"Nothing is bigger and better than seeing a veteran get an ovation.
Or seeing a brilliant beginner freak out with a win on their first nomination."
-Neil Patrick Harris, 2013 Tony Awards opening number
Larry F I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THAT
OH WOW IM CRYING NOW
It’s so crazy that she was on the search for Elle woods! So many of those contestants went on to do amazing things!!!
I hate how the Tony acceptance speeches on RUclips don't show the reading of the nominees and the announcements anymore. They immediately cut to just the speech itself. Part of the fun is the anticipation and the announcement.
My favorite part is watching their reaction when their name is read.
agreed
Yeah, quite shameful they don’t show the entirety.
And what better way to say it than in front of a huge audience and on national television... haha
Literally the cutest speech
Good job Lena! And nice job with the My Little Pony reference at the end! It payed off because the show ended up contacting her to voice a character in the show!
Dude it's you!! I've haven't seen you for ages!
well she really was so nervous .... anyway...
FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC !!
she.. was.. acting:)
GREAT JOB LENA HALL. you made a MLP:FIM reference at this Tony Awards.
It was great seeing her and her new niece's reactions to her cameo episode of My Little Pony earlier this week. _Follow your dreams._
Dat MLP reference at the end.
Eeyup.
she's in Mlp :)
+sweetie belle she is as of today at least
She needs to be in more episodes especially with songs!
Best final sentence of any acceptance speech ever.
Friendship is most definitely magic
Oh my gosh. I started watching "The Search for Elle Woods" a couple weeks before the Tonys, and I didn't even recognize her until I rewatched her elimination episode AFTER the Tony Awards! Gah! She's come so far! I'm so thrilled for her! :)
I want to hug her and say "Take a breath". But what emotion, amazing!
She was.. acting!!!
Ummm... no. But thank you for the dose of cynicism.
Friendship Is Magic indeed
Here from MLP Season 5, I didn't know she said "Friendship Is Magic" in a totally unrelated speech to the episode of MLP she was in but that was so heartfelt and wholesome. She killed it as Countess Coloratura (Rara) so I thought she gave this speech in response to winning an award for "The Magic Inside" or something lol since it was one of the best voices ever on the show.
I love emotional award acceptance speeches.
she is acting !
+François Duverger I think it was very sweet to see how important this is for you, since you repeated it only 4 times.
She is so sweet! And very talented. :)
One step closer to world domination with the power of friendship! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!
MLP has even managed to creep into the world of Broadway.
And soon, we shall take over the world.
[Cue evil laughter]
We must remain united. Do you want the wendigos to return?
If I recall correctly, this speech is the reason she got on the show.
This speech is very true, and friendship can go a long way. I love how big Neil Patrick Harris was smiling from her speech. And, is he also wearing black nail polish?
She's the sweetest being aww
They should have also given her a special award for singing “The Magic Inside”.
10/10 pegasister! XD
***** Thanks. Man. :D I love Twi, she'd be awesome as a girlfriend. XD
so much emotion, makes me feel so happy for her :) she has an amazing voice, i hope to see her go even further with it
Fríenship is magic
You are a great person Lena, you made me cry in your performance in the final song of MLP Season:5 Episode:24
This is the sweetest thing I've ever seen
I don't think it is a reference. I think she legitimately believes that Friendship is Magic. Considering her speech, I don't blame her in believing it.
Nik Hulstein
Source?
She LOVES MLP.
Nik Hulstein Saw it on EQ. Who knew?
near the ending of her speech is similar to twilight's coronation speech.
Rubberman202 Press conference after she wins the award, she tells them that it is a MLP reference.
Friendship is magic!
i first saw this show and video a couple of months ago ( in SF ) and I use "friendship is magic" in my day to day life now
When this happened I cried so hard.
Thus she acted well
François Duverger thus your a douche.
This was so wholesome
Taking over the world, one award at a time.
Well said Miss Hall.
She's so adorable, and so sappy.
I LOVE HER SO FRICKING MUCH IM SO PROUD I LUV HER
Friendship is Magic!
i'm surprised she didn't thank her other 19 stage names.
After that I just got the idea that she might make a celebrity appearance in season 5 of MLP

+Chase Dynamite She did!
Season 5 Episode 24 - "The Mane Attraction"!
She is so funny!
She's so adorable.
I am officially in love. :*
good for you!!
Omigod you guys!
Never forget :,)
she is actually the best person ever
Hope the MLP crew decide to bring her back as Countess Coloratura (aka Ra-Ra) in a future episode!
Dah line at 1:20 is what I'm here for.
Do you think there's an animation of Coloratura saying this speech? There should be if there isn't.
It's funny seeing her so babbly and sweetly awkward back here when now she always seems so chilled
Nice to see San Francisco represented properly this year. I think I've discovered my new theatrical obsession. haha
Even a person who has never heard of MLP can understand Friendship Is Magic!
Omg she looks like Bebe Neuwerth!!
Throws cookies at screen, because somepony needed to give this woman a cookie... You get all the cookies.
the mane attraction is my favorite episode in my opinion
Agreed. Hope the studio decides to bring Lena Hall back to reprise her role.
OMG She is so cute!
Brohoof Lena, and great performance in The Mane Attraction.
The following link has her after the awards talking about how My Little Pony Friendship is Magic inspires her!

Awww, so sweet! I remember watching her in the Legally Blonde reality show, she has really come far!
What’s funny is that she was eliminated from the Elle woods reality show and a girl who was eliminated at the same time said “my shot on broadway has been ripped from my hands”... clearly not
lol this is so funny
Breath
big diffrence. here reaction yo her work on mlp and this. her gace is totaly diffrent
I kinda expected her to start throwing cats at some point.
anyone here from ilovekimpossiblealot? ;p
I am
+Nathan buchanan yup lol
yes
Yeah.
+Nathan buchanan Hell, I am late to the reply but yeah. I think most people are.
She deserved it
Hearing the Brony actors in the audience.
I think her name in Mlp is colorpura
colortura
+sweetie belle let go with Rara now ;-)
Znegil ya because she's cute
Legally Blonde the search for the next Elle Woods was not for her because she found her way...all on her own!
0:28 Matt Smith lookalike?
That's Neil Patrick Harris (TV's HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER). He won later that night for Best Actor in a Musical, also for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH.
is there anyone here for Hedwig? Or is it a dead fandom???
She needs to calm the heck down
+Lynn June I'd like to see how composed you keep yourself when you win such a huge award (don't mean to be rude, just saying).
Lynn June absolutely not! Look at her go, I'm so proud
Looks like her dress is about to fall off.
Incoming bronies. Watch out theater people... Oh they're already here. Well shit.
Inevitably, yes.
"my soon to be born niece"...cool...so we're just thanking things that had nothing to do with the work you did. Why not thank your bed? Don't thank your sisters curling iron though. The tools of your destruction don't need praise.
Who hurt you, honey?
Cool, so… when YOU win a Tony, make sure to remember your own advice 😉
@@fatduckross if you knew what I've won and who I thanked, you'd feel really foolish
@@theEricWalker but… have you won a Tony? Because that’s arguably one of the most prestigious awards in theatre. It’s normal to be excited and want to fit a bunch of things into your speech. Why do you care so much about who she thanks?
@@theEricWalker also, side note, I don’t see how winning any award justifies your need to dictate what she says in her OWN speech. If you feel so strongly about not thanking unborn nieces, then note it down for the next time YOU need an acceptance speech.
what an overly exaggerated front
