The best way to eat white bass, fillet it, skin it. Drench it in pepper. Cover in hot sauce….Get an ice cold beer. Drink the beer throw the fish in the trash and order a pizza.
Thanks for the fishing lessons friend, someday I will return to my beautiful Alabama, to go back to fishing in its beautiful rivers. Thank you for taking us to your beautiful home. God bless you
Great video fam!!!! I had a rough February , I lost my aunt two days before my birthday on the 18th then tweaked my shoulder pretty bad after that so seeing you in the good ole stomping grounds made me feel good!!! Keep ‘em coming
Those were huge beautiful white bass. I know it had to be fun catching them. I hope Jay gets to feeling better very soon. God bless you and your whole family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙏😊🙂😀
Love this video great job Cole. Love how the white bass bite and fight its a great feeling. Keep up the great videos. Hope you get to feeling better Jay.
You caught a great stringer of fish, and they sure did look delicious when they were cooked and plated ! 😋 Cypress is a handsome little boy, and he looked so comical with the tongue sticking out ! 😀 I hope Jay is feeling better today and will feel like hitting the water again soon ! 🙂🙏
We used to catch them below the lock and dam at Ozark, AR. Big ole white has up to 3lbs! They'd break the surface in schools the size of a football field. How fun! Great show Jay.
That looks so tasty I can't stand it!! Great video of the new lure in action and those are some good looking white bass! Thanks for sharing Cole, nice to see Cypress and hope Jay's pregnancy is coming along well and she's feeling okay. I gotta go get something to eat now.... 😋
@@COLE_and_JAY I’m going to say the crappie have moved on, 4 hrs fishing for them and I caught 3 very small crappie near the bottoms. Think I’ll wait for the creeks to warm up and/or see a crappie thumbnail on the Cole & Jay RUclips channel before I target them again!! Good luck to you guys!
Greatjob on catchingsome whitebass Cole an i hope an pray that the slab queen get to feeling better soon, an can out fish you again lol. Your biggest fan Kevin rollins.
My grandfather and I used to go out in a boat, and would run into whites schooling and eating shad off a small island. It was nothing to catch 100 or more. I love the fight of the white bass.
Good stuff. Can't wait for the white bass run up here in MN! Still got snow so a few more weeks. You should try white or yellow rooster tail spinners. That's what we use up here. No plastic getting lost at all.
Really love your videos. You always keep it fun and exciting. Sorry Jay wasn't feeling well enough to come with you. She would have knocked it out of the park. Your videos are good because toy keep them down to earth. Unfortunately, my fishing days have been drastically cut short for now, so I'm living my fishing days, vicariously through you and Jay, and Creek Fishing Adventures. You are both top notch tubers. I look forward to your new videos with a child like anticipation. Fishing is by far my favorite past time, but I am going through chemo therapy right now for pancreatic cancer, and it makes me extremely sensitive to the cold. COME IN SPRING!! God bless you and Jay. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of your new child. You have done such an awesome job with Cy. He is growing up so fast and he's happy.
I caught some white bass that came in at seven teen inch's long. Wow. Absolutely amazing to me. Two times this year I have limited on white bass and crappie in the same day. Maybe once in a lifetime thing. ! Man those bass finally made me go to s much heaver rig. I had to break out the amazing 606 and boy did it make it easier. I had to lift them five feet to get them up on the deck
Yum,3in white twister tail grub is the best bait here in middle Tennessee that I've fished with, got a honey hole I've fished for 30 plus yrs and it's always produced hundreds,a few of them yrs some huge rockfish (stripers) came with the white bass and were caught by me and some friends, one friend caught a 3.5 lb white bass and a 37lb rockfish out of the same hole within minutes of the other,it's definitely a fun time for us here when they're running, keep on fishin' bud!
Cole great fishing day!first time that I have seen them cooked up like that, looked very good, and Jay hope you get feeling better soon, enjoy the the fish plate , Rockport, tx bye
I love the white bass run. I fish for them every year down here in Southern ky. Haven't been yet though. Like you, i was thinking it was still early , but I might be wrong. It's supposed to be cold this week, but after this week it should really turn on. Best bait I've ever used for them, is a little bitty Popeye panfish jig on a floater. Give it a try sometime and you will be suprised!
You should definitely keep a few next time! When you clean them, I’d recommend trimming off the thin layer of red meat. It makes them taste way better when you do that!
@@COLE_and_JAY yea I've heard that red meat is what you want to get rid of. But I've never tried you're method of the poor man's lobster. I love that style of meat. Just never knew you could turn our fish into it. Like i like crab, lobster, you know the firm meat. And the butter. I've only ate lobster 2 times in my life. Because it's so exspensive. But I'll tell you what. After watching your striper and white bass cooks. I'm Convinced. I'm Defintly 100% gonna try it. And It's gonna be within the next 2 days.
I bet gar would be good that way. I've just plain boiled catfish and dipped in butter. yum. ... You should do a gar catch and cook and just fry it for the first go. ... I've binge watched most of you catch and cooks. And Subbed!
Wrap the shank of your jighead with dental floss 10-12 wraps towards hook point then backtrack towards head with same amount of turns. Tie a double granny knot and clip off excess tag. Apply super glue and it will last much longer. I suggest Loctite in either the blue or red bottle since it's got water resistant qualities.
@Cole & Jay I've tried super gluing just the shank and putting plastic on and it works for a little while but eventually wears off. Using dental floss makes it almost impossible for fish, especially crappie, to take that jig off the jighead since the glue bonds with dental floss which in turn the plastic bonds with the dental floss covered with glue.
I got Me some underspins to go after the Crappies with. We have White bass up here in WI too. I have caught some 15 inchers and wow they put up quite a fight ! In Our lake here they seem to hang out with the Crappies.
there is a little creek North East of Houston called peach Creek on a state park that is very similar to the one in this video that fills up with white bass this time if year.
We used to catch white bass in Texas and in Henderson Swamp, here in Louisiana, many many years ago, now. They were so much fun to catch. One time, we were fishing on a point and I hooked a fish. When I pulled it out of the water, I saw that I had snagged the White Bass on its back. When I went to get it into the boat, I noticed that the fish was still "swimming" as though it didn't even realize it had been caught! It was amazing to see and funny, as well. The fish was perfectly balanced. It didn't fight, or try to get away. I removed the hook and let the fish go, as we would catch and release what we caught, but the White Bass are very delicious fish to eat. I forget what they are called in Texas and here. Question--How can you tell which of the fish are males?
If you're keeping that size, you can cut the fillets into thirds and have 36 decent sized nuggets out of six fish. I've noticed they cook up a little better when the fillets aren't so big. Now that I bought me a 5 gallon bayou classic fryer it's no big deal I can cook up whatever size I want now. Cooked up almost 40 pcs of crappie and 3lbs of fry's and 2lbs of hushpuppies in like 15 minutes
Thanks for picking me. Things like that scare me. Love and prayers. My fave RUclips Chanel
Awesome video, what makes it best was having the fam involved, God Bless you and your crew!
