I have been fighting severe prostate pain for almost a week. I have done almost everything including getting a prescription and taking saw palmetto. Nothing has really worked. I watched this video about a day or so ago and started intermittent fasting. Within a day the pain has subsided by at least 90%. I ate a keto friendly meal last night and don't plan on eating until lunch today. I am thankful I found this video.

Had BPH & frequent urination problems. Been on Keto for about 40 days. Have lost significant internal fat. Volume of urine has doubled and frequency much less. Sometimes even sleep through the night now. Haven't done that in decades. (I'm 70). Breathing and joint movement, inflammation, and pain all improved. Strict keto and intermittent fasting has helped so much. Haven't felt this good in years. Listen to Dr. Berg, he knows his stuff. My other doctors, not so much. Thanks doc.

I want to share what worked for me after saw palmetto and stinging nettle were not working much. I quit milk 100%, and I included a heaping teaspoon of coconut oil in my morning 2 cups of coffee. I was also doing low carbs and fasting, but the game changer was the coconut oil. Suddenly I started sleeping all night, and I don't have urgency to go urinate. I use the coconut oil that costco sells. Hope it help's you.

Dr. Berg (as usual) is spot on. I've cut way back on Carbs, I had my Gall Bladder taken out years ago, though not necessarily on a Keto Diet because bile production without one is a bit tricky for me, and a high fat intake is somewhat problematic and too much fat, as prescribed on Keto, causes stomach distress. Just have to find what works for you, but cutting way back on carbs really alleviated my BPH syptoms.

  • @RobCLynch

What's really interesting about this is that I was diagnosed with bph in 2017 and I've been on Tamsulosin since then. However, a recent illness convinced me to stop taking the meds and it just so happened to coincide with me practising a 16:8 Intermittent Fasting regime. And guess what? Things seem to have improved somewhat. What I can say for sure is that my urine flow is no worse than when I was taking tamsulosin!

Exercise --or physical activity in general-- is also important. Following the mantra of "drink a lot of water" without doing hard core exercise just puts all the pressure on the bladder to expell water (as opposed to sweat) and affects the adjacent prostrate, which allows for problems to develop. Keto, IF and solid exercise is the trifecta that works for prostrate health. I found out the hard way by sitting long hours at work with no gym time during this lockdown farce.

If memory serves alcohol is supposed to have "estrogenic effects", for example male alcoholics may have much less hair loss compared to teetotal types. So, according to mainstream theory you may have been drinking too little to protect your prostate. Anyway, that is the end of the good news, with all the sugar, tissue damage etc from alcohol it is good riddance. What does not compute very well is that keto over 3 years has not reduced your weight? That would be very unique

you're sure you're not dehydrating during your fasting, which naturally keeps you from urinating? Also, considering you're probably are eating copious amounts of dal, I would like to add one more datapoint: according to some sources, the kind of benefit one might get by avoiding milk, it is multiplied if one avoids dal/lentils/beans etc. As if the (hard to digest) proteins in the pulses triggers the various enlargements. I'd be interested to hear if you have some theory for your diabetes too, do you think it was overeating?

Doctor l think a initial prostate infection is the trigger of BPH maybe for atypical germens like chlamydia or other common like E coli. After that there's a problem in prostate because it contracts due to different hormones ...there's a problem because the prostate can not relax its smooth muscle which is easy to achieve with alfa blocker or sildenafil

I have dealt with these problems for years. I found that antihistamines were the major cause of my problems. When I stopped using them, there was a big improvement, but not fixed. Then I found that diet sodas make it so I cannot pee too, so I stopped that. Then was the other problem, getting up six to ten times a night to go. My friend bought me some Aloe Vera Gel and said to take eight full tablespoons every night. The very first night that I did this, I had slept all night for the first time in over fifteen years. It was so good to have a good nights sleep. Also, I don't eat sugar either.

It was so frustrating that I got on youtube to search for some type of answers and possible relief. This video states that intermediary fasting and a keto diet will help with urination problems. Somewhere along the way my body must be responding differently because on July 19, 2021, I started intermittent fasting and a low card diet. Amazingly, in the first 5 days, I lost 11 pounds. I do not cheat and am very disciplined following my diet and fasting schedule. I’m confused to say the least 🤷🏻‍♂️

In actual fact I think stress is the biggest contributing factor to any body problems. The body is capable of keeping itself in balance if stress is at a minimum.
I started having prostate pain some months ago with urination problems. It got steadily worse over time. Finally one day some weeks back it was so bad from early in the morning I wanted to scream. I literally could not control my bladder and the pain was so bad I considered going to the ER.
Late in the afternoon I started thinking about all the stress I was under and I suddenly cognited (realized) that the stress was the cause of my body problems. The prostate pain started subsiding immediately and I slept well that night.
I have been completely pain free ever since then and have little trouble with urination.

In ketosis, my bran fog has improve a little, fatigue went worse.. my I have gallbladder pain and i dont know why it was not improve in time.. depressions was same like before I started do keto. Urinary problems - same.. I dont know why i did wrong.. I eate fermented food, LOT of raw salad and another vegg. Very few of fruits.. nuts.. healthy fats and oils.. But my prostate (I feel it is enlarged) was not improve.. even after 21 days of pure fasting.. If it is in gut or liver (gallblader) why my gut does not heal after I give up grains, rafined carbs, high sugar diet. Or liver.. i did not drink alcohol or ate too much fruits to not heal a fatty liver if I have it. I am taking HCL pills to help digestive. But still have same problems.. I wanna be healthy and enjoy that one meal per day and sometimes helthy snack like MCT coffe or dark chocolate.. I love that kind of life style but I dont have energy and my problems are not better.. Fasting to lose weight, but my prostate issues were unexpectedly solved overnight. All my symtoms were 100% due to Insulin Resistance causing excess insulin causing inflammation. Watch Dr. Jason Fung.
The cure is to allow your body to process and remove insulin between meals, to lower levels. Confine your eating to 8 or less continuous hours each day, preferably 6, or 4.

Problem in my opinion with the DHT test: Did these test subject have an enlarged prostate before testing? Beside controlling or adjusting insulin levels are you also saying the same thing should be done of a man's testosterone levels? Are you also saying that the many surgeries (removal of etc.) is not necessary if insulin can be control? Once enlarged can a simple KETO / IF life style reverse the issue? Seems "time" (too long with this often over looked condition) can weaken and destroy the bladder's ability and leave the man with catheterization forever.
