You can make a draw string or add a piece of elastic for when they begin to stretch out of shape. I'm an advanced crocheter who even make clothes but this is the best explanation of how to make the slippers.

These are great , so easy and work up fast. I've made one pair and would like to make several more , since I'm unsure of who will get these , do you have a suggestion on what size I should make them , is the average foot 6-7? 7-8? And have you made these ribbed ? I was thinking on trying a pair crocheting in the back loops only ? Thanks again

Hi..these are so cute..how would I make them in a child size?
I know this is over a year old, but to make them in a child size measure the width of the childs toes, work the first couple of circles all in single crochet to meet the measurement and then keep the count until you reach the section she starts working on the heel; adjust measurements to match; also just using a thinner yarn or smaller hook can also help. Red Heart is a size 4 yarn; you can go with a 3 or look for "sock yarn" to see if you can get a smaller size following her exact directions.
Hot Glues works great too.. just zig zag it over the souls...

Why does one side of my slippers looks like I single chrochet but the other side looks like a double chrochet..like the outside looks like single and the inside looks like a double...help😖

Try a thinner yarn, smaller hook, shorten the toe count, use all single crochet - any of these will help adjust the size of the slipper.
