Looked like a lot of fun. In rivers like that I usually lose a lot of lures on underwater snags.
I am surprised you didn't snag a bass or a crappie. I'm thinking they should be some up in the creek as well by this time down south.
OMG don't use Cayenne, Crushed Red Pepper has much more flavor IMO 🙂 Paprika is always good, it is just a dried crushed pepper after all, and I prefer the smoked paprika if you can find it. Oh BTW, pretty sure that shrimp boil has Cayenne already in it.
Justin Wilson made an almost black rue, I like it the way you made it... not black.
Must be a million good recipes for Gumbos, all good. Add dried crushed sassafras and you have a Filé Gumbo.
It is believed that the word Gumbo originated as a W African word for Okra. I have made it (my version) from scratch a few times but it is a lot of work.
Chives is a good substitute for Parsley BTW.
My Gumbo usually uses a lot of leftovers 🙂
Leave out sassafras, okra, and cook the rice in the pot with the gumbo and you have Jambalaya.
Leave out sausage and okra but definitely have shrimp or crawfish severed over separately prepared rice and you have étouffée.
Not Cajun but I have been around a while.
    Love your videos, Thanks!

I just use iMovie on a MacBook Air and a GoPro hero8. I believe that’s all you need to get started!

Keep making videos, I always like to see real and personal fishing/hunting videos rather than some big TV show.

I'm gonna try not to cry. Bro. I'm SO JEALOUS. LOL. I just drove from Shreveport to the Sabine near Carthage and then Joaquin. Dude. From 8 am to almost 4 pm I caught a GRAND TOTAL OF TWO WHITE BASS! Wtf?I need to find a CREEK. WHERE ARE THE CREEKS? Any off the Sabine or in East Texas or do I have to go to the Neches in Chandler? I'm trying to stay within an hour or so of home. Anybody? I have scoured Google Earth and have NO CLUE where the eff these creeks are. I fished at the 59N boat ramp. Yellow Dog boat launch. And FINALLY caught ONE off the bank at McFadden Landing near Joaquin. I'd almost pay for good advice y'all. Today was my first trip to Texas since covid. Was I too early? Nobody caught crap. Even from the boats. I'm stuck on the banks. The very first trip I ever took to fish the white bass run was to River Ridge in 2017. I caught 54 without even trying. I'm really serious. I need to hit the whites again. So. Much. Fun. If it sounds like I'm begging ...yeah....maybe...

I don’t fish that far north much, I know they are on the Neches. You should get on a used kayak and really open up your options.

Find a lake like anywhere, there will be a creek feeding into it or at least a river.
