Yup, one of the issues with such monitors is that you need absolutely ridiculous specs, which 99% of people don't even have. FYI, I have an i9-9990K with an RTX 3080 with the game set on medium-to-high settings. Dropping it to low settings didn't make a big difference with my setup.
Thats because you are cpu bottlenecked at those insane high fps, because i do get 500+ fps most of the time on a slower gpu, the 6600xt, but with a ryzen 5 5600 cpu.@@TotallydubbedHD
@@budgetking2591 AMD GPUs have less "driver overhead". I don't know why, if it's a hardware vs. software scheduler thing, but Nvidia GPUs always perform worse when CPU-limited (i.e. both GPUs can handle the resolution, but the CPU is limiting). The lower the resolution, the bigger the advantage to AMD GPUs for the last few generations, also due to their cache system ("infinity cache"). Hardware Unboxed did a bunch of videos of it, search for Nvidia driver overhead. A 5700XT beats a 3090 in Watch Dogs: Legion with an older CPU, for example, and they're about equal in Horizon Zero Dawn with, again, an older CPU. "Older" meaning second generation Ryzen in that video, so not ancient. That's the older video, the newer one shows similar results (7900XTX easily beating the 4090 when CPU limited, otherwise the normal expected performance gap is seen - "esports" will of course always hit a CPU limit because the GPU isn't stressed by low settings): ruclips.net/video/H9guEsBly0I/видео.html

Wow , the people buying this monitor without insight like this would be pissed and want a refund. Choosing to wait for asus 540hz was a great move. This monitor is $599 on Amazon but after seeing this review , which is the truth i will not be purchasing

I currently have the 1080p Asus Rog Swift PG259QNR 360Hz, and want to upgrade from it. It's a great monitor, but I think it's time for me to try something better. The monitor I'm looking for needs to be doing great in all areas, mostly competitive gaming, but also productivity and great colors. 4k monitors is not of any interest. Three monitors that has caught my eyes are: PG27AQDM, PG27AQN and XL2566K.

I hope you will eventually one day review an ASUS TUF Gaming VG249QM1A since it's the most purchased one in my country and yet, I still couldn't find any reviews about it. Despite Asus being great at monitors, I actually would like to know whether it's worth it for 249€ or not. I've been stuck on a Samsung S27F350 for 3 years now and I really want to get something I wouldn't regret buying. I was actually blown away that this 500Hz monitor performed only at 5ms despite the refresh rate.
i just bought the ASUS TUF Gaming VG249QM1A for 233 EUR. Will arrive in the next days. I have the vg279qm qisda panel 280hz but its giving me problems after some months of usage. Artifacts using the hdmi and frequency bug to 85 and 144hz using the display port.
I got this monitor as a replacement for free by Alienware because my AW2521HFA broke it did so they replaced it with the AW2524HF because they didn’t had the other one in stock I’m on Xbox series x as well lol such a overkill monitor but I’m not sure keep it on custom color or use console mode what’s the benefit using console mode?

A year late to the party. Damn, i was excited because this one goes for 400€ locally. I'd gladly follow your advice with the OLED but unfortunately prices are still skyrocketing starting at double the Alienware, roughly 800€ for the cheapest ones. Funnily, the 500Hz one is cheaper than 360hz one and the 27'' (the 1080 not 1440) is slightly cheaper than both but i want to downsize from 27. Not that i need that refresh rate as i mainly play Apex which has 300fps engine cap and even if it didn't i don't think even 4090 would be able to push 500fps. Just seemed like a nice monitor for a reasonable price as there don't seem to be that many IPS monitors left locally (240-500hz) in general.

But i'll opt for 240hz OLED as you suggested, i stumbled across MSI MAG 271QPX which is not too bad at 700€. Alienware AW2725DF is just 50€ more so it'd be a battle between these two tho after this review i am not very positive with the Alienware stuff.

why don't you use G-Sync. there are a lot of commercials on RUclips for 500 hz + G-Sync nvidia, where there are no slow-motion hosting in the Valorant game 🤔

I can't find the freesync setting in the monitors OSD? Do I only need to enable freesync In amd adrenaline driver? And does anyone know if it works at both 480Hz and 500Hz?
I am using this monitor and I found this review not accurate. There are huge differences between response time options. Ufo test is useless, you can clearly see it while playing.
It seems like a good deal, but after watching optimums vid too it’s clear to see this is just a waste of money. Better to wait for one of the 540 second hand in 6 months and pay a bit more
OLED = ulmb 2 Perfect clarity without ghosts 🤔 why does everyone get tired of OLED monitors, maybe with ulmb 2 technology, too, fatigue. They work essentially on flicker technology, only on OLED it is constant

I run on 500 fps+ consistantly on low settings and low res on a ryzen 5 5600 + RX6600XT
