I have such good memories of my local arcade. it was also a miniature golf and go kart course and had pool tables. we were at MK2 and there were these bikers and their girlfriends at the table behind us. one of the bikers pinched his biker babe's butt without her seeing it was him and she turned around in shock that us teen boys would be so daring when her biker boyfriend busted out laughing. I played MK with the son of a senator. kid was a regular there. an older teen in high school close to graduating. like a lot of entertainment products back in 90s and our generation can vouch for this... it was universal.. the whole culture was into these things instead of everyone being driven away by these weirdos like the condiment twins who have made these products just a niche for a dwindling fanbase. Everyone used to love MK now it's just a small group of weirdos on Twitter and Tumblr. same with Star Wars and everything else. they've driven us normal people away who grew up with it and defined it and they have re-defined it wrongly and told us they are the experts and that we don't know this / these products we were playing while they were in diapers or in their daddy's you know what.
Experts. Right. I never thought about them as of the experts. I saw them as a fans nerds who knows about the games a lot, but at the end oft he day they are not experts. Because been an expert goes above and beyond of just knowing mechanics, moves and combos. Cause, to be the expert you have to know not just that information, but also a whole frigging code of the game and how it works. And not just one game, but whole series of games and that is a lot even for a single regular human. I mean, I can say that I'm the expert because I know a lot of stuff about this series of games, but when it comes to reality I get down back to earth very quickly because turns out that I forgot a lot of that info, because of my personal life and because I have more important things to do than just thinking about video games. Sure, video games is a part of my life as a entertainment but they are not main focus of it. So yeah, I never saw those guys as experts and never will.
if I want an expert I will look to someone who was at least a teen when original games came out so they went to arcades instead of some weirdo autistic duo who were 5 years old or less when UMK3 came out.

Mk has been gutted for a minute now... It's a Disney game now
IMO, nothing will be better than the Klassics. I hope we get a remastered version soon..

You could introduce special moves into combos all the way in MK3, but iirc Nightwolf was the only one who could use his axe during a regular combo.
