My son has a 72 Swinger and a 440 with a 727 that he's going to drop in it. He's already got the Ford 8.8" rear end in it. Needs some tubs so he can put some serious rubber underneath it.
if you win any event or place top ten in points a lot of those goofy names on those stickers will cut you a check. when i ran fuel altered id collect about 10,000 in checks at the end of each season from goofy stickers and companies that participated in the contingency programs.
westbender 820 thers only two scoops that look good on a dart and the are a six pac and a cowl they go with the body style for sure it looks great they would be my only two choices wen I had my big block dart it’s a hood scoop it isn’t nessasary a Cheney hood scoop it’s not your chevelle or camaro cowl it’s a 6 in cowl built for racing and any car it looks good on thers a shit load of darts that run scowl and it’s because they look good and they give good clearance whitch I don’t now a mopar hood that’s as high as that unless you put one of them big ugly round things that look like a bad shaped mail box
I’d take this dart over any demon challenger if it was a 71 demon built up like this dart I’d love it to why they take the name of a really nice car and put it on a new car come up with some new names instead of a good old muscle car the dodge demon

I went down to the DMV on my birthday in 1966 and got me drivers license and can say without hesitation there wouldnt have been a muscle car era if Chrylser never existed. Look up muscle car in the dictionary and youll see a picture of mopar, oh and dont get me started with the creation of Gen II HEMI . Although my dads 392 Imperial was a real torque machine used to break rotors/caps when the engine would lift, course the mount was probably broken then.
Love the 70-73 darts. Had one and got rid of it. Big mistake as soon after I needed to feel the speed again. Got one back and now I'm fine. My advice, if you have one don't get rid of it.
@@Lipmonster you can just get a glimpse of the intake at the very beginning. Also I might add... the B1 platform is about as good as it gets for the big block mopar. :)

I disagree with that statement sir a turbocharged system is much more complex and harder to tune, and takes much more planning, strategy, and problem solving than any all motor combination I have ran.

take the body line off the top like the ford guys do and it's an enlarged 1970 roadrunner scoop , i'm sure you have seen the 70 rr/gtx hood scoop . they were not functional in the rear but it does resemble a cowl induction hood scoop minus the body line on top

The Swingers and GTSs had power bulges, with engine displacement inserts. Most of the 69-72 models had an insert saying "340 FOUR BARREL" on them. I had a 69 GTS that was 340 powered, that I put into the 10s. It had a fiberglass lift-off hood with a windshield length Harwood snorkel scoop. As you can tell in the video, he's running those ETs with Mopar leaf springs. I ran a set of their S/S springs with an adjustable pinion snubber. Mopar just know how to build a suspension that worked.
Just my opinion but I think the car would be faster with a three speed so on each shift it would drop it in its strongest torque band,with the proper convertor

@@Riverdeepnwide They have a very reliable, strong internal 450 HP build for the 318. Have had it for awhile. You can have a nice street car and.318's are still easy to find. Ill tell ya.... Growing up the 318 was a good engine but to even consider building it was a waste to 99% of us. Not no more.

Ya Mopar or no car I had a dodge dart with a build 340 ya pistons ,crank, cam ,heads ,intake, carb had a 38000 stall speed and a 538 rear end it was a bear off the line top end not to good ya the rear gear too big it was a blast will is it cubic inches or cubic bucks ya maybe both ya I am a old school guy no turbos, blowers, supercharger ya things do change one last thing tire smoking gear jamming on race gas and mabe a little juice

Love the 70-73 darts. Had one and got rid of it. Big mistake as soon after I needed to feel the speed again. Got one back and now I'm fine. My advice, if you have one don't get rid of it.

same here! anyone can slap on a turbo, or nitrous. it takes a real engine builder to make power without add ons

In '70 they did, I had one and from the inside it read 383 on a chrome badge.
