Do you maybe know is this monitor is using DSC compression even on HDMI? I'm curious because if yes and it's not toggable it's gonna be saddly a dealbreaker for someone with RTX
@@TotallydubbedHD Well if you have RTX 4000 series as a graphics card you are not able to use DLDSR while DSC is turned on. @@TotallydubbedHD Well I've just confirmed that DSC is only active when monitor is connected via the DisplayPort by asking the support. It's logicall that it would be that way but in the Gigabyte OLED the DSC is always active
@TotallydubbedHD yeah, btw, it only happens at 360hz, any other refresh rate is ok, I think it's an issue common to many 360hz monitors cause I found out the zowie has it too. It's not loud but still, noticeable and annoying, especially if you're young and with good hearing xD , I asked my dad and he doesn't hear anything at all, so it's subjective.
@nomecognome5050 well not subjective, just that your ears are more sensitive than your dad's ones. However, I've got very sensitive ears too (can still hear high pitched sounds, ie those that are used to ward off animals like moles), and can't recall hearing anything with this monitor.
@@TotallydubbedHD I just realized it's the monitor speakers, not coil whine ! by muting them in windows the annoying buzzing sound is gone ... weird issue, i think they pick up interference from the video signal since Hz affects it too
Great review. I was wondering with regard to oleds, the flicker only happens when VRR is on? Say we're just gaming around 30fps/60fps at 360hz but VRR is disabled, there shouldn't be any chance of flicker?

@TotallydubbedHD thanks for the reply When the pc is off long pressing turns it off, when the pc is on long pressing does not do any thing, do I need to point it (up, down, left , right) while I press it?

Hi can you please help me, i'm stuck if i should buy this monitor since i doesn't have a setting for Uniform Brightness, is that a big issue in SDR or HDR gaming or watching movies, shows or just browsing online? I'm stuck between this monitor and a different WOLED monitor since that one has Uniform Brightness setting. Thanks for reading :)
@@TotallydubbedHD Thanks for the quick response. What about in a game with snow for example or bright rooms or white backgrounds. Again thanks for the response!
@craveninja8803 that shouldn't be a problem, it's only to do with windows being open for a long time, and you can only really notice it (where applicable on any monitor) on the desktop.
Yes, at least once a day when I try to turn it off by holding down the button for 3 seconds, a message about pixel refreshing appears instead of turning off. I still haven’t figured out the logic behind why sometimes it just turns off and other times it doesn’t.
I love the white/silver design, dont really need 360hz tho. I'm considering selling my 55'' LG C3 because I just prefer desk gaming but I wonder how much less is it going to feel not being 4k, especially for ps5 gaming, should I go for a 32'' 4K monitor, will this be enough, man I just cannot decide!!!
thoughts on this versus Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG? They're roughly the same price in my region. Philips is a bit cheaper. Seeing as you have abit of experience with both of these which one would you recommend? I mostly play shooters and adventure games if that matters :) Thanks!
Is this monitor worth it for someone who'll mostly be gaming on PS5 with 30fps story-driven games with some PC gaming as well on the side? Note: space is a concern so 27'' is the max and both the PS5 and PC will be connected to the same monitor.
You did sell me on this one but since its 360hz. I do am concerned how it will play and look at 60hz as i don't have a capable gpu and play mostly single player games. Like there are games that don't go above 90 fps... i am worried i will deal with that blurriness
If it's set to the maximum 360Hz, then you don't have to worry even though you might not run higher FPS. The 60Hz results ONLY really apply if you set the monitor to 60Hz (ie via a console).
So 240hz oled vs 360hz oled, big difference? or is the difference small due to the low response time of oled technology? I mean if both of them went to 240 fps will they give same performance/motion or not?

@ already done… I’m using it with a Mac Mini M1. It’s strange because it happens randomly, like yesterday that was really frequent and making almost unusable the Mac, then today it works fine. I’ll wait some days to see then I’ll decide what to do with it. Thanks anyway
@@LC_24793 can't comment on that, maybe how it behaves with MAC, or should I say how an Apple device is picky lol
Thank you for the review!
Does the Smart Size screen setting features custom screen resolutions with 1 to 1 pixel ratio (24.5" 1332p modes like on similar 1440p OLEDs from other brands?)
From memory, yes, but double check the manual. Glad you enjoyed the review!
Will they release a 480hz model?
No idea!
Do you maybe know is this monitor is using DSC compression even on HDMI? I'm curious because if yes and it's not toggable it's gonna be saddly a dealbreaker for someone with RTX
Not sure, but why woudl that be a deal breaker?
@@TotallydubbedHD Well if you have RTX 4000 series as a graphics card you are not able to use DLDSR while DSC is turned on. Also while alt-tabbing from fullscreen with DSC turned on the screen will go black for even like 5 seconds which is not great. Sure I can play in borderless (which I always prefer) but no every game can run in the borderless fullscreen (mostly older games).
@@YairdaPon oh interesting, never knew this! No issues with my RTX 3080 though
@@TotallydubbedHD Well I've just confirmed that DSC is only active when monitor is connected via the DisplayPort by asking the support. It's logicall that it would be that way but in the Gigabyte OLED the DSC is always active

I noticed this monitor has coil whine issues, when I use it at night in a silent room it's really annoying. Am I the only one? is mine defective?
Might be very very faint, not shouldn't be loud at all
@TotallydubbedHD yeah, btw, it only happens at 360hz, any other refresh rate is ok, I think it's an issue common to many 360hz monitors cause I found out the zowie has it too.
Thank you!
Good question, I didn't notice any flicker at lower FPS, but also wasn't looking out for it lol.
But in theory it shouldn't flicker with what you described.
@@TotallydubbedHD cheers
Its a really nice monitor, I can't figure out how to turn it off the white light just keeps blinking

Have you tried the ASUS XG27AQDMG, and if so, how do the colours / black levels compare to that glossy WOLED monitor? Really tempted to get this one, even though I already have the ASUS.
Check the channel to see if it's been covered!
it says on the amazon description that it has a matt coting ? is it definitely glossy ?
Don't trust Amazon
Can the lights automatically change colour based on the content on screen though??
Yup
@TotallydubbedHD Thanks. And it works without restrictions? Like VRR needs to be disabled?

Hi can you please help me, i'm stuck if i should buy this monitor since i doesn't have a setting for Uniform Brightness, is that a big issue in SDR or HDR gaming or watching movies, shows or just browsing online? I'm stuck between this monitor and a different WOLED monitor since that one has Uniform Brightness setting. Thanks for reading :)
Wasn't problematic for me on this monitor, but something to be mindful about if you're constantly moving windows.
@@TotallydubbedHD ohh ok greats, thanks for responding, i'm probably gonna buy the monitor then
what's the best settings? should i use hdr? thanks
Only use HDR in games/movies that support it.
Am I going mad or is this thing annoying to turn off?
Shouldn't be an issue?
Yes, at least once a day when I try to turn it off by holding down the button for 3 seconds, a message about pixel refreshing appears instead of turning off. I still haven’t figured out the logic behind why sometimes it just turns off and other times it doesn’t.
@@Marcomoav I still get this... I need to ring Phillips :) I just unplug it otherwise
@@Marcomoav that's likely because you need to do a pixel refresh and have ignored it, thus it happens (or should happen) when it goes on standby.
@@SJHD if you're using a monitor, 26.5" 1440p imo is going to be really sharp Vs 55" 4K. Simple ppi differences there lol

@@SJHD that really baffles me, as it should. Maybe it's what you're used to lol.
thoughts on this versus Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG?
They're roughly the same price in my region. Philips is a bit cheaper. Seeing as you have abit of experience with both of these which one would you recommend? I mostly play shooters and adventure games if that matters :)
Thanks!
Title of this video should give it away :)
Can you review the Philips Evnia 27M2N3500NL (1440p 180hz VA)
Potentially!
Do you maybe know if they will release a black version with same specs and price of course?
I don't think so!
Is this monitor worth it for someone who'll mostly be gaming on PS5 with 30fps story-driven games with some PC gaming as well on the side? Note: space is a concern so 27'' is the max and both the PS5 and PC will be connected to the same monitor.
Anything above 144hz is pointless for console only gamers. But, it is a great price for the kit.
4 year warranty that covers burn in correct ?
3 year yes
You did sell me on this one but since its 360hz. I do am concerned how it will play and look at 60hz as i don't have a capable gpu and play mostly single player games. Like there are games that don't go above 90 fps... i am worried i will deal with that blurriness
If it's set to the maximum 360Hz, then you don't have to worry even though you might not run higher FPS. The 60Hz results ONLY really apply if you set the monitor to 60Hz (ie via a console).
Set to 360hz with vrr enabled and forget about it
So 240hz oled vs 360hz oled, big difference? or is the difference small due to the low response time of oled technology? I mean if both of them went to 240 fps will they give same performance/motion or not?
It's more to do with extra fluidity. It's noticeable imo
Wonder how this compares to Aorus FO27Q3

I don’t think there are any 4k monitors with a 360hz refresh rate or lot Oled ones anyway. Not even a 4090 would be able to render those resolutions and frame-rates in any demanding game. You’d be limited to older titles to get anywhere near that.
