      Yes Sam, I know it's personal taste/opinion but I agree this is definitely some of the best and sharpest comedy I've ever seen and I've been studying, analysing, and enjoying comedy for forty years. There is however (in my opinion) some stuff that operates at the same level. There may even be aspects of some of the below mentioned comedy that eclipses The Office (U.K.). Check out:
      Sacha Baron Cohen's work (e.g. Ali G, Bruno, Borat, Ricky Sherman, Dr. Nira Cain-N’Degeocello).
      Chris Lilley's work (e.g. We Can Be Heroes, Angry Boys, Summer Heights High, Lunatics).
      Nathan Fielder's work (Nathan For You).
      To a much lesser consistent level, but with flashes at absolute genius that (at its highest peak) reaches the above levels: Check out:
      Asim Chaudhry's work (e.g. Chabuddy G).
      Steve Coogan's work as Alan Partridge (e.g. notably Mid-Morning Matters).

    I love Gareth's little hand gesture as he says 'Swindon lot don't seem to respect you'. Also 2:25 might be the most perfectly timed and comedically effective "zoom out" in a comedy programme. I nearly shat myself when I first saw that I was laughing so hard.

      You used to call Malcolm Kojack. That was affectionate. Yes it definitely was. Is Mr Toad affectionate. No it's definitely not. Kojack was a famous character played by a rather famous actor Terry Savalas. Toad is the ugliest creature. Big difference between Kojack and Mr Toad.

      @@mrfish9876 Yes but that's all the result of him wanting to be liked, loved, and accepted deep down. He's so insecure from the obvious lack of affectionate and positive interpersonal relationships he has that he exudes egotistical characteristics. We see the real brent on two occasions towards the end of the series, when he begs for his job and then when he finally tells finchy to fuck off. Already he seems to mature and grow after just one positive interaction where someone actually seems to care for him and like him.
