Dad and I used to chase these HUGE schools of WB that were chasing like sized schools of shad out in front of Falcon Lake State Park. I'm talking they covered half of a football field sized area. They would break and sound several times in 5 to 10 minutes... Great times!
There is a place in Three Rivers about 1 hour south of San Antonio. Go to the park where the spillway(waterfall) is and fish there. When the fish are running that place is full of people. After the whitebass run is over the gaspergou run.
Me and a few guys caught a hundred white bass on Lake Somerville near Brenham off a boat, trolling. But there are countless lakes to go to nearer to you and in and around San Antonio. Canyon Lake for example has fish but I think is more of a boater tourist lake but yah you can fish it. Lake Buchanan is somewhere over there. Lake Travis. Smaller lakes that might be less busy and not as pressured. Down south on the border, Lake Amistad, my dad had a few great trips there too.
And a ton of public lakes if not all public lakes in Texas have bank fishing access. Some better than others, sure yes but most any publicly accessible lake you find will allow bank fishing.
oh you meant just fishing in general, lol, thought you meant white bass specifically because of this video. Yah, again, there’s tons of public spots, yes even in and around San Antonio besides what I mentioned in my other comments. The main idea in Texas is figuring out whether a pond or a lake or a creek is privately owned or if it has public access. I recommend google mapping it for spots and then find out if the spot is public or private. Definitely lots of state parks over there, near San Antonio, Georgetown, Austin, Bastrop, et cetera, off of I-35 and i-95 and other major roads, not too far off the beaten path. Tight lines and good luck!
Hey brother! Fellow white bass chaser from the 417. If you want to try another bait that’s a trusty one try a Charlie Brewer Slider pearl white with chartreuse tail on a 3/8 to 1/4 oz jig head. That’s my go to for when these whites are full running. Love the content!

Nice! I’ve been waiting for someone to tell me the spawn is on lol. How can males be ID’d so quick on sight? Or is it just assumed only males are in the creeks this early
Squeeze em and you'll see. Lol
They will be longer and more narrow. The females will be over all bigger and have eggs. They are very visible. And yes males do go in the creeks before the females to get nest ready. Same as crappie.
We always caught them on Beetle Spins really good, if under the birds on a silver Rattle Trap!
I have never used a beetle spin! Might have to try that!
@@903fishing they are an excellent lure for crappy, white bass, black bass, and I have e Ben caught catfish on them!
Im fixing to go out on my kayak. Here in north central Texas
Go get them! Thanks for watching! God bless
I just caught my first white bass last weekend on a 4” paddle tail in a white ice color. I thought it was small until I looked up how big they are.
Yes sir! When they hit your lure, it’s something else! Very addicting! Thanks for watching! God bless
What lake are you on?
Mostly lake Palestine and lake Tyler!

Bigger bait translate bigger fish. Great video!
Typically that's how it works! Thanks for watching! God Bless
Bigger bait = less fish

And no, I have plenty of white bass fishing spots close to me, no reason for me to drive that far!
Very Nice. But would have been much better if Ms ACC/Ms 903 was there.
Too cold for Mrs. ACC to make an appearance. She willl be out with me soon enough! Thanks for watching! God bless
@@903fishing And keep fishing
Nice, could you please share the bank location if you don’t mind. Thanks
This creek is located off lake Palestine! Thanks for watching! God bless
@@903fishing thanks and what size of the hook do you recommend or use? 1/4 or 3/8? Thanks
@@victorliu5665 1/8th oz jig head!
@@903fishing thanks I got all those. One last question I have, I saw you place the tail up which is the same side as hook. Or this doesn’t matter.
@@victorliu5665 I have been told I was wrong either way. Lol just find a way that it catches fish and you will be good. Both ways will catch fish brother
I was there yesterday got my limited in 3 hrs huge fish running now
Yes sir! That’s awesome! Congrats! Thanks for watching
You got me wantin me to try my creeks now lol
Yes sir you being in Tennessee, might be a few weeks behind behind me! It never hurts to go try it out! Thanks for watching! God bless
Some them resemble hybrids with the broken lines and multiple lines going to the tail
All white bass. One line extending to the tail!
Both species often have broken lines and some lines extending to the tail. The ONLY true way to tell the difference is the tooth patch on the tongue. Whites have a single tooth patch and wipers have 2.
@@mattratliff2042 yes on tooth patch
