  • Gold Nugget Mandarin - best variety of mandarins with the juciest and sweetest fruit. An improved citrus variety that is cold and disease resistent. Very easy to grow in Southern California. Remember to eat clean and green!

I feel Sumo (Dekopon) mandarin is a little more flavorful & a finer texture than Gold Nugget mandarin. In Australia both these trees are only available to licensed farmers to grow currently, but I successfully grafted my Sumo from some little remaining twigs from the store-bought Sumo fruits ✌

Where can I find this tree at?

Most nurseries in Southern California should carry the Gold Nugget Mandarin. If you are in San Diego county, you should easily find it.

Thanks for the comment. You're making me laugh and it is in good spirit. I want the kids to share input as limited as it may be. We're working on giving better input, so stay tuned.

Thanks Nello. I'm running out of space to plant, but I would love the Satsuma mandarin challenge :)
