Two thoroughly decent blokes enjoying a great wild camp, what could be better? Youre both experts in this field, oops Dad pun there. This is good for my mental health just watching both of you, either of you, individually or not. Thanks for sharing 👍
A (not so secret) secret… love the vids and I’m always learning, so here’s one back at ya! Remember Avon? Grab a bottle of their Skin So Soft moisturiser if you get half a chance and say goodbye to those midges, mozzies, ticks and bugs (we have our fair share up in the Highlands and in the forestry)! It’s just a simple moisturiser (unlike Deet or Jungle Formula etc.), it’s good for the skin and works a treat. Cheap, non-toxic, 100% safe alternative to bug-spray that just works (plus your skin will thank you)!
I'm off to the woods on Friday, can't wait. How many people find the more times you go away the better you get at it. Taking the right things, not wasting things you take etc. I'm not in Simon or Craig's league yet though. Happy days to all
What more could you ask for ! 2 legends on the same video absolutely brilliant. I usually have to watch one then the other. Need to see you simon and Craig more out together 💥
Another great video, thank you. I still warm up tinned food (already cooked) near the fire. Back in the day we'd make a bain marie with our mess tins. I like fried sausages but I LOVE boiled sausages. I boil them and the onions in a pot then add the gravy granules at the end. It's about 630am watching this and I'm now ravenous!!!Thanks again.
Glad to see ya back out in the woods Beans cooked in a can, I can't believe that's a big deal. I just turned 70 and when camping, I thought cooking in the can I'd what was supposed to happen. And you know there are some that makes a big deal out of using a wooden spoon, survived that too. LOL Great video, nice camp, nice weather, a friend to enjoy it with. Don't get much better. God bless and stay safe on your travels.
You two are such a nice couple of fellows. So neat that you can be friends and get to camp out together. Pines are always my favorite place to hang out. Thanks for this great video, Simon.
I just ate but got hungry again watching you with that meal. I want to know what is wrong with heating beans in a can. Plain food but nothing better. What I like the most is that you didn't have to spend time chopping and mixing. Just plain ole goodness. Just so you know, it has become a custom at my house, after watching your videos, to lightly toss your plate so that the fork makes a noise after you have a meal. Certain phrases have also become common here. Phrases such as "Just the ole job" and "That went down well" can be heard quite often around here. Needless to say, you have made quite an impression on my household. Thanks for all you do!!!
Cooked in the can is how we used to heat our baked beans and bangers n beans on our campfires and bonfires as kids during the 70"s. Reassuring to see the technique is still alive and kicking 👌 Well done fellas!
Craig is a great guy and hope to see a few more vids with you both. That sure seemed like a great camp in contrast to the cold and wet night before. "200 THOUSAND subscribers" Awesome and well deserved Simon! Cheers from Newfoundland Canada.

This was more like it Simon in the forest the proper campfire. It's nearly 10:00 PM here and I'm tempted to go out to the kitchen to make sausages and mashed potatoes. Yours looks so good. But I guess I'll wait till tomorrow for dinner. Thanks for sharing stay safe and healthy. EDIT: I was still wanting your food when I woke up next morning, so I just finished off a sausage, two rashers of bacon, two fried eggs, and some beans with a piece of naan. Oh Boy. That's what I call breakfast!!!
Reminds me of those dark long winter nights me and my mates spent in the woods huddled around a campfire with a few drinks during the lockdowns, good stuff
Nice video Simon & Crage 👍👍. Luvd the camp fire banter, especially when you've had. A delicious meal & a couple of beers 🍻 😋 👌. That's what we do in Canada 🇨🇦, good food lots of great friends 😊😊. Plenty of beers 🍻, sitting around a camp fire. Telling stories 😊😊.
Sat here with you from my bed here in Sydney. Wish I could light a fire but they are banned due to the heatwave we are due to have. Really miss making a good campfire. Nothing like the satisfaction of getting a fire going from the smallest spark onto some silver birch bark and feeding with kindling. Made myself laugh when I started forming a windbreak around your fire with my hand. Great vid guys and who knows, maybe one day I’ll go camping in the outback and have a fire. Might even film it to prove I can build a fire. Cheers
Hello Simon, good video as always. I wondered if you could do a video on how you deal with ticks or rather how you prevent them from biting you as I respect your opinion. I love the outdoors but have built up a rather unhealthy fear of the little buggers. All the best from a fellow east anglian
@simonablokeinthewoods okay thank you for the reply. As far as I know I've only been bitten once but i contracted lyme disease and now i really struggle to not think about them!
I know it's poison, but here in the states since the bio-weapons idiots released the Texas ticks all over with lymes disease, and they cover half the country now.... I use Sawyers or repell permethrin sprays. I'd rather detox the poison than get lymes disease. Here in Texas I just treat my clothing and bags, but if I'm on the east coast I treat everything and my skin.
