I absolutely love this album. I remember being obsessed with Toxicity when it came out and I listened to it almost nonstop for so long and then had no idea this album was coming out as it was super early 2000s and I was still in elementary school. I remember being so shocked and snagging it immediately but having to have my older brother buy it for me as It had a explicit label and the lady was not having it.
I know everyone was so much into what or who is Mr. Jack. But for me this song is a beaut because Daron and Serj are belting together. And they've harmonized it wonderfully.

I think that this makes a lot more sense after you listen to _Elect the Dead,_ or _Harakiri._ You can really come back to SOAD and get a feel for the energy that is more Darron or more Serj for some songs.

My head canon was that this “Mr. Jack” was some serial killer fantasist who adored Jack The Ripper. He wanted to be him, and so he would recreate his killings by murdering prostitutes at truck stops and dumping them off on the side of a random freeway. Hence the “side of the freeway, in the car” lyrics However, whenever I heard the later lyrics, this little story of mine fell apart quickly. But I still like to think of it sometimes. These 3 albums are so incredible and really show a lot of versatility and what their style and sound would become. They made a lot of great album after those 3 and still continue to make incredible music. I believe they would have become as big as SOAD I'd Rotten Records would have prompted them correctly of would have let them out of contract to sign with another label. They were approached by SOAD to be signed by them and of course Rotten Records wouldn't budge. Rotten Records also is the reason Acid Bath never got bigger.

This is ultimately an anti-authoritarian song, but rooted in their Armenian history. It tells of a possible dystopian future where, like what happened in the Armenian genocide, government officials/police hunt people down to kill them (Mr. Jack/pig/policeman finding any reason [alcohol, traffic light, etc] to pull a car over, and "cause" their "demise") or "take" them "away" to the death march. Maybe they think this is going on right now in some fashion, I'm not sure. To me though the song seems more like a warning, like we should never forget what happened in the past so we don't repeat it.

This is ultimately an anti-authoritarian song, but rooted in their Armenian history. It tells of a possible dystopian future where, like what happened in the Armenian genocide, government officials/police hunt people down to kill them (Mr. Jack/pig/policeman finding any reason [alcohol, traffic light, etc] to pull a car over, and "cause" their "demise") or "take" them "away" to the death march. Maybe they think this is going on right now in some fashion, I'm not sure. To me though the song seems more like a warning, like we should never forget what happened in the past so we don't repeat it.
