I’m working on milling all of our grains for bread products! It’s a game changer! I made some really yummy spelt flour chocolate chip cookies last week.
Truly the flavor is out of this world! It's almost nutty! I haven't played with spelt yet, but I did order einkorn grains from azure to play with. Hoping to try milling some of them soon. How do you like spelt?
You are awesome! Can I go live with you?😂 yummy food! That stew had my mouth watering! Oh my gosh I love that fridge! What brand is it? I never seem to have room for leftovers etc. I eat from my pantry too. I had a great carrot yield, I’m sure I’ll have them (frozen) until close to the next yield, my potatoes however was not a good year🤦🏻♀️ pumpkins galore! I even give them to my chickens and goats for winter treats, just cut them open and watch the joy😂❤
Haha! It has been so cold here lately, enjoying these hearty roasts! Isn't it wild how it seems vegetables have their bumper crop years and do so much better than others? What are your carrot growing secrets because I have never gotten big beautiful Bugs Bunny style carrots.
Thank you so much! Absolutely! 2 Cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 cup butter, 2/3 cup water. Mix and roll into balls. And then cook on cast iron. I do find the mixture to be quite oily at first so don't be afraid to flour the counter generously when you are rollig them flat. I have been substituing for partial freshly milled red wheat. Usually I do 1/4 of the recipe as milled flour. Freshly milled flour doesn't absorb moisture quite the same as preground flour. Feel free to experiment! Enjoy!
