White bass are the most fun I have ever had. Fished them for many years. After several years of learning how to catch them, it got to where it was a bad day if we didn't catch at least 100 between 2 of us. They can also be some of the funniest fish to catch. Some days you can do everything wrong and still catch them, other days moving from the back of the boat to the front while anchored would mean the difference in not catching and catching them. looking forward to getting my wife and kids on some this year.

White bass are great for lure testing. What they eat, the rest of other species will. And since they're open yr round, excuse for me to go fishing. Also, they really do not eat anything as people project them to be. Where I fish they're abundant but super picky in the Midwest. Some days it's silent cranks and jerks, some days it's finesse fishing with plastics and hair jigs, and some days it's the loudest lure you have. Sad Rapala discontinued the clackin' series...
A wind protected bay on the north side of the lake after ice out... a day or two of sun will warm the shallow water which attracts the small bait fish... white bass will be right behind them.

I love using 2 inch keitech paddle minnow on 1/16th jig head, caught a giant 18 1/2 inch 3 pound white bass!

How does that loop knot compare to the surgeon's loop know? Is strength that same? Ok on fluorocarbon?

They would probably adapt well, especially in NorCal lakes.
Only lake you will find them in is lake Nascimento.
