I am a brain cancer survivor and now I have develop uncontrollably epilepsy seizures. Every time I hear you sing you bring peace to my soul. Thank you for that. This is my mom and dad's wedding song. I am probably gonna goof this up hopefully not but, they have been together since high school and still are together to this day.

My dad has been working in the same company for 26 years and my mom now owns her own preschool. My younger brother is in Hawaii studying to become a Marine biologist. As for me, I am married with my lovely wife here in Owensboro Kentucky and soon going into seminary.
I hope for one day that you could sing this at my mom and dad's next wedding anniversary. My mom loves the way you sing and it would be such an honor. Yet, one could only pray that happens.

Erik has become my absolute favorite vocalist. He had me shocked when I saw Skid Row in Dayton, Ohio in 2022. Went back and saw them again in 2023. What impresses me most is his professionalism, he puts the music first. He showed no signs of intoxication, he nailed all the big notes. I'm old, I remember when that band was brand new, and he allowed me to relive my youth with one of my favorite bands. Thank you Erik. Keep it up my friend.
I saw Skid row in Vegas in 2022 when they were opening for Scorpions..he honestly sounded just like Sebastian did 30 years ago

Holy effing shit. I heard Perry do this live in Anchorage, Alaska at Journey's last official performance as a band. It was a performance and a memory I'll carry with me for the rest of my life....this version is the only thing I've ever heard that comes close. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL job.

I saw Buckcherry and Skid Row in Summer 2023 in NC. I never saw Skid Row before but i tell you this: Eric Gronwall put on the single best vocal performance I’ve ever seen live. He can do harder, cutting edge, and soft melody singing-does it all. I looked around in the crowd and there were guys in the audience with their mouths open and also looking around. NO lie

It's always a bold move by any singer to take on one of the most powerful rock ballads ever written and sing it true to the original. So many hard core Journey fans will come for blood. But this was really great. Those big notes and soaring crescendos were spot on. I love your vibrato early in the song. Nice touch.
This Steve Perry fan loved this rendition of this song. It'll make Steve proud. You have little faith in Steve's Fans. We know for a fact he'd be proud. Don't underestimate his fans my friend

I'm enjoying it. I myself hate the current singer. He doesn't have the power needed for many of the original songs. I've never heard of Erik before he popped up in my suggestions this morning, but I could get onboard with him as the new frontman.
I'm a hardcore Journey fan and I enjoyed his cover. Obvi his voice is much different, but he did it justice. I really liked the way he stayed true to the orig melody and phrasing. I do NOT like when others deviate from an iconic song like this. I'm ok w/some songs being changed up a little, but not this one.
@@candibellotti4144 I've seen Arnie live w/Journey a few times and I've thought it was ok. Tbh very few vocalists then or now have the power that Steve Perry had. The man was in a league all his own. But Arnie is better than the guy from Extreme that fronted Journey for a bit in the 90s. Saw them too and I prefer Arnie, if I can't have Steve, which sadly will never happen...

Most people don't know this song was originally written by a band member that had reconnected to God. It was changed to the version we all know because it was thought it was not going to be popular.

I remember when this song came out. I was a teenager in high school, and I would roller skate every Friday, and Saturday night. Journey should definitely get a hold of this guy for their lead vocals!! ❤
I basically grew up in a skating rink in the mid 70's. Kept me out of trouble.
Arnel is vastly superior but this guy is def VERY good!

It isn't just being able to hit the notes and showing vocal power. Perry has all that, but his phrasing and the sheer emotional power of his vocal is what makes so much of his version special and memorable, IMO.

I grew up listening to Journey and Skid Row. Sebastián and Steve are probably my two most favorite singers. They are also arguably two of the most difficult voices to cover from that generation.

Outstanding! I'm a long time Journey and Perry fan. I played this song 100's of times and have heard Perry perform live six times. I've never heard a better rendition that had the vocal range, tone, or emotion until this one. I hope @steveperry has an opportunity to hear this, I'm thinking he would be a big fan!

Another cover of a Journey song that came out this year and sounds amazing! Daughtry covered Separate Ways (World's Apart) with Lizzy Hale and they did an amazing job on it!!! Separate Ways (World's Apart) is my most favorite song.
