  • I noticed that my washing machine was making a strange noise, and when I opened the lid I saw that the agitator was behaving erratically, and essentially not functioning. It was a quick and cheap repair using the parts linked below.

    Great video! Replaced these while replacing the motor coupler on my washer. Both were disentigrated and washer was a paperweight becuase of the coupler... Now the washer purs like a cat. 👍

      Whatever you do DON'T GET RID OF YOUR WASHER. They DO NOT make them like this anymore, all new washers are very cheaply made and DO NOT WASH well or use enough water. You will never be able to find something like this ever again! I repeat, whatever you do, keep your old fashioned washing machine as long as you can

    This video was amazing, I found it to see why my agitator wasn't working correctly and in no time I had it working like new. I have an appliance parts store that's only about a mile away and the price of the dogs was only about a dollar more than ordering them online. The other thing that was amazing is the washer and dryer in the video were the exact ones that we have! Also, the tile on the floor in front of the washer and dryer is the exact same thing that we have!!! That video could have been done in our laundry room, I wish I could add a picture. Thanks, Jim

    Thank you very much. I’ve had kenmore 70 series for 25 years. Still kicking it because of you. Works amazing.

      Got the parts in. Turns to right and teeth grab with turn to left. That was an issue, but not entire issue. The motor spline stem the unit sits on is turning slowly. Maybe it’s finally trash. Whole agitator at bottom also does not turn at bottom.

      am really sad that i have to let go of my moms old kenmore 70 series heavy duty, i really like how it takes less time to wash and it actually turns the clothes around, not like the new impellers

      @@CaptNemo_ these are not hard to fix if that is a consideration.

      Keep it as long as you can, you will not be able to find anything remotely close to it ever again. The new washers are agitatorless and built very cheaply. They are all computer controlled and break within a year or two. They do not make them like this video anymore. Whatever you do, keep your old school washer

    We have same Kenmore washer and dryer set. There about 30 years old but still work. Have done some of the same repairs. All these parts are still sold on ebay at a fraction of local stores.

    We used to have a used model just like that and the agitator was starting to act like that one but the motor let out the magic blue smoke before i had a chance to fix it and i never did see how it works. Thanks for the info.

    Hello Dustin! Thank you for making this video. My little plastic pieces were pretty bad and you really made it easy for me to do. I do have a question, do you have a video on how to work/fix the bottom agitator? Mine still will not turn from the base. I read where it might be the belt or coupler to the transmission. Any thoughts on that?
    Thank you for your time!

    • @DustinRogersinMO
      @DustinRogersinMO  2 года назад

      There is a coupler between the motor and the transmission which is a common failure component. It’s a cheap part (amzn.to/3HuO0jn), but unfortunately I don’t have a video on replacing that. I know there are some videos on RUclips showing the process. It’s possible it could be a transmission issue too, and there are a few transmission rebuild videos available. The kit for that (amzn.to/3qJezKW) comes with the parts that typically wear out in these transmissions.

    I’m trying to fix the bottom agitator. It’s under the washer I guess I got to see what’s going on. My agitator is only wanting to go one way not back-and-forth

    You can just order agitator assembly and be one and done for these machines.

    I don't have a bolt in mine. There is a smooth metal circle at the bottom of the shaft, but no bolt or screw head. Is there an older model design? Every video says undo the bolt. It doesn't look like anything was broken off.

    • @starrionx1
      @starrionx1 9 месяцев назад

      So my assembly was square and screwed onto a bolt that was underneath the basket. I had to MacGyver a square approximately 3/4" to break the cage loose, and I was then able to proceed with a successful repair.
