2024: ALL Silly, ALL Season

- 2024 is going to be ALL Silly ALL Season. Formula 1 Silly Season normally kicks off around summer break, but in 2023 we had an entire year with basically no silly season and now silly season is coming right at the start of 2024. I guess it's getting harder and harder to predict the seasons these days, or maybe it's La Nina.
Either way, Lewis Hamilton's shock move to Ferrari has got the mad scramble for seats under way and this is going to be the main story of 2024. Drivers scrambling to lock in contracts after good performances, and teams trying to lock down their star drivers so they don't get poached. With 13 seats available, there was bound to be some drama this season!

It doesn't get said enough: Most underrated F1 content. I appreciate this more serious breakdown-style video, love it!
Thanks a ton!
agreed
good theory on reasoning behind the Andretti denial
It's speculation but I can't see them wanting to deny Andretti entering so much as they don't want an eleventh team while they still have 2 teams on the grid who don't take it seriously.
The only toxic things about Ocon is people saying he's toxic.... This guys can't drive without being put against Top Driver. Prime Perez, Prime Ricciardo, Top Alonso. He's the ONLY driver on the grid who didn't face any rookies or "bad drivers" to shine. People were more impressed by Gasly puting 22-0 in qualy against Tsunoda than Ocon doing his job against Alonso... COME ON ! Stop overhyped Albon, He did nothing amazing that his Williams can't do. He win nothing. Ocon is still the only good drivers that didn't drive in a top 3 car in his career. All his generation did (Gasly, Albon, Leclerc, Sainz, Russell, Norris, Verstappen, Stroll) despite that, he got a win and multiple podiums. Put respect on his name, some drivers who get their chance just throw it away !
Gasly is far more toxic than Ocon btw... when he said to the media that Alpine can gain performance is they reduce the cockpit Size because Ocon got too much long arms to be comfortable (+9cm higher than Gasly)... I never read a single Tsuno complain about Ricciardo size (+20cm) or Hamilton about Russell (+12cm) Even Alonso who's shorter than Gasly didn't complain about this.
That's a mean way to talk to the media saying the Alpine could be better in performance if they reduce the cockpit size -_- Never see a more toxic driver than this...
Gwen Lagrue is the Manager of Ocon, the exact same manager of Russell, both under Toto Contract... Gwen Lagrue is in charge of Mercedes Talent, Russell, Ocon and Kimi Antonelli.
I will agree Gasly has those tendencies, I also understand he was kicked off red bull after being overheard yelling at the mechanics.
That said, Gasly doesn't have a reputation for racing his teammates too hard and crashing into them. Unfortunately for Ocon, he has that reputation and it will be very difficult to shed even after a full season of playing nice with Pierre in 2023.
Keep up the good work dude!
Thank you, always nice to hear!
I think it's way more likely that Ocon gets pushed out of Alpine than Gasly: Gasly is much more known in France, beat Ocon, and has done a good job imbedding himself into the team and gaining its support. Don't forget that Ocon has the link to Toto and not Gasly. I agree that one of them could very well end up in a Williams, but it probably more likely to be Ocon imo.
I don't think anywhere other than alpine would have ocon. Gasly has a better reputation hence why I think he will be the one to get out
I highly doubt alonso will go somewhere else because in a recent interview with sky sports alonso said he has a sense if loyalty to aston martin as they achieved so much during 2023 which is fair enough
He also said he's not going to sign for at least a few months. He's keeping his options open. No matter what happens he'll always have Aston.
@F1ENDS yea true I mean his contract with aston ends in 2025 so it's entirely possible that he will go to merc but I just don't see it happening
@@DanielHankin13 If he stays with Aston I bet we see him get a huge pay bump. Given what Ferrari spent on Hamilton, it's becoming clear that driver salaries are going to go insane so long as they're not included in the costcap and there's no salary cap.
Hamilton's move to mercedes wasn't as shocking or as genius as people like to think, lauda had explained that mercedes was very far ahead in engine development which convinced hamilton to move to mercedes. Hamilton knew that mercedes would be strong in 2014, it was an easy move for him.
If you look back at, for example, when Lewis was on Top Gear even Clarkson was giving him grief for it. Behind the scenes I'm sure Lewis was just laughing but publicly it seemed like a shock especially since he had been a McLaren driver since he was a child.
highly doubt norris would join red bull anytime soon, he basically said so himself. however a team like mercedes would be fun to watch, him and russell dueling for top dog
I can't see him leaving McLaren unless it's for red bull, but I don't think he would turn down the chance to be in the fastest car
@@F1ENDS agree mclaren are faster as it stands but going into 2026 best thing would be to drive for a works team.
Also on Red Bull, lando is scared of max lol. he rather “ build at mclaren “ than step into Max’s team
@@isakibrahim8316maybe, but it's also possible he wants to go test his mettle against the best. Him and Max are good buddies which would also make it more appealing.
I mean, Helmut said himself letting Sainz go was a big mistake. So why shoudln´t he go to Red Bull and replace Perez. Now Dani could go to Mercedes and Perez to AlphaTauri. Norris leaving McLaren after being the third fastest team sometimes second fastest is nonsense.
Red bull doesn't have the power to move checo to visa cash app RB since he's not part of the program
In 2025,I think
Red Bull: Tsunoda Verstappen
Mercedes: Russell Alonso
Ferrari: Leclerc Hamilton
McLaren: Norris Piastri
Aston Martin: Perez Drugovich
Alpine: Doohan Gasly
Williams: Albon Sargeant
RB: Ricciardo Lawson
Stake: Pourchaire Sainz
Haas: Hulkenberg Bearman
They could just fire him and pay out the contract. They have the money
Your take on Alpine drivers is an interesting one.
There must be something seriously wrong at alpine for people to keep jumping ship so soon after joining them. Given their performance relative to the rest of the pack, they should be a pretty appealing option to any ambitious driver - but I get the impression people get there and see a lack of ambition and want to move on right away.
Very interesting analyses of coming silly season. The norris clause and lewis leave makes that this season makes sure of 15- 16 possible changes in f1 come 2025. So, we have 24 races and max 16 seats to watch for in 2024... 😂
It's going to be a wild ride as teams rush to sign drivers, and drivers rush to sign with teams.
I think you’re one of the only one talking about the 2024 line up either way great video
I'm sure there are others
Amazing video and you earned a subscriber ❤❤
Thanks for the sub! Check out my "Race Weekend Update" videos after every race, this will be my third season doing them!
@@F1ENDS of course I will check out "Race Weekend Update" ☺️
All that driver to change just for Leclerc to secure his first wdc
Lol with Lewis as his teammate that first WDC is going to be that much harder
I have a little theory that I came up with that since lewis will join ferrari in 2025 the big question is who will replace him at mercedes? Could it be Sainz? Alonso? Albon? The move to ferrari by lewis certainly shocked everyone by ending a 12 years long relationship with mercedes and that leaves a big question on where will Carlos Sainz go for 2025, everyone has been theorizing that maybe he would replace lewis at mercedes and simply do a switch-a-roo, but by moving to ferrari lewis started a gigantic butterfly effect and my theory is that since one of the best options for sainz is to go to Stake for 1 seanson and wait for it to become audi, if it happens that will leave a very tempting seat open for alonso at mercedes and if that happens that will also leave a gap at the driver lineup at aston martin which could be filled by alex albon whose performance at williams during the 2023 season was simply outstanding but if all of that happens that would imply that one of the drivers of the stake f1 team would have to unfortunately leave for williams.
Hope you guys like my little theory 😄
Solid theory I love it
Will they paint the Black Arrows Silver again...???
Depends if they need the weight savings or not!
Only an idiot would believe that story.@@F1ENDS
Any chance you would do a video on your vintage merch in the back round that looks really interesting. Also waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better without the music
Thanks for the feedback.
There is a livestream of me putting all the stuff up (@rocketpoweredmohawk was the only viewer at one point) but I was planning to include a "what's on the wall" segment in my Race Weekend Update videos this season where my Dad talks about where he got the stuff. I inherited most of this collection from him.
@@F1ENDS mate that sounds absolutely dope I'll definitely listen to your old man discuss that. Keep up the good work boss I'm sure youll pop off when the season starts
That’s not true. Hulkenberg was kicking Haas’ door down to get that last seat last season. It was Haas or no seat. I think he’s just happy to have a seat and a second opportunity after being out a season. Magnussen I think is on his last season. I can’t see him on the grid beyond that.
I wish I had a source, but I had heard he was slated to get a drive at Sauber but Haas took the Second year option, so they kept Zhou. Been a while since I heard it so it's always possible that's wrong, but that was my understanding at the time I was writing this video.
I could see Alpine kicking Ocon out to ensure Gasly stays at the team. Maybe Perez replaces Ocon?
I don't think Gasly wants to stay at alpine, Ocon or no.
Sainz is a Audi driver
Sr?
Amazing video, perfect for dinner. Subbed :D
My videos make for great dinner. Low calories and featuring a snack!
Perfect video to play while eating dinner ; ).@@F1ENDS
valterri botas to v8 supercars
That would be pretty exciting
i see a 3rd team commming for sale once their stock drops from hamilton going to ferrari.
I can't see Mercedes selling lol but I can see them having a McLaren-after-Hamilton era
wait but isnt Daniel Riccardo aussie
Yes, that's why he said he's basically an honorary American, not an actual one
Correct
Albon to Mercedes Mick to williams would be fair
I don't think Williams wants Mick
Seb~!!!!
A man can dream
Hopefully Nico rosberg will return to f1 and go to Audi
He's been gone too long I just can't see it
@@F1ENDS there is still a chance
Vettel to Mercedes
That would be cool
