  • Fast local 8 Second Muscle Car: All Motor 1970 Dodge Dart drag racing video filmed in 2011-2012 racing season at Edgewater Drag Strip. This ultimate American Muscle car is an absolute animal and a great example of naturally aspirated engines making big power with cubic inches. Although I don't know the car personally, I know someone who watches my videos will know something more about this car and I will update the description... I would love to know the size of the v8 in this car! If you like fast cars and drag racing videos make sure you check out my channel for tons of action:

Look up muscle car in the dictionary and youll see a picture of mopar, oh and dont get me started with the creation of Gen II HEMI . Although my dads 392 Imperial was a real torque machine used to break rotors/caps when the engine would lift, course the mount was probably broken then.

The Swingers and GTSs had power bulges, with engine displacement inserts. Most of the 69-72 models had an insert saying "340 FOUR BARREL" on them. I had a 69 GTS that was 340 powered, that I put into the 10s. It had a fiberglass lift-off hood with a windshield length Harwood snorkel scoop. As you can tell in the video, he's running those ETs with Mopar leaf springs. I ran a set of their S/S springs with an adjustable pinion snubber. Mopar just know how to build a suspension that worked.

Just my opinion but I think the car would be faster with a three speed so on each shift it would drop it in its strongest torque band, with the proper convertor

If it makes power where it spins too much with a 3 spd auto the next step up is to go 2 spd PG.

Brian Spring Hi I'm Larry Horn and that what I have Is a 1970 dodge dart swinger it has a 325 six slant six in right but am going to put a 318 small block in it now.

Larry Horn find yourself a good 360 police engine. Same weight and outside dimensions as the 318 with a lot more satisfaction.

They have a very reliable, strong internal 450 HP build for the 318. Have had it for awhile.
You can have a nice street car and.318's are still easy to find.
Ill tell ya.... Growing up the 318 was a good engine but to even consider building it was a waste to 99% of us. Not no more.
