      @@jlmize1507 you locate the white bass in the creeks and rivers on the northern sides of your lakes. I dont know if you have white bass in your area or not. Check your local lake laws and limits and will tell you if you do or not.

    Nice video bro, I watched you other videos and had the bait you suggested and one day had 21 white bass. However, the past Friday got nothing at the same place same time, so I am wondering must be the weather. So could you advise what would be the good weather for white bass bites, in terms of cold, wind, sunshine or rainy and such. Thanks again

    • @903fishing
      @903fishing  2 года назад

      Usually when a cold snap happens like this. The white bass are still in the creeks, they go deep. So your soft plastics are not in “the strike zone”. I suggest crawfish on bottom. However, a day or two of good (warmer) weather will make them come up shallower in the water column. Thanks for watching and the support! God bless

    Our sandbass run will start within a month. I'm in Dallas so I fish get bombarded by lures. You have really downsize everything to get them to bite. 4lb line will outfish 8lb line by 75%. A 1 1/4 fluke will outfish anything over 2 inches. I have tie on very small weighted bobber to get any distance on my cast. The fish in the lakes are not that skittish but they become extremely picky once they hit the creeks. Years of fishing my creek has taught me downsize if you want to get bit.

    • @903fishing
      @903fishing  3 года назад +1

      Complete opposite strategy over here. I’m only a few hours east of you. When they get in the creeks, they will dang near bite anything. As long as you catching, that’s all that matters. What does the line have to do with the fish biting the lure? I have caught 1000’s of white bass on that white ice fluke jr that is 3 inches long. Crazy how fish have different characteristics in different lakes/creeks. Thanks for watching! God bless

    Excellent info. Loved the tips. One thing I caught that I was confused on, that being the speed of current on inside and outside bends I believe that the faster current is typically on the outside of the bends an not the inside. Inside bends being slower allow the sand and silt to drop out of suspension as the water is congested trying to turn the tight corner, therefore leaving sand bars on inside bends. The swifter water on the outside bends cuts more easily into the outside bends leaving deeper water and steep or vertical banks.

      Actually, I think you're both right...As the channel comes down the river bed and meets a bend, it usually crosses the bed from the center or the inside of the bend and hits the outside wall of the bend somewhere along the course of the turn. Exactly where depends on the size of the river, how sharp the bend is, where the channel is in the river bed coming into the bend, and probably a million or so other things I'm not smart enough to figure out! In any case, slack water, eddies, and back-currents won't be hard to spot. Stay safe!

    So this was a GREAT video. Too many fishing videos are just watching some great/fun footage of catches, and minimal instructions. While this was primarily white bass oriented, it is excellent advice for any creek fishing. I usually catch white bass from shore on Lake Erie during runs, but now I’m going to try it in rivers too. Thanks a lot

    Fantastic video, the camera work where you would point to areas on the creek was perfectly done. I went out twice in the last 10 days, caught 10 the first time and got 4 more last night. 15" and a 17" female were caught already about 5 miles up from the lake. I caught them all on Mepps Minnows. Big fan of the spinners for white bass (Rooster Tails as well)

    Thanks Caleb! I’m heading down to the Sabine, North of Toledo Bend in two weeks ( middle of March) hoping to catch some sand bass. These tips should help. I’ve been twice before in February and it rain about 9” the night before we arrived both times and the river flooded and was very dirty. Hopefully March will work better. Any other tips you have will be appreciated.
