You remind me a lot of fighting cowboy and I mean that as a compliment. Knowledgeable, Informative, direct and to the point, not afraid to break formality and speak freely here and there, doesn’t waste the viewers time.
It is not suggested to move your ability points from wisdom into strength to benefit from tavern brawler in wild shape form, since str is determined from your wild shape form directly, and your str gets overridden. A great fest choice though.
So I made a druid circle of the moon, also made a beastmaster and a paladin that are in my pen for now. It took me a little bit to get the hang of him but he is getting better. Thank you again for these videos... keep them coming please
It's not explained in the Character creator but Background effects your Influence Points as well, So you are awarded for role playing it with free re-rolls.
For multiclassing, one commonly overlooked factor is the class specific saving throw proficiency. Each class has it for two stats, giving them +2 on those saving throw rolls, and you only get it for your initial class. Now, for a druid, you probably want good constitution saving throws, because of concentration spells. Fighter and Barbarian have +2 to that. So if you are planning on combine druid with either of those, it can be worthwhile to respec when it is time to add that class, so it can be your base, for that extra +2 to the save.
So so so so so glad they let you pick your race stats. For the longest time every optimal build was a variant human. Best warlock? Variant human. Best paladin? Variant human? Best Elf? Variant human. Best BBEG? Variant human.
Your videos are EPIC :) I've been replaying act I over and over to try to see which class I like the best and just getting a feel for the game and you've helped me with some of the finer details. Thanks, LJ
Just want to say I subbed entirely because of your habit of "front loading information". Not from this video specifically (though I'm glad to watch it) just after I ended up watching several of yours from my recommended page.
Spore Druid is a lot of fun, but it can be finicky to use undead in a lot of situations since npcs panic and run around when you have your undead in town. There’s also a bug currently where the newborn zombies your fungal zombies create aggro neutral or friendly npcs when they run out of HP and despawn. Still a lot of fun, but they’re very situational in a subclass that already has a lot of limited use capabilities inherently. I find myself using the spell level 4 dryad summon a lot since people don’t freak out about her or the wood woad in town.
Notable, Resilient Con works in wild shape. You don’t get to keep your con score but you keep your con proficiency. Important to keep Concentration in Wild Shape.
This is a great video. I really appreciate the tips on what works with circle of the moon and what doesn’t work. It’s really wonky. I was really worried that concentration spells may feel bad if I’m tanking hits because I’m in melee attacking stuff in bear or wolf form but getting war caster as a feat will really help that.
Lunar Mend is a bit of a trap because you sacrifice spell slots (the good part of the druid) to prolong being in a wild shape (the weaker non-scaling part of the druid). Even a Circle of the Moon druid will find it better to use those spell slots (between shapeshifts) on actual druid spells instead of on Lunar Mend, especially the high level spells. Lunar Mend is also awfully random with the 1d8 roll meaning you can get up to 8 times the difference in healing. Unfortunately Druid wild shapes are still bugged so some feats and unique items that are supposed to work with them currently do not.
@@rarewaifu yep save it for stuff like concentration spells before you go into wild shape lots of druid spells are good for area control with it large aoe difficult terrain or great support spells and summons and for healing in wild shape the water myrmidon are better at that job with it free powerful aoe heal with it only limit being it can only be use in combat and don't forget you can still drink potion and eat goodberry in any wild shape wild shape fall off in dmg late game but it is still one of the most tanky thing in the game with 2 wild shapes + you hp you can easily tank over 200 hp for almost free per shot rest and we not even take in resistance and tough feat that also affect wild shape

I'm doing a playthrough of an Oathbreaker Paladin with a Necromancer, Spores Druid and Pact of the Chain Warlock to have as many buffed summons as possible. It's pretty fun as long as there are bodies around
The Spore Druid is definitely the sleeper among the other two choices. It is a lot cooler than I thought it would be. But I have a game question with regards to the Spore Druid and the Myconid colony? Is there any Symbiosis or special dialogues? Thanks
Its pretty bad honestly. I was looking forward to this a lot by the time i learned they exist. It even worse because its not only that there is no special dialogue options, but your character acts like the don't know anything lol. At one point the leader is infecting a dead body with spores to reanimate it(your spore zombie summon) and you circle of the spores druid asks, what are you doing? so lame.
I like moon druid with 2 fighter levels dueling from fighter boosts damage of myrmidon shape while giving action surge and tavern brawler increases accuracy for other shapes
Circle of the moon seems like the most underated druid class because it sucks until you get tavern brawler. But water myridons might be the strongest thing in the game and moon druids can have 2 on the board at once. Giant Aoe heal that wets every enemy in a combat, Double damage on wet targets, Powerful Aoe ability that doesnt require spell slots (roughly 50% more damage than a fireball before the target is wet.)
Actually savage attack might work, it just takes until level 10. Your elemental forms as a moon druid use weapons. Also did my first playthrough as a moon druid and it was awesome. Using a 6th level spell slot to summon a myrmidon and then wildshaping into a myrmidon was a lot of fun.
Also notable: none of your gear matters in Wildshape. Imo moon is pretty underbaked. You can’t reactivate concentration abilities in Wild Shape, you don’t get the benefit of itemization, and most feats don’t work.
There's gear that works in wildshape. in most cases it will state works in wildshape But there's gear that works in wildshape despite not saying it does like gloves of the underdog

As a primary, no. However if you ever have a spare bonus action and weild a good staff it is certainly worth casting it incase someone gets in your face. If you are spores you do 2d6+wis etc and shield plus med armour makes you fairly tanky. If there is no good spell to cast it is usually better to smack with a stick than use a cantrip in melee.
No extra attack is a big problem but with symbiotic entity you're looking at (1d8)+5+(1d6) for a base of 6-19 damage? Doesn't seem too bad. A great sword is (2d6)+5 for 7-17.

It's worth pointing out two things. First, your race does lock you into a particular skill proficiency. For example, the wood elf and half wood elf get stuck with stealth proficiency. A skill I don't use. Secondly, the multi class feature is locked because of the difficulty level I play on. So, as cool as the multi class options are, I do have to go pure.

If you leave the region after his quest with Thaniel then he will leave. You get a journal entry about it. If you try to go back to underdark or mountain pass or earlier.
In my experience, Halo of Spores is a very bad attack. It misses 75% of the time, and if it hits, the damage is either too low or half-resisted anyway. It isn't good even if it's a bonus action.
I just decided to leave Shadowheart KO'd and abandoned in the Shadowfell (I'll give her a second chance in an evil run campaign) and now Halsin is looking at the team healer job. Was already considering him as a spore druid, melee poisoner/healer with the +poison gear and scimitar in Act 2. Thanks for the idea! Small issue: Main character is also a four elements monk (dexterity based as I also killed Astarion and needed someone to do traps and lockpicking). Maybe Halsin inherits that too and I flip main PC to open hand build.

_Oh no; _*_Spore Druid/Monk?!_*
_Welp, _*_time for another reset!_*
You don’t need guidance if you take shadowheart she already has it
I take guidance so that we can double buff enhance ability onto guidance, since you cannot cast both at the same time as they’re both concentration.
All this until you decide to kill off Halsin I guess.
@@tejasshastha5457 the dude leaves the char with potentially the best companion story out of playthrough lol..
Bro ive killed this guy twice by acident🤣
My question is, when this and most builds come online, the game over, what more is there to do once you hit 12
Ive found in my 2 playthroughs so far that if you're going through most of the game, you actually spend like half or more of act 3 at level 12
