNOWING where they might be can help a lot ... same goes for knowing the best disguise for each specific area... some maps have a freaking awsome disguise which brings you everywhere ... guard outfits per se: you can wear a silenced assault rifle or any gun on your back visible even a security guard in Miami (which are normally not running with Assaults!) are totally fine... for Showdowns: you can be in TRESPASSING AREAS totally chilly if no normal enforcers are there the suspects are only enforcers if its an alerted showdown... Assassins are never enforcers! Thats my 2cents as well as for push kills: if you want to push a guard over a ledge or window and you don't have coins? place a GUN: it works the same way as shown in this video! I am a veteran player of Hitman and hard boiled by many fails of Freelancer so i know my tricks ... and yes if the HEAT is on: if you created a safe space maybe with only 1 entrance for guards rushing you - i hope you have stocked up on bullets :-) it helps - i cleared in the attic of Paris almost all guards of the map because i messed up and killing guards is free so feel free to kill as many treads if necessary ;-) FOX OUT

    Overall, Freelancer is a *fantastic* game mode. Still, gonna vent a little: I don't like the Perfect Shooter objective.
    I don't take issue with having to never miss. The problem is that if you have it and want to complete it, you can only shoot NPCs and nothing else.
    No cameras.
    No security stations.
    No oil drums.
    If a single shotgun pellet misses your target, you lose it.
    Apparently it's a bug, but still: if a sniper shot goes through your target and hits the environment, you can lose it.
    No chandelier chains or other accident items.
    That last one is even more restrictive because not every chandelier has a winch and many of them don't. Also if you don't have/can't find/can't afford the proper tools to create spills/leaks on the map without shooting, you can't do the accident kill you want. I just think a lot of the current restrictions for Perfect Shooter are unnecessary. There are quite a few non-NPC items on the map that you benefit from shooting at.
    I've achieved the objective a few times before writing this, but in case anyone wants to argue "skill issue", I urge them to think of it this way: imagine you pistol-sniped a chandelier chain from across the map, through a window, and it lands perfectly on your target and no one else. A perfect, clean accident with an insane shot that nets you Silent Assassin.
    But now Freelancer thinks your aim is dogshit because you didn't shoot an NPC, and takes off Perfect Shooter from your score. That's why it gets to me. It's the principle of it!

If u die on the mission, whatever if u pause and close the game it will save automatically, so close the game before u die. PC only

    Mendoza is the absolute best level for showdowns.
    Most of the time you spawn in the cave where you get the "skeleton key" disguise right away and literally everything is accessible then and there. Not to mention you have an incomparable line of sight to all the suspects at once, so if you're lazy, you can just mark 3-4 top suspects and most likely be able to take them out from the game's original spawn point in a few seconds.

    Lots of comments mentioning New York and the Mercers + shotgun in the vault. It's worth raiding the safe deposit boxes as well. There are two melee items that always spawn (Burial Knife which is epic and another one that I can't remember the name of that's legendary), as well as lethal poison, chloroform, and a package bomb.
    If you play it safe and prepare methodically, the basement guard room is probably the best meeting ambush spot in the game. You can only poison the vents once though, so you need to kill or KO the guards there some other way and hide their bodies first. Then once the meeting happens, you can easily KO everyone with the chloroform. Or just lethally poison them if you don't care about collateral. I personally like to opt for Whittleton, Dubai, or Miami for showdowns, but that's as much because I just like those maps and know them very well as anything else.

    I actually like doing freelamcer in Colorado so long as I don't have suit only objectives. The point man is the only disguise in the game that lets you walk around armed with a sniper rifle.
    Showdowns I absolutely avoid places like Bangkok and Marrakesh as you can't always get lines out of sight in the densely packed crowds.
    Showdown locations I like are New York and Dubai as they have civilian disguises that have large unrestricted access like the Job Applicant and Penthouse staff.
    The reason for civilian disguises is a stage that is alerted have more enforcers that see through guard disguises, most the time they will not see through non-guard disguises.
    New York is also a good place to raid the vault for Merces.

      @swampexpertextraordinaire6896 After watching hitman speedruns, it's clear how scripted it is. You could play just by looking at the timer. If you load up a level multiple times and record it, then overlap the videos, there's no difference 99% of the time. You can shoot down a chandelier at exactly X seconds and it's guarenteed elimination. You can camp spawn with a sniper and shoot a window at X seconds to take the racecar out. It's crazy.

If a personal guard sees an accident happen, they will confirm that it was not an accident. For personal guards it’s still okay to see the aftermath and it’s only not an accident if they see the accident happen in front of them.

    There's a minor glitch I've encountered with closing and opening the game, any time an objective is completed (like destroying a surveillance system) you keep the XP from completing that objective even without completing the mission so theoretically you could just restart the same mission and never complete it for easy XP

    • @Mordrukk666
      @Mordrukk666  Год назад

      Yep, though it's less of a glitch and just more how the game works at an API level. When you complete an objective, that XP is queued up server-side, and then it's added to your overall XP when the round is complete. It doesn't account for rounds that were alt+f4'd since using that trick breaks the game's lifecycle hooks (the queued XP won't be cleared via onExit() or onQuit() as usual), so it just remains server-side and continues to accumulate as you try the round again.
      In theory, someone could play the same round over and over again, but considering you'll need to complete around 575 contracts to hit level 100, that seems kind of pointless and the opposite of fun

Another thread mentioned this tweet ( twitter.com/Hitman/status/1632722514022473729?t=hZ7tgicedj7T8ufQKDSvew&s=19 ) which insinuates IOI is aware of the fact that no one can find it. Have you tried Hardcore Mode yet? lol..... Try it and then see if you still like it. I'm also a Hitman veteran, and I struggle to find this mode fun at all. It's not really all that hard, just a bit time consuming. Some moments are kinda fun at times because of the unpredictability of your next planned strategy, but a lot of the mode is sadly ruined by idiotic and pointless objectives that make no sense or just add frustration and tedium to the entire experience. I just wish side objectives weren't so stupid and lame and pointless. Most of the missions that I end up failing are because I'm attempting to perform some kind of stupid side objective that ends up resulting in me getting caught.... And the side objective was completely pointless and useless to my strategy to begin with. I hate it lol. Mode needs some work to be fun. For now, it's just repetitive tedious chore work trash that forces you to question your entire life up to that point whenever you fail a mission because you thought that was a remote explosive but instead it was a proximity explosive because the mines both look almost completely identical to one another in your mission inventory slot..... and lose all your cool stuff.
