In this video I’ll show you how simple it is to build your own big brake kit for any 10th Gen Accord (2018-2020+)
This kit was meticulous researched to allow anyone to bolt it directly onto the existing chassis with a slight modification to the brake dust shield.
Parts need:
•2 FRONT HYUNDAI GENESIS BREMBO CALIPERS (Any Year)
•2 FRONT ACURA TL-S BREMBO ROTORS (Any year) Can also use G35/G37 front rotors but they aren’t hub centric like the Acura.
•NEW PAIR OF BREMBO PADS (if you purchased used calipers)
Depending on where you sourced the calipers (New/Used/Refurbished) it is recommended that you replace the banjo bolts and crush washers if you didn’t get new hardware with the calipers. You will be able to bolt these calipers up to the stock master cylinder and utilized normal braking once you’ve bled the system.

Loved this. My car is really moving now so I almost cried when race technologies said 4 grand. I’m ready to purchase everything in your vid but just wanted to make sure any year genesis brembo’s would work.
Hey Paul - Yeah any year brembo’s would work. 1st or 2nd gen have the same calipers.
Fahrenheit Motorsports thanks bro. I ordered them from Lkq for 80 a pop! Because of that I might splurge and go to the dealer for my rotors.
Fahrenheit Motorsports hey bro so I did test run today. Unable to put the rim back on. Did you run into this problem? I have stock 19’s
I’m running at +30 offset so no problem with my setup. You’ll need 25mm spacers if your running stock wheels.
How about making a update video. Interested in doing this mod, just wondering how they have been for you.
Thanks for Doing the research and sharing with the Honda community you’ve awesome 👍
Just Awesome :: He really is a trailblazer for us.
Right on, this is a great video. I'm spent over $500. on just stupid covers. Love what you've done. Wish I could get that set for $500 bucks.
You can check on eBay if you buy them separate from different sellers they’re going for less than $200 per caliper
Congrats on the baby! Hope everything is going well.
If you were to do everything to remove the brake shield from the car, would you be able to use the brake shield from a TL Type S?
Can't wait to see more updates on this setup!
Thanks man! I’m not sure, if I ever get my hands on one I’ll try.
Thanks man I found my brakes at O'Reilly brembo brakes Remanufactured with life time warranty for 150 each eBay was close to 600 and used with no warranty keep up the good work 👍
so you just pull up and ask for remanufactured Hyundai Genesis brembo brakes?? ebay is trippin
Just looked. You ain't lying. Thanks for the tip
@alejando did you have to order the rotors and brakes as well?
@@herrerajoe9770 yes sir any auto part store will order them for you and it's lifetime warranty can't beat it
hey bro I know I posted a lot in the comments I guess I just have a lot of questions did you ever get them installed did you ever make a video of how they looked? Will the rear brembos from the Genesis also fit? Would be amazing the have the set of 4, looks better too.
No
Would these fit the 2.0 touring model?
Update on this? Did you ever figure out why you can't make it fit flush? Why inner pads rub? Thanks for all your info on this. Awesome ride!
Use a .5mm shim mate
Nice setup....but it seems you just did a big caliper upgrade since the OEM and Aftermarket rotors are essentially the same size.
So all he had to do was switch the calipers ?
what about the brake lines? direct fit? im sorry if i missed this but i didn't hear it
You could've skipped the penetrating lube soak for 24-28 hours. I've done brakes on multiple vehicles for 20 years and have never broken a caliper adapter bolt, also if you would've started with the impact screwdriver and a 4lb mini hammer you would've saved the screw that holds that rotor on. But hey you live and you learn.
Don't waste time painting, you CANNOT see both sides of the car at the same time (Sir Wlliam Lyons).
Yesss!, I'm looking to upgrade to a BIG Brake kit soon, great vid!
What rotors did you used I noticed that the brake pads are larger then the surface of the rotor on the roque rotors but it works
Broo!!! Congrats on the new baby!! Best of luck with the move and great upload as always! @Bobby_Digital222🔥🎄👌🏾🔥
Appreciate you bro 🤙🏽
People run the 320mm rotors from the 2017 3 row nissan rogue
Great work with the research and buying the parts. Looking forward to seeing the drivability if it all pans out with them installed. Thank you!
Any update on the braking pedal feel ? Also
Are you running a 19" wheel? Do 18" wheels clear? Diameter wise? Like caliper-to- Inner barrel of wheel? I have a +32mm offset, set of Konig wheels, 18" x 8.5" I think the wheel spoke-to- face of caliper should be good, I can run the 20 or 25mm spacer if need be. It looks like my oem calipers are an inch or so away from the inner barrel of my wheels.
any part # to refrence? or year of cars just to make it little easier to search 😅
Did you need to change the break lines or anything like that ?
Curious.... couldn't the Acura Brembo brakes and calipers and rotors fit 2020 Accord Sport 2.0???
Which Acura? TL-S caliper doesn’t just bolt up unfortunately.
Do an update video after a yr. How has the master cylinder and abs system liked this mid. Thanks
No sweat, I feel the MS has to work less. Bonus once upgraded to this, it's less expensive to replace the rotors/pads & rebuild the calipers (replace dust seals & O-rings) than with the OEM Honda parts.
Congratulations I talked to Brian from fast breaks about that hey what's that $800 ads on everything so you did it cheaper I went with wheel with 6 piston 13 1/2 inch 2 piece rotors and I damn near cost me $2,200
Ouch! I’m sure it looks amazing tho man. As long as your happen that’s what matters brother. If you have an IG tag me in some photos I’d love to see your setup.
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports love what you do your channel is awesome you do a great job you know what you're talkin about and and you do almost everything yourself greatly appreciate it yes they did not make it I was the first 10th gen Accord to get a brake upgrade. But on the Acura TL you cannot use Acura TL brembos on the 10th gen you have to use RL calipers and people take the Acura logo Santa Monica brembo there a sec those work but the problem is they're so big it will not fit a stock offset wheels so then you have to buy aftermarket wheels. I think I might be a problem with the Genesis 2 I'm not for sure cuz our cars factory of high offsets I have volk racing wheels so I don't have to worry about that. That is very informative to the average person great job and letting them know
Thanks for the kind words man. Appreciate you watching the vids. 👌🏽
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports no problem you're very knowledgeable and passionate about the 10 generation Accord if you ever have any issues with your brakes or need help you can always call Brian from fast breaks he is he is the guy that made it possible for all the Honda guys to one RL calipers on other cars including Acura TL with RSX S2000 he's the one is that developed the bracket to make RL calipers fit on several different Honda models. back in the day you had to run the whole knuckle assembly to put brembos from the TLs for a 6-speed manual on a Honda car and if your heart was not the same as a key unless they would not work it with a freaking nightmare that's why the RL calipers are easier to install versus the ones on the TLs. Actuality it TLs are real brembos and the ones on the RL are Asics. but people saying down the Acura logo at the gringo decals on them cuz they're 4-piston also.
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports you can also use a Nissan 370Z rotors because they're at 3:30 also and I think you're 12 and a half inch woodworth to is what Brian told me from fast brakes
if its uneven , can i add 3mm spacer inside the rotor to get it sit middle of the caliper
Great video! What brake lines would i need for this setup
The stock rubber lines will work, but I suggest Goodridge stainless lines (kit comes with all the copper crush washers required, shouldn't reuse old ones IMHO.)
Maybe it would be easy to replace that front dust shield fro Honda Type R, its not supposed to be expensive. In perfect scenario replace the hubs as well from Type R. and you don't have to cut anything. I guess.
Hey, just curious to know where you got your rims? Thanks
FitmentIndustries.Com
Does the stock sport wheels fit with this set up or would it need spacers? If so, what size?
Probably 25-30mm spacer
This man deserves more than 500 likes
I tried this setup this weekend. It didn’t workout for me as the rotors aren’t able to spin. Anyone else have this problem ? The rotor was hitting the part where the brembo mounted which was odd.
Good stuff bro for all your videos! I’m gonna get that on my 2019 accord touring
Hell yeah bro. If you need help with anything hit me up on IG.
You failed 😩
WOMP WOMP WOMP……. 😢😅
the brake pads we order from what car ?
Would these fit under the 17" steelies that I have for winter? I'm guessing not right?
Have to say this guy has the most boring uninspired garage I have ever seen?!?!?!
Blue
U need an impact driver for those set screws. Def invest if you’re working on cars often. Not all brands are the same I think my lisle driver is the best I could find. Others have broken in one use.
I have an impact screw driver for the set screws. Best way to go in my opinion. 👌🏽
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports best and only way to go. Also they get hammered back in.
can you use the acura TL type S brembos? on the 10gen accords?
Yes but you will need drilling to make the holes bigger where you bolt on and mount the calipers because the brembos from the Acura have bigger hoes 🕳 meanwhile the genesis is straight bolt on
What’s your ig ?
Any updates on the completed system? Also, since you said it was rubbing on the inside pads couldn’t u put washers on the mounting bolts to pull the pad inward more vs shims behind the rotor to push it out?
Yeah, it was the rotor causing the rubbing but after I got new ones it spun freely.
But yes I had the same thought, if you wanted to do it safely you could do extended wheel studs and some sort of shim. If you shimmed it with extended wheel studs you could get away with 5mm or less (which should be plenty) 👌🏽
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports Can you please tell what was the thickness of your new rotor? (The one embossed on the rotor hub)
How does the master cylinder and electronic booster handle the upgrade?
Effortlessly. Best thing I've done to my 19 civic HB sport. Massive improvement. Grab so good/smoothly/forcefully with very little pedal application, I feel the master may have to work less to slow the vehicle. I also installed GoodRidge Stainless hoses to complete this DIY thing of beauty.
Nice I'm putting the big brake brembo kit from an acura TL type S 6 speed manual. I had to pull steering knuckles do do my kit. On my 04 honda accord 6 speed coupe
would the acura type s calipers fit?
Can u please what year model was the genesis caliper and what year of the TL rottor please 🙏
Brings to dealer says makes noise when braking also lights on the dash lol
I would NEVER take the dealer my car with so many mods. That’s asking for an immediate cancellation of my warranty. I’ve got all the tools needed to cure my own brake noises 😂
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm getting a 2021 honda accord sport special edition delivered today. I'm excited to hook it up!
Looks great, I'm looking to upgrade my 2013 acura rdx caliper, any advice? Thanksin advance
Where did you source the calipers from ive seen the calipers for $250 for just one the cheapest ive found
where did you get this jack from brotha ?
also what gun is that the one you used to remove the nuts for the car ?
These were older craftsman’s jack and jack stands. You’d be better off with a low profile jack from harbor freight. That’s what I’m currently using and it works great. I can lift a lowered vehicle and my truck with the same jack.
Make videos 10x shorter 40 min is way to long
Congrats on the baby bro and thank you for showing step by step
Congrats on the little princess!
Thanks brotha 🤙🏽
This is pretty much the kit SlickFab Performance is selling for 9th gen, 10th gen Accords and Civics. The rotor are from a Nissan Rogue though. I believe they get a closer clearance to the caliper. They also don't clear the OE 18s in 9th gen so you'd have to run a spacer, at least 20 mm if you're not already running aftermarket wheels. Nice video, waiting on rotors for my install.
Awesome! Link??
Did you ever install the brembo kit from slickfab? Is it worth it? Is it bolt on no modifications? I want to keep the OEM 19 on.
@@edwinzamudio5055 Yes I got it installed but it does require either cutting or removing the dust shield for clearance of the calipers. I tried running my stock 18" Sport (+55) offset but even with a 20mm spacer they didn't fit. My F1R F35 20 x 8.5 (+35) did clear the caliper. I'm pretty sure the factory 19s will end up needing a spacer.
@@DRIVER0051 thanks. with the 20mm spacer you think the 19" will clear?
What about the rear caliper which one you think is fit?
Thanks for the video and all your effort.
Genesis coupe I believe bc the r spec sedan is a full size sedan that probably uses different brembos just saying
Can you give me the part number of the rotors or where to purchase the right one
I think you mounted the brake rotors backwards... the slotted should go the other way
Did you have a problem with the rear calipers? Im trying to change my rear brakes but i hear that you have to place the vehicle in maintenance release mode? Please help!
CONGRATULATIONS on the baby Meng 🙌🤜🤛
Appreciate it 👌🏽
All I see when I look up the calipers are caliper covers, what the hecking heck
This video could have been 22 shorter.
Good looking ride! Where can I get those rims and tires ?
Thanks man! Wheels are Aodhan Wheels: LS007’s in 20x9 +30
Any updates on this? Are you rolling with this kit still? Any wheel fitment issues with OEM wheels?
07-08 ACURA TL TYPE S RIGHT?
When its time to do brake lines do you get genesis brake lines?
You spent a lot for nothing
What brakes hose u have to buy or u can use the accord break line?
21:32+ reminded me of one of those old Bruce Lee type foreign kung fu flicks.
Will the type s rotors work for the 17 accord touring?
Hey do you know the name of the tool used for changing the brakes on the rears? It's a unique tool different from the front brakes, a brake depressor of some sort.
Btw how are your rear brakes?
noiceeee
Why aren’t these brakes on the car? Noticed later videos u got red painted stock calipers?
I sold the kit to another subscriber.
Do you know if this same setup will work for the 22’?
What about the rear?? They fit too??
Honda sensing in working normal?
Yes, don’t sensing isn’t touched for this process.
Fahrenheit Motorsports ok, nice video bro!
Congrats on the baby!
Is it possible to say where you purchased those rotors ?
Would these fit 2019+ rdx?
so the rotor 330mm x 28mm will fit right?>
invest in a micrometer it will help you in the long run
Do you still need to Dremel the dust shield if you purchase the tls rotors?
$500!?? All the big break kits I see online start at $1000
This was 3 years ago fam…
What break pad number you used?
Hi what about an acura tlx? What do you recommend?
Which caliper bolts did you end up using for the Brembo caliper. The accord caliper bolts or Genesis caliper bolts?
Accord.
Honda accord brake line bolt right up to the genesis brake calipers?
They do yes. I bought replacement banjo bolts (aftermarket) that are slightly shorter and they fit perfect.
Link for banjo bolts!
@Angel did you use the Honda Accord brake line? I’m thinking of upgrading to stop tech stainless steel lines And use the matching Brakenetic GT rotors. Any input would be appreciated thx
@@sirkhoo i used the stock/oem brake hoses from the accord. Just make sure u buy new washers for the brake hoses
Thank you for your quick reply Angel, since the calipers were used did you happen to replace anything else? (beside the Banjo bolt suggested by Fahrenheit M)
hey man, you have any idea how long it will take to replace rotors/ pads on a 2018 Accord, I'll will be using a floor jack to lift the car up along with jack stands to keep it suspended.
Depends on you. Takes me an hour each side.
I seen a post on Instagram where a guy did front and rear brembo brakes on his 2018 accord. Would the process be the same for the rear?
Did u ever find out what brackets ur friend used for the rear?
Did the brake line from the accord fit right into the hyundai genesis brembo caliper?
Yeah it fits. If your getting refurbished calipers get new banjo bolts and crush washers.
Where is that place on ebay to buy the refurbished calipers?

does this affect adaptive cruise control? now the car doesn't know it has more power.
The brake upgrade does not affect the ACC.
Any help on connecting brake lines and bleeding the lines?
Wow i really like the video
If u know what rotors do I use for tsx ?
This calipers fit for 9 gen Accord?
Hmm I wonder if this would work with a 2010 Honda Accord 🤔
I know this is a year old but the Genesis Coupe Brembo conversion works with any Honda/Acura with 5 lugs
Why not just buy the brake it that fits without cutting, anything
The aftermarket kits for this car are $3000. Id gladly cut and eventually replace my dust shield then spend the retail price to achieve the same goal.
If this was a show car that different. But it’s my family Frankenstein beater car so it gets experimented on 😂.
Does the 06- 08 Acura TL rear rotors fit the accord 10 gen as well ?
No, these cars have electronic ebrake so that kinda messes things up.
@@Fahrenheit_Motorsports thanks bro
