We finally got a robot update and DLC, no bias to me being happy at all... What are you most looking forward to with this new DLC and patch?
Pre-purchase machine age using my link! play.stellaris.com/Ep3o
The Way i see it they should give us the inexistent pure genetic ascension origin with the next bigger update :D
Wierd to watch someone become the strongest empire in 50 years while i need 75 just to realize what the hell is going on
It gets easier as u get more familiar with the game
True. I just have some giggles most games, but when I actually try, I rofflestomp them. Hardest part of commodore and up is the early game where the AI has all the advantages. Mid to late game tho, and you can curb stomp basically the entire galaxy at once
@@amirali4428and then an update changes all the fundamentals lol
You will eventually get good. It takes time and patience
Git gud

Ep3o has met his greatest challenge yet: the word "benevolent"
He is not same after killing bubbles
Still landed on Benelovent instead haha.
Finally, "Children of Man" origin.
Or Asgard, of StarGate fame.
@@petersteenkampif only we could actually an Asgard play and go cloning tech rush instead of synthetic
What is Children of Man?
@@Hifuutorian children of men. really depressing but awesome movie
@@forsakenquery Oh, duh. That makes sense, thanks!
this dlc is my personal favorite simply because of robotic megacorp
Yeah! And now I'll be able to play as Barbaric Despoiler-bots from the very beginning! Robotic Raiders! Mechanical Marauders! Positronic Pirates! I LOVE IT!
Yeah, WHOLE new worlds of flavor opening up with this.
Hm... Interesting, how Synthetic Fertility empire might interact with Limbo or Plight of the Beta-Universe anomalies/situations.
I saw in Montu's video that normal non-virtual pops can live on a virtual empire's colonies, there's just no jobs for them. He just turned em into research and unity through utopian abundance living standards
@@ahwass4989 Yes, but will otherworldly pops have Pathogenic Genes too? Will their planet have their own Identity Repository? That making me curious. And Awoken from Barren Planes anomaly is basically had Synthetic Fertility origin before it became a thing. They just failed challenge. Maybe they might be added to Repository or downloaded in new bodies straight up?
@@VladOS_Ur I think you can set synthetic assimilation as a species right, can't you?
I got the event with the brain scans. The option that lets you download them for safe keeping just adds them to the repository.
@@Corvid_Collector Well, thanks for telling. Good that they added it.
Haven’t payed much attention or even played stellaris the past few months. But watching this video and seeing that robots actually have planet preferences now kinda makes sense.
On wet planets rust would be a much bigger issue than on dry, and different alloys might be needed to help counteract that. Just all kinds of variables that come into play on different planets, different environmental hazards, wildlife, climate, etc. I think that’s a good change.
Yeah, now that it's a thing it feels kinda weird that we had perfect habitability robots for so long
Empires in Stellaris have Faster Than Light travel but they don´t know stainless steel? good logic there...
@@tunencio7288 I suppose the Empires are able to create all-environment robots, but it wouldn't cost efficient, so they opt for specialized environment robots
Just think about all their moving parts… how are they lubricated? Each kind of lubricant is likely optimised for a certain type of atmosphere (21% oxygen, 23% oxygen, 19% oxygen…) and a particular humidity range, and will work poorly in other circumstances.
I played a game as Radio active rovers Rogue Servitors. Was pretty fun, as my bio trophies also had the survivor trait.
Want to try Ocean Paradise next.
Yesssss time to Embrace Metal and abandon this week squishy flesh.
robot mafia criminal megacorp run when
More like sex don't work like it used to, better build our grandchildren in a factory.
Of course, this means he needs to get even more achievements with the new DLC
18:40 - holy crapballs, someone at Paradox read Diaspora...
Greg Egan is WILD.
@@tomisabum Indeed; first read Diaspora when I was in the Army (was in the post library), and recently read thru it again... still such a creative work (especially given when it was written)
2:11 Why wouldn’t you go nonadaptive, instead of unruly? You can’t colonize other planets anyway.
EDIT: nvm, the origin trait bans nonadaptive.
Smart play on the devs that I can totally see them overlooking if this were even a year ago. I took Sedentary because your housing usage is only going down
honestly, I'm gonna wait for gigastructure to be updated to work woth this new dlc, cause the frame world plus virtual ascension might be a really good combo.
Let alone Birch World Origin. Infinite pops go BRRRR
@@pieterfaes6263 frame world can be grown infinitely. birch world has a limit iirc.
@@isuckatusernames4297 both are unlimited
@@isuckatusernames4297 IIRC, both can be grown infinitely. Birch World has a lot of space, and the ability to colonize other worlds to specialize, whereas Frame World has only the ONE "world" to work with, and is limited in how you can design it, but it also means you can work on defensive fleets to defend your ONE world from any harm.
Holly Molly this definitely origin for minmax players who know how to play.
I hope next video would be about traditions (Virtuality, Nanobots, Modularity)
If I return to my biological species to Cyborgs (half human/half machine) or robots (fully machines) can I access those traditions? Or are they exclusive for those who from minute 1 of the game?
I think Montu did that. I’d like to see a video about the Augmentation Bazaars…
That's Necrons
Spooky scary skellingtons are kind of similar. Although the situation was a bit different.
@@sinbotosimmons7624 Yeah. Worse tech and no immortal toads (and elfs) that dont want to share immortality juice.
Neat. Might try this with a Technocracy/Oppressive Autocracy empire; I usually go for Police State later. Maybe not an ideal build as it requires taking regular Materialist, but it's got a crunchy mood to it for flavor. Had fun trying out Overtuned with them.
Im gonna go Technocracy, and go hard on the new crisis type. Will have to see the final requirements to see what ethics I can use though, but this is gonna be fun.
The universe decided my empire shouldnt exist. It failed to ensure that, and thus, *we reshape reality as we see fit*
I just got to the digital dream in 2018. Ethics: Fanatic Materialist/Militarist Civics: Dark Consortium/Parliamentary System. Traits: Intelligent, Engineers, Charismatic. Only buildings I constructed were: Research labs and I replaced the commerce building with an energy grid after I researched it. I immediately went for -40% energy/+20% engi research. Traditions: Statecraft 2 picks and discovery completed. Economy was definitely struggling, I was unlucky with both hydro bays and no dark matter deposits nearby. Could finish faster with better luck and maybe skip 1 tradition.
I wonder what happens if:
A. You fail to complete the research project before your species dies out.
B. You fail to complete the research project but have individualist synthetics living on your planets, who could inherit your empire.
C. You fail to complete the research project, but have alien citizens living on your planets, who could inherit your empire.
Your species don't actualy die, their mind will get preserved and, trought the digital repository, they control curbsome robots for the day to do job of the empire
I assume as long as you got specialist you can still progress. It just your entire species is in the identity repository.
Did this earlier today. Was able to research synthetics in time, but not the tradition tree.
All the identities go into the repository.
You use robot proxies for leaders. They die pretty fast. Had to wait to adopt synthetics to hire new leaders.
@@iRcoyote1 What if you have aliens living in your empire with citizenship, allowing them to take Ruler jobs and generate leaders?
Nice video, this looks like a lot of fun!
I waited until after I played the origin myself to watch this video because I wanted to go in blind. Turns out Ep3o and my builds were almost identical, I took masterful crafters instead of parliamentary systems to help with the consumer goods. It let me run academic privilege basically the whole time. Also I would recommend going discovery first, upon completion it give you a research speed bonus but the left side of the tree also unlocks research subsidies for even more research!
on my first run with the origin found a star with a base of 15 energy the tier 3 Dyson Swarm puts out so much credit in the late early game was putting out 500 odd credits a month base
Would it beat the old dyson swarm tho
The choice with the identity repository is an interesting one; do you regain all your lost pops, or do you keep the structure and it's benefits? As well, if you keep the repository, how many planets do you build it on to dilute the robot output bonus? Certainly challenging, but a lot of interesting decisions.
lol neighboring a fanatic purifier rng hates you! 😂
This seems a really interesting start
Will watch after i get to play it. Im not a fan of spoilers but i love your channel and will watch later
I'm going to try the synthetic fertility origin with a fanatic materiaist, xenophile megacorp and the relentless industrialist and masterctaft civics
I'll be back to watch this in 2-3 days :)
I think it will be harder than Eager explorers with doomsday origin in commodore difficulty up to grand admiral.
And I don't think It will be good idead to increase technology and tradition cost in game sittings.
You can build colony ships as soon as you have robots up.
Loved this start, felt a bit busted though. I definitely would've gotten rolled if I was neighbours with a genocidal. But I was left alone for the most part and after 50 or so years I had one of the most ridiculous tech/unity leads I've ever had in this game.
Man just made some Necrons :D
So in thsi origine your prety much playing the Necrotyr becoming the Necrons, with space AID being replace by space infertinlity and no vampire star gods. Nice
Finally the time of robots has come!
Ooh this is really neat to see early :D also it’s said ben-ev-ol-ent
Family feud escalates into violent power struggle between a Pantheon of Supreme Beings and their offspring, a new world is created in the aftermath.
Have you tried Toxic god origin, genetic, with stacking livestock pops on the main habitat?
To enforce Managed Democracy on the Purifiers you first need to sign up to Positronic Synthetic Network.
I wouldn't have thought the parliamentary system would be very good as it's tied to your pops and that only goes down with time.
edit: 13 minutes in you saw it a bit too late.
Could you do the cybernetic creed next? That one I am looking forward to the most
I played it. You're kneecapped at the beginning because there are various factions that have Situations tied to them, and pleasing 1 faction will displease the others, which lowers both your Unity and Happiness, thus your Stability and resources
Looks like the humans got any new skin package.
The background music is driving me insane.
isnt there a event cchain where you find a digital repository on a planet and later you can bring them back with some technology?
There is, its called In Limbo I think, if you have this origin you can add them to the identity repository. Its very nice, got my capital up to +40% resource output! Oddly it never gave me the option to put them in synth bodies even though I had already synthetically ascended at that point.
Its a very interesting origin, all hail the machine
Can someone explain why would i WANT to save that race in this origin? It seems that the biggest benefit from the origin is the Identity Repository and the more pops you get in it, the bigger the bonus. Heck, when I play it, I don't tech rush but rush alloys so I can take over someone's empire, then I get their pops that do not die so i get pop growth in the empire. Just get the first tech so you start building robots and the second so you can start colonizing planets, then wait until all pops migrate into the repository.
Homeworld with the repository filled with all pops provides an insane boost (like over 50% to robotics and a few hundred research/unity) is awesome to turn into ecu later on.
Someone did not think it through when they designed that origin. There should be some sort of real benefit from taking that risk of tech rushing at the beginning of the game to save a race and lose a large chunk of a bonus from that building. Maybe they should make you get extra points for robot race customization based on how many people you save? Just a thought.
So they basically become the Necrons from 40k… fun times
Literally the nekrons from 40k 😂
Surely nothing horrific will happen by letting Ep3o save people 😅
Cyberpunk advisor sounds like Tom from toonami
That origin seems hard
So based on the novel disease thing, I am assuming that this is just when Eren Yeager decided to do the rumbling, but Zeke still got his they can’t reproduce wish
The God's will not be chained
Does this origin still glitch out with sol starting system?
The scenario is horrifying but the idea is interesting.
Can you imagine a movie with this idea that offers the origin but before the virus happens they have sent two Colony ships to two different planets? And then see that those on planet Earth They have to upgrade to machines
@@Aimerxd It would be pretty scary to learn that the capital of your species was infected with a genetic virus which forced the majority of your species to embrace mechanical bodies.
However I'd imagine those from the capital who are nostalgic after their biological bodies will go to great lengths in order to help the remaining un-infected colonists to stay alive and well. It would probably divide their civilization between those who want to support and embrace the revival of their biological nature and those who wish for their entire species to become mechanical.
For sure, it would be a drama to behold.
Aside from everything else, hearing "matrices" instead of matrix-es, 😎👍
Cybor Ascension vs synthetic ascension
Which one is better in the new The Maching Age DLC?
Next. Go head to head against the new endgame crisis and defeat it
Benelovent
I wonder, because when I was starting collecting more achievements in Stellaris, I stop playing the robots for very long time. So I want you to ask, how you feel with this changes of robots? There is a major change in playing as the robots, more challenging that before or less, creating more possible combination for robots empire and someting like that?
It increases the variety of machine empires, but it also makes you work more to have a good robot empire. They’re no longer (in my opinion) just objectively better anymore
finally i can become the geth OR JUST STRAIGHT UP MALWARE
Can you go through and turn back to biological pops?
its hella cool origin but at the same time i feel like it has unexplored opportunities like finding a cure/modifying genome enough to make them fertile again
oh and on top of that there's now a random system with a habitable world that can appear in one of your games that is a reference to this origin - just a planet with some rudimentary robots and a science ship research option to look into hard drives of those robots. After you conduct a research an event will pop which will say something between the lines of "they all died to some infection"
Idk what to comment so. Uh. Good vid
🤔that origin hard I'm sure is type sabotage other empire in espionage.😂
If I return to my organic species to robots, can I access nanotechnology, modularity and virtuality?
No, that's unique to robot Empires.
@@iRcoyote1 😢 nerf To the synthetics again :(
Virtuality video when?
It should have been a update for the synthetic dawn dlc not a new dlc
30 YEARS TO EXTINCTION?!?!?
Asgard LARP... Finally...
Can you be spiritual or not materialist, and have this background
Why doesn't cybernetics appear in the traditions part?
Its the Synthetic Fertility origin, it block all other ascension paths. As such they will not appear as options in the tradition selection menu.
I wondet if u can get machine uprising playing with this. That would be ironic...
I know having faction soon is good but i maybe there is better because faction unity increase with pop and we are loosing pop
Whats up with the human portraits?
That's the new human portrait from the DLC that will transition into cybernetic human portraits if you cybernetically ascend.
@commandoepsilon4664 oh cool...little out of touch with stellaris busy af but cool
Watch AMC Pantheon
Wait... PDX added Koreans on Stellaris?
So do you think we are getting a Psionic Age after this?
Im good ill pre-pirate it instead
I wonder how AI with this origin will fare...
insert 'its free realestate' meme here
I'm genuinely triggered by the fact you didn't take slow breeder as a trait, it was an easy 2 genetic points.
Probably blocked off by the infertility diseased trait.
It won't let you. The negative trait forced on you by the origin blocks all other traits that affect pop growth speed as well as non-adaptive and sedentary/nomadic.
@@commandoepsilon4664 yeah, make sense.
I gotta put this one in.
The eldar race is dying, press f to make them die faster.
Your trouble with the word 'benevolent' shows that you should either get more sleep, drink more coffee, or both before recording.
I'm loving your content, but the weird glitchy Nintendo music is driving me absolutely nuts. There is so much awesome royalty free music that would fit the content in your channel so much better, and would be much more worthy of your quality of content.
The IVF future.
Am i the only one hearing weird audio from the voice ? Almost like each word is cut up and strung together
Could you imagine though? The only way to “save” your species is to become something unlike you in every way? Like…this origin is just severely depressing.
Its a reason why I liked to play Overtuned using society civics that played like a civilization in decline or in a state of panicked, reactionary loss of rights or the 'heart' of what their civilization was. The monsters you become just to survive...new crisis path opens that up more too.
Simp
I have yet to see a single thing in this DLC that hasn't been in a previous DLC or an already existing mod.
That is some Bethesda-level of cashgrab.
