That cop that checked on her was very sweet and caring. I've never had a guard treat me like a human like he did. ❤️
RIGHT! I wasn’t even problematic like this, and there was no manners- never mind compassion.
@@fresh.prince7472 you're a creep
Just because 📷

Same. I'm the most compliant, respectful person and most treat you like a dog
I've told my kids never to make fun of how people look, or what job they have. You cant help how you look and at least they have a job.
Most of the ones making fun are living off the government.
@@jamesplymire5342 me I have speech disorder people can't understand sometimes when I talk
Unless your job is to harass other people.
In that case, your job is lower than having no job
You can help how you look. Whether someone is “good looking” or “ugly” is subjective but one can go a long way with basic grooming, physical fitness, clothing, cleanliness….
I tell them to avoid ugly people like the plague because it's contagious.
You might think I am joking but I am not.
Ugly people are often unhappy and will drag you down with them.
Same thing goes for people overly focused on their looks.
They are 2 sides of the same insecure coin and frankly staying away from them is the best way to live a life with a problem or 2 fewer.
The pain in her voice when she admitted, “I’m an alcoholic.” Even while completely intoxicated, you could tell it hurt her to identify herself that way. Sincerely hope any person coping with an addiction is met with the same compassion and calmness, that the staff displayed. Substance users are more than their addictions, they are human beings coping with a debilitating illness. Passing judgement only perpetuates the stigma and prevents people from seeking help.
Oh boo hoo she constantly makes bad choices and we are meant to feel sorry for her? No thanks.
it not an illness she did it to herself. stop believing the sob story of drunks and addicts. these bums are running wild in the streets because they put alcohol and drugs above everything else in their life. when they want help, they will get help, and if not, they die. im telling you this with 11 years sober. its time for everyone to start being honest about the world around them and call it as it is. addicts are far from honest people.
@@POTC Exactly mate addiction is a choice nothing more.
@@POTC Hello stranger! I’m actually a social worker and know many lovely individuals who cope with addiction and substance use! Most of these people are sadly also experiencing homelessness and your judgement does not benefit you, or them. Their addiction doesn’t take away from their personhood, but your ignorance does. Alcoholism isn’t a choice unfortunately. It is actually classified as a mental illness in the DSM-5 as, “Alcohol Use Disorder”. We *ALL* face different adversities in life and the world is a much kinder place to be when those adversities are met with compassion.
**edit: I am so glad to hear you are sober and wish you the best! I am so sorry if the world had treated unkindly in the midst of your addiction. You didn’t deserve that.
@@dearestdrew you are the problem.

I lost my father (59) and brother (44) to alcoholism. It’s heartbreaking. I rarely drink (1-5/yr), it’s not worth it. My sister has never tasted alcohol - she’s older and remembers the violence. I’m so sad for those dealing with alcoholism. 😢
Yes it's tragic not just for the alcoholic but everyone they affect.
yes my dad had a massive stroke and has alcohol induced dementia it destroys lives, families
@@annegreenwood3624 My brother is only 61 but is sliding into alcohol induced dementia. It's really upsetting in a way because he was once super smart, sharp as a whip, but a lifetime of alcohol has robbed him of that and of his family. His own kids don't even speak with him, now. Saying "and that's sad" understates the issue, too, so I can't really say it without sounding trite.
crazy how much difference there was in personality once she'd sobered up. she just needs help
I've been there plenty of times. Drunk, in booking, and all psychotic. I feel really bad for her and hope she can get help. I have 1,222 (days) off alcohol clean and sober. It sucks being sober all the time now but not as much as being drunk. Stay strong Marsha. It can get better 💜
That's awesome good for you!! 💜💜 I'm sure it's not easy, you've overcome a lot. I'm just a stranger in the RUclips comments but I'm proud of you!! Stay strong, your life matters 🥰🙏.
@@gmimi2 🤗 Thank you so much 💗
By 1,222 off alcohol, I assume you're saying that's how many days you've been clean. If so, that's over 3 years, one day a time and that's awesome. Congratulations on a tough but great accomplishment!
@@ericad8616 lol oops. Yes I had 1,222 days when I wrote this. Thank you so much💗👍😄
Good going. You have done something that has to be so hard. Be proud and just take a day at a time. You're doing great.
That was once someone's little baby girl. How far we can fall. Heartbreaking.
Yes. People don't choose addictions as a career. I'd bet Marcia's story would break your heart for what she's endured in life.
i think about that everyday. every teacher i have loved was once a little kid in a class learning. i feel like i always thought of adulthood like a whole different species, but we're all just big kids yk
a kid from my high school was shot dead and he was an addict according to the news. It is shocking when I see former classmates ones who are successful and others who led themselves a downwards path. Yet we all start as innocent kids.
@@SuperBluejewels Yeah. Sometimes it feels like the worst idea ever hatched is the one where "grown-ups" are the ones raising kids with no qualifications whatsoever and 15 or 20 years later the cycle repeats.
I hope Marsha can get help for her Alcoholism. Like the cop said, she is usually very nice, she's just drunk. Very sad!
Hopefully she does. I quit drinking Jan 2019. Quitting wasn’t the hard part..Staying sober and living life alcohol free is..

It never fails to break my heart, witnessing the destructive power of substance dependency. Personally knowing people who have fallen down that slippery slope, I desperately look forward to a medical intervention with much higher chances of helping them.
I don't know this woman's story. Only saw a fleeting hint of her sober personality at the end of this clip. But it really seemed to represent someone who would naturally be such a positively contributing member of society without the interference of alcohol.
I agree. She seems like a nice person, I hope she finds the strength and resilience to overcome this.
Truly heartbreaking!
why cant they give her some help ?
@@kellygreen3888 Help cost money. Lots of it. Alcohol rehab a 3 week treatment program can be $16,000.
What a 180 after a little sleep and sobering up.

Prayers up for that woman. 🙏🏻
Aww ☺️ they treated her with the utmost kindness and respect
I’m 70, after the service in 1973 I became a sheriffs officer and started that job in the jail. It’s such a shame I had to deal with a lot of the same drunks for 40 years on the job. First in the jail, then on the road and finished up in the courts. I watched peoples lives fall apart. When I go down to have lunch and visit I still see some of the same people.
Thank you for your service.
When I was 14 and was taken to hospital for alcohol poisoning, my Dad (an alcoholic) grounded me, gave me a pen and paper, and made me copy an essay, out of a book of essays, that was called "The Man Who Was Stuck In A Rut." The message stuck. I'm 42 and have never had a problem with drinking.
I know this all too well. My father was a violent drunk, but only when he is drunk. He is a wonderful man and everyone loves him who have not had to witness his drunken rages. Alcohol is the devil.
The devil uses alcohol to separate those from God but....
"He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him."
Psalm 91:15
Why you think liquor stores say “ spirits “ brings out the evil spirit
This is why I doubt the authenticity , she’s got a problem with a random guy looking at her , but no issues or even glances at a cameraman right in her face….
People are gonna stare when you’re using your shackles as a bra and acting crazy
I do wonder if she would gotten that level of patience if the camera crew hadn't been standing there.
Everyone acts different when the camera is on them.
Definitely not
Yep!
At least this lady admits she has a problem most people think they are fine
The lady officer who was talking to her when she said she’s an alcoholic really seemed to know how to deescalate. The fingerprinting guy was talking to her like she was sober and just got her fired up again. The guy who checked on her was really human. There are people who care and want to help in these systems.
But he had to tell her why she's being charged.
@@guymontag9577He was aware that she was drunk and she made it known she was upset with her husband. If he had to go through the specifics of the incident, he should have waited until she sobered up. Alternatively he could have discussed battery or whatever the charge was without overemphasizing her husband. He did not approach that conversation tactfully and it was obvious she was going to fly off the handle the way he was speaking to her. Speaking tactfully in high stress situations is a skill, and the first officer (Fields) balanced that quite well in dealing with someone who was inebriated and upset.
She was really sweet when she sobered up. That makes me so sad, for her that she is an alcoholic. and so mad at alcohol, it can turn even the nicest ppl into someone totally unrecognizable when tbey drink. I wish there was no alcohol and d*u*s, or at least not a bad kind 🤔
The fingerprinting guy was obviously trying to help too. He did not "overemphasize" her husband. I'm sure he did a lot better than most people would have done 🤡
I think the woman officer was very understanding, kind.& I agree no one should judge anyone,if we haven't walked in their shoes,or had or have to live with one that has addictions,or a mental illness...no..one..period.
When she said she was an alcoholic, the officer replied, “I know honey, I know..” with such sincerity it got me 😢 lol
So sad, she seems really agreeable when she sobers up a bit
