Coming from northern europe, I am so happy about all the african content creators telling stories from the different countries of the continent. Here in Europe, we have been told the wrong story about modern Africa. It also fills my heart with joy to witness stories of african americans that are moving back to Ghana and finding a sense of home.
A country will not meet the expectations of anyone. A person has to create their own expectations depending on the environment. A person has to know where they are moving to.
finally diasporans are catching on to the fact that you dont have to build your own place to move to ghana....buying is a better option than wanting to build your own house in ghana....and there are sooo many beautiful gated and residential properties to choose from.....thank you Ama for this enlightening interview.
I've been thinking about relocating to Ghana myself from America. America is my born home, but Ghana is now calling for me. It's an exciting and frightening ambition of mine. Thank you for interviewing this couple, our Lady Jasmine. 😎🖤🙏😎
Jump on whenever you ready. I’m a Ghanaian living in the USA but haven’t visited in a long time. I suggest you go explore for a month then after you can take a final decision and if you single, you might find you sum Ghanaian kiddy lol
She is right about the similarity between Guyana 🇬🇾 and Ghana 🇬🇭. In 2019 when I flew to Guyana for the first time after 15 minutes driving from the Airport to my hotel. I said the same thing, that it feels like Ghana and I can move and live in Guyana without any problems
When they 1st talked about patience in Ghana, she was NOT kidding! I am Ghanaian born and raised in the USA and when I tell you, Ghana will humble you and teach you patients that you never thought you had !😂😂😂😂
I’m looking to move also. My husband is Nigerian and I’m American. My preference is Ghana but my husband choice is Nigeria. I’m currently in the states but familiar with the power outages but the “cold” water took some getting used to even after 4 visits to Nigeria
I am a Ghanaian living in New York, I like this couple because they are genuine. They have my respect, as a Ghanaian, I can relate to all what they are saying. My recommendation to anyone who plan to move to Ghana, should be preferable a retiree, a professional or an entrepreneur. Once again my sincere gratitude to this couple, they have so much intelligence. Very decent house. Good luck.
Their story resonates with me deeply. The George Floyd incident happened in my neck of the woods and I do remember the subway shooting that happened in NY vividly. Some mentally deficient lunatic decided to shoot up in one of the subway carts. Incidents like that can scar you for life leaving irreparable damages. Can't wait to move down permanently.
People always get amazed and frustrated by how the pace of living in Ghana is so slow. I am not sure whether this is a good or bad thing to others but to me, "Rushing" as we call it in Ghana is the cause of many diseases and crimes. The rush to get things done so quickly causes escalating of blood pressure, stress and anxiety. Frustration from rush can bring a lot of anger and crime. I've witnessed a lot of these in places like Lagos, Toronto and New York.
Yeah we had to get used to the pace of things. Once it was explained it made sense and we adjusted. We have to turn off our Western expectations and embrace the culture. ❤️❤️❤️I love Ghana.

I am planning now to relocate back to the Continent. Because Africa is next frontier. They earlier someone make the move, the early it better, to tap opportunities on the ground

This is an exceptional couple; they did their research and plan wisely. They knew exactly what type of accommodation they wanted, and they got it. I love the apartment. And they shipped things that have sentimental value to them; things that give them a feel of the past or connection with where they are coming from, and that gives them a kind of familiarity in their new home. This interview is very encouraging to people who are thinking of moving to Africa.
This was an inspiring video. We are considering Rwanda but Ghana is giving me second thoughts. I love their apartment. That painting reminded me of growing up in the south. My grandparents were farmers and I picked cotton briefly until grandpa got a machine that did it. We still chopped the weeds from the crops every summer until my senior year of high school. I got a summer job at the health department.

We’re moving to Rwanda in august and super excited. We’re relocating from England. We have registered our children into school. We were there last summer for 6wks. We can’t wait!!!

So I word out the feeling I’m actually getting staring at the paint… the old man became amused then replied “all his life I’m one of the few to say something like that about that painting” it started a whole new conversation because I love painting myself. Lastly, I love how he talked about that paint coming back to his root along side finding out his history bate back to the Motherland. A whole story on it own they can explore on their channel. Beautiful home! I look forward to visiting 😊🙏🏽💕
Surprisingly I’ve come across this video, as I’m here in Ghana right now! Did a few tours over the course of a week and have been having a blast. Shout out to the Marriott down the street from the airport.
So lovely x
I really enjoyed hearing this couple’s transition, they seemed to have had the same reasons and concerns that I have in considering my future transition to somewhere on the continent of Africa. I hope to meet them, they seem so genuine.
