    I brought key lime seeds to the Philippines when I retired here 6 years ago. Grows like a weed! But plant in large pots as soil here is heavy and wet. No citrus will tolerate constantly wet roots.

      thanks for the insights. I agree that any citrus will not handle wet feet for long. Side note, enjoy your retirement and you picked a beautiful country

    Hi. Do you think Mexican lime is the same as key lime.. I got a Mexican lime thornless but the fruit is very small and the tree produces just 5 o 10 por season..

      hi Adan. You will need to feed that tree to and also provide some rock dust/azomite to allow it to blosom/fruit. What's your location, or you might add a picture. It needs water & food, and it should do great.

      Awesome. I was blessed with a bag of tiny limes and thought “man it would be great to have a Mexican lime tree”
      Now im sprouting about 27 lime seeds haha!
      Im doing this for the journey though… if I get tiny lime then it will just be the cherry on top

      @@rememberberries4277 Keep in mind that from seeds you would only see full size trees (nothing dwarf). However, you should have limes

      @thetreefather86
      Would it be the original lime tree? Meaning I know lime trees usually grow like a bush as oppose to an actual tree so Im wondering if you are referring to “tree” as the way a like tree grows which is more like a bush

    • @thetreefather86
      @thetreefather86  Год назад

      @@rememberberries4277 Only the grafted dwarf/semi-dwarf will be smaller size (6 ft). The regular size could get bigger 15-20 ft, but you can keep them trimmed as a bush/small size.

    Hi where can I get Mexican lime plant ?

      I don't know your location to provide you some guidance. If you live in an area that doesn't have the big nursery stores available, you can find it online easily.

    Can you send me some cuttings? My lemon died in the Texas freeze this past February.

    • @thetreefather86
      @thetreefather86  3 года назад

      I don't propagate and have not seen propagation of citrus from cuttings (unless we're talking air layering) and the logistics don't make sense to ship something out that far. Can you find something locally around you in TX?

      @@thetreefather86 I still can't find this thorn variety. Someone gave me a thornless key lime tree. It hasn't given fruit yet, so I don't know if the limes will be the same, small, yellow limes as you’re showing us in this video.

      @@ladyskywalker967 interesting. It shouldn't make much of a diference. Do you have other citrus trees producing? is it a local/soil issue/microclimate?

      @@thetreefather86 I have ten citrus trees. Some are still young. Four of them have buds. Hopefully the lime will have buds this year.
