Here in the Philippines we don’t cut the pomelo like apple otherwise it will taste sour or off to tastebuds. We usually cut the top off (delicately not cut from outside to flesh, just until to white layering only) and we just peel it like orange. You must peel it off that way for best taste. 😊

Year on year though, the trees do give in abundance. Your channel is so calming and refreshing. We have to go back to the basics of loving our planet, growing and giving back. @thepaperwar00 3 года назад

@@bgram7866 Instructions for pomelo rind hat (usually reserved for the youngest of the family, but we're all babies to someone):
      1. Slice off top part of rind, so that the top is flat.
      2. Score (cut the rind, but do not cut into the fruit itself) the sides in a kind of "X" design, but do NOT score to the bottom. Score a little bit past halfway to the bottom, otherwise, you will just have separate pieces of rind.
      3. Carefully peel the rind away from the flesh. It should come off in one whole piece. It will look similar to a fat squid.
      4. Cut off one of the wedges of rind (one of the squid's legs) for the face.
      5. Find the youngest in the family, and place on head. You may also wear it yourself. It is very aromatic.
      6. Save the hat to make braised pomelo rind, or just toss it in the compost.

In Vietnam we use the peels of the pomelo for hair nourishment, it actually works very well. Just simply dry it up and boil it in water, you can use the the tea to rinse you hair with. I can still remember the lovely smell 🤗

  • @TenHo-zt9pk

You have done your best to invent every new things in growing all sorts of plants. I mean how the whole world peel pummelo to make it appealing to eat and you cut it like a lemon, how the whole world grows dragon fruits by trellis and you grow it without, and how you use eggs feed your trees etc. Even though it all fails from my point of view but I have to acknowledge it's brilliant efforts and is very entertaining.

On my country there is a soda called literally "squirt" (trademark of pepsico) wich flavor is based upon pomelos... also there is annother soda of coca cola co. that roughly tastes the same (it's flavor is pomelo if you didn't guess it) and it's the so called "fresca". I dunno if you did ever drink them. but i did found them with a flavor not quite so pomelo-ish at least, but for sure they're good at cooling down one's body :D XD....

    Awesome, I love Pomelo!
My mum use to score the rind in a cross shape and then carefully peel it open like a flower and remove the flesh whole. The rind intact can then be used like a lantern and flesh stores really well for up to a week in the fridge as is. Before eating I’d remove just the pulp from the segment walls, they are too thick and bitter for my liking. Mmmm...wish I had one growing in my garden now!

Great to see you in Vietnam. Not really sure which variety you tried is but you might know there are quite a few different types of them. The three most popular ones in Vietnam are "Buoi Dien" (Northern Vietnam, Hanoi), "Buoi Da Xanh" and "Buoi Nam Roi" (Southern Vietnam, Hochiminh). They are all great!
