It’s a really interesting pattern that actually has a few generations and variations (the red OPFOR version being one of the coolest). It would make a good video, I can see a few videos covering all the Aussie camos like the Psychedelic Smock, Platacam, AMP and AMC. Keep an eye out for a video in the future.

You should definitely do the Halo Marines & Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit from Half Life, & definitely the gurlukovich mercs & the genome soldiers from MGS.
I do agree that the cap design resembles the M43 cap, but in my opinion it resembles DAK's (Afrika Korps) M41 cap due to the presence of the grommets and fake ear flaps. P.S: just found your channel accidentally this morning and I love it! Subbed! :) :)

Ah yes the Evike ST90 Defender, it's actually something I tried to get when putting the uniform together last year but was sold out everywhere and every time I looked. For $75 it's a good price but I think it may be discontinued or something odd like that. I never saw the helmet or Morita on their site, if you have links send them on over and I'll add it to the description.
The dress uniform of the MI as described by Heinlein was blue pants and maroon tunic. Unfortunately, that was all the detail he supplied, so the rest was left to the reader's imagination.
A friend of mine worked for the production team that made the armor and guns for the movie, he has Michael ironside's helmet and armor that was worn in the movie and Denise Richards black jumpsuit that was worn when she was captured by the brain bug. Really cool!

Not gonna lie, This whole time I always just kind of figured and accepted starship troopers was some kind of alt history where Germany won WW2 just because of how closely the analogy lies and mocking it.
The stupid director only read two chapters of the book and used the names of characters only.When he is asked why the book and movie dont even have any similarities, he answered he was bored didnt want to read a book. Such a shame this could be a great movie.
When I saw this film I was blown away, this and Space: Above and Beyond seemed more realistic to me than Full Metal Jacket. Before I get lectures I am a decorated Vet and have seen combat first hand.

Unfortunately the world in this film is incorrectly seen as fascist. Even by Verhoven. When actually looking at it there isn’t any facism in the political system of the movie. No facist system would ever use the line “service guarantees citizenship”. Under facism it would be “citizenship guarantees service”. You can see this evident by the fact Johnnys father is independently wealthy and successful despite not being part of (and openly disliking) the citizenship system. This would not be possible under a facist regime. What’s actually portrayed is more some kind of Libertarian power fantasy. This in continually overlooked due to the films militaristic nature and incorrectly labelled as Facist.

Service guarantees citizenship, but you're often not expected to survive, and regular members of society have less rights with more strict laws to follow...it is the definition of oppressive. It's an unfair system in place that keeps the civilian voting populace low. We also don't know if Johnny's father is inherently wealthy, that could be standard housing in the film universe. It's never implied he's wealthy.

Even black nylon belts and pouches....just add patches and you are ready for the bug hunt! Great fun this video, thanks! Space above and beyond is a good one, do that!
I've seen a county fair in Puyallup wa display with some of the mobile infantry outfits. We all knew the phrases used..you wanna live forever!!?? And RICOS ROUGH NECKS!!! fleet does the flyin while infantry does the dying... Great movie
I thought it was very interesting seeing the use of military gear that had been modified or copied. Something such as the vibram sole jungle boots were used in several shots and a few other items.
Well if you read the book you'd know the federal service is like almost non military related and has almost nothing to do with the movies. I enjoyed the movies more
Of course the Paul Verhoeven movie and the original Heinlein novel are two completely different things. Many people think the movie glorifies fascism or the end of democracy. They could not be more wrong. In fact the movie is a WARNING against fascism and the end of democracy.
Lots of work to do on a lousy budget, but this should be fun. Already got my jacket and going to start work on the body armor next. Need pants, helmet and a rifle and I should be good for a basic cosplay.
If u cant spurce put eagle industries u can also ways go with condor emerson or tmc and i use thos m4 pouches and the frag for a radio from condor so thay hold up nicely :) mine are all OD green and thay co e in colprs and camo patterns there fairly cheap u can get single 2x or 3x and single 2x to 3-6magazine pouches
I’m proud to say I’m the owner of 2 sets of the body armor class A. Meaning they weren’t the hero armor but used for close ups, not the class B far back shots.
If your looking to get some armor that isnt foam or from Evike I recommend trying to get in touch with the German division, passionate bunch, they're why I have a good helmet and armor set I wear, its pricey but if your hardcore about it, its well well worth it.

Even the screen writer couldn’t find any other way to make it fascist outside of doing the “propaganda features” and the eagle icons used in the film. The channel “Sargon of Akkad” does a full break down that explains better than I can.
Exactly. I haven't read the book, but the society portrayed in the movie seems pretty liberal. There seems to be no racism or sexism at all. The government does seem somewhat authoritarian, but it is definitely not fascist. Too many people think all authoritarianism is automatically fascism.

For me the starship troopers really resemble the IG cadian shock troops from 40k.

Fun fact the armor the infantry uses was also used for alliance soldiers in the Firefly series a lot of these props were reused for that show.

Way the fuck back, when I was like 19, I had the opportunity to buy the molds used to make the "armor" in this film. Still kicking myself I didn't.
