For freezing the fish, one way that you can preserve them, is to pat them dry, lay out on wax paper on a tray and flash freeze them. The you can use a food saver machine to get them air tight. If you can get them flattened out as much as possible it will help with freezer space. My husband and I love fishing and we work to fill our freezer with fish.
A little tip for you. I know your chickees love the scraps, but many vegetable scraps can be rooted in water and then replanted. I've done this with onions, broccoli and celery with good success. Love your videos!
I also bring my iPad into the kitchen and watch RUclips or movies while I can. I would suggest a larger cutting board. It’s a life changer. I’m inspired by the freezer veggie marinara!
Thank you so much! I did grow up with a mom who did garden, and did can things. And I remember sitting on the back porch steps shucking corn and breaking beans. Although, once I hit my teenage years I had "better things to do" than be interested in food preservation. It wasn't until after we had our first baby that I became interested. And then we had another and now I feel this pull to continue learning and immersing myself in the lifestyle. I truly love it, I love our life, and the lifestyle, and we are fortunate to have land to do what we want on. I've been really enjoying sharing and plan to continue. Thank you for sticking around and watching!
@@diaryofahomemaker I wish more young women understood the importance of living this way. Being thankful for what you have and persevering it. Thank you for being you. ❤️
Omg no way! You know how rare it is to meet someone who shares the same name, spelling we have! We’ve been really enjoying the challenge! It’s a lot of work, but I know we’ll be thankful for it. Thank you!
Just curious but who are some of your favorite you tubers? You tube is all I watch. 😄 Also, have you ever used the veggie scraps and make vegetable broth? I’ve made chicken and bone broth. Never veggie or beef. I have those exact containers and use them for tomato sauces mainly but that’s a great idea. I wrote very small on the lid but I’ll have to get some tape and do that.
Some of my favorites include The Seasonal Homestead, Farmhouse On Boone, The Elliot Homestead, and Seed and Sparrow Homestead! I do watch others but these are the RUclipsrs I really enjoy and try to watch every new video. So much information and good, family friendly channels!
Haha! I had one but I cut up raw chicken on it and got sketched out about it. I need to replace it. I recently grabbed a couple Norpro plastic ones but yes, really need a bigger wooden one. Also, I love the phrase "girlie pop"! Going to start saying that, ha!
Thank you! It is not, it's totally different. I do have a dehydrator but don't find myself reaching for it since investing in a freeze dryer. We are actually thinking about adding a second freeze dryer because we love it so much!

This is a great tip! I've done green onions before and yes, it works great! Thank you for watching!

Multi-tasking! You'll love the veggie marinara!
You amaze me that you are so young and do all you do. Wow! Did your mom teach you how to be so conservative or it’s just the life you chose. 👏

Very coo! Thank you for watching/subscribing!
I liked the black beans and tomatoes. Would be a great start for black bean soup.

Girlie pop, get yourself a bigger cutting board!

Hello from the middle of nowhere Oregon!
Hello again!
Amazing work! Is freeze dried the same as dehydrated? Really enjoying your channel 😊
Nope!
Thank you! It is not, it's totally different. I do have a dehydrator but don't find myself reaching for it since investing in a freeze dryer. We are actually thinking about adding a second freeze dryer because we love it so much!
