If she actually wanted to give you the SCIENCE behind this, she would never encourage a ton of people shaving their faces. It. Will. Make. Your. Damn hairs. Grow. Thicker. Always beware of the bias when someone is trying to sell you something. If you're female, not bothered by facial hair, and exfoliating regularly with no issues, there's no convincing reason to shave your face. I WILL tell you what happened when I tried it once when the "benefits" were being promoted. My skin initially felt smoother, yes. But then the stubble immediately started growing back in was 10x worse than the peach fuzz that was there since the soft, tapered ends were lopped off. It was itchy and just rough to the touch after going a single day without shaving my face. It was also more noticeable without the naturally tapered ends. I stopped shaving it and it took many months for the hair cycle to start over so it could be the way it was. Selling face razors to women is something I can see people doing because of the dependence it creates. I'd rather pass on spending the money, time, and getting the inevitable irritation from shaving my face constantly.

You're doing it wrong and you're probably just a hairy woman. I've done it 3 times in probably 5 months and I don't barely see any hair come off like I'm the videos but I know it's taking off dead cells none the less and I have a consistent routine for self care including facial care. Hadn't seen my grandma in a while and visiting her for Thanksgiving the very first thing she said was that my face was so clear/smooth mind you I had zero makeup just a consistent skin care routine that works for my skin which is a mix of high quality drug store products

Guys remember they are selling you something. Doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily bad but this is just a really nicely put together ad for their product. Of course it’s going to be super positive. Also I saw someone else comment that facial shaving seems like just another thing for women to be insecure about. Think about it for a second, you’re probably just fine and pretty without having to do this every 3-5 days 💕 but if you want to try it out or it works for you, then that’s good too. Just putting this out there for the women feeling pressured or hesitant about it.

“Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something”- The Princess Bride.
I started shaving my face because I grow a lot of facial hair, and it grows in all different direcrions so waxing never gets all of it. I think it got worse when I started using dermaplaners, so now I feel like there is no going back. I switched over to a shavette (like a practice straight razor with replacable thin blades) for basically all of my shaving because my other hair is always thick enough to clog standard safety razors. I still suck at using it and end up nicking myself a lot on my legs, but the process is so much easier than the razors I was using before and the results last longer because it shaves so close. Its wonderful on my face! This tangent is to say that growing coarse “beard” hair as a girl is something I get really insecure about. But trying out shaving seems to take care of it better than other methods, and using a badass straight razor type thingy with a shave brush and special soap makes me feel cool (even though I still suck at it haha)

As a post menopausal woman who grows stiff whiskers along my jawline, and a mustache that is darker and more visible on one side, I disagree. I pluck the chin hairs, and shave the rest of my face, including the peach fuzz on my cheeks, and my skin looks far better than when I haven't shaved for awhile.

Here is my advice from my personal experience. I have a lot of hair (Thick eyebrows, moustache, lots of body hair) and I’m actually convinced that I have very fast hair growth. So if I shave my face or anywhere, I can feel the stubs after a day, and it is very annoying and uncomfortable to touch. They definitely FEEL thicker even if people claim that it doesn’t grow back thicker. I have switched to waxing because my hair takes time to grow back and no more stubs.

Honestly I think it depends on each person's individual skin type. I shave my face maybe once or twice a month. The only time it makes me break out is if I try to speed up the process and do quick long strokes. Moving very slowly and in extremely small increments never causes problems. I used to shave with a damp face, and noticed that caused more tiny bumps opposed to a washed and dry face. Afterwards I don't put anything on my skin but cold water, and don't use any moisturizers for about a day. Honestly I love the way it makes my face feel, and because it removes dead skin also my face is always glowing the next day. I mainly shave around my cheek and jawbone, and very gently around my lips. I don't touch my forehead. I use the dermablade tools they sell on Amazon specifically for facial shaving. I don't really wear makeup but I have heard it makes makeup go on more smoothly. For sure wouldn't apply makeup though until after at least a day afterwards.

I shaved once, and the first week my skin felt softer and the products I used were better absorbed. However, when hair started to grow back, they all turned up to be ingrown hairs, especially in my cheekbones and chin. My skin started to be more sensitive, as it didn't had the protection of those peachy hairs and other sustances that were taken away when shaving (as it also exfoliates skin harshly).
As I result I had cystic acne and I'm in treatment with a dermatologist. I've never suffered from acne before, other than small pimples occasionally, which proves this technique is what damaged my skin severely.
It's been two months and I still have some ingrown hair cysts. I'm also struggling with the acne scars it left.
Please, ask a professional before and never do it yourself or without someone qualified.

the thing is you need to apply something before shaving, like aloevera gel and after shaving, you need to use sunscreen and moisturizer, because shaving removes dead skin cells which as shown in this video is kind of a later on your skin , so when that is removed, the skin is very vulnerable, so you need to block harmful substances such as sunrays and pollutants.

People freak out when they see women with facial hair. Aren't we all human? Isn't our hair a part of what we are? Someone some time ago decided that it wasn't feminine and now (some) women can't go without shaving. 👀 To each is own, but don't let it question your beauty or make you insecure. "You're beautiful no matter what they say!" I remember getting facial hair as a teen. I thought something was wrong with me. I played sports and was a tomboy. At one point, I questioned my identity and sexuality because of it. "Am I turning into a boy? I play ball and run track. I prefer jeans, sneaks, and a tee over dresses and makeup. And most of my friends are boys." I remember thinking that as I gazed into the bathroom mirror when I was in middle/high school. Some years later, I learned that I have something called PCOS. Whereas most people say their hair doesn't grow back thicker, mine does. Especially around the jaw and chin lines. I let it grow out during quarantine just for observation. It wasn't full. The chin area was and very noticeable. I also have a mustache, but you can barely see it. During observation, I tweezed one side and shave the other to see which side grew back faster. To no surprise, the side that I shaved did. The hair follicle wasn't removed so it made sense. I also noticed that the hair seems to grow thicker and/or faster the closer it gets to my period coming on. It actually starts itching. Tweezing is time consuming, but definitely worth it. Just takes time and patience. Shaving is convenient, but leaves me with bumps and/or scars. Tweezing may leave a bump or ingrown hair. Haven't tried waxing. Someone mentioned laser hair removal, but I don't know about that. I recently heard that shaving with aloe vera would help remedy the issues with shaving. I also have hyperpigmentation from all the scars. My man's don't have a problem with it though. (He actually suggested tweezing then shaving for smoother skin.) Ultimately, I don't either. It would just be nice if we didn't have to go through all the extra, but I guess that makes it worth it! 🤷🏾‍♀️ Feel free to drop a comment/tips below. I hope this helped someone.

so I bought the razor kit (just the one time thing, not the monthly subscription) and after using it once, my skin became EXTREMELY sensitive and dry. like SO dry. my skin hasn’t never been so dry and sensitive in my life. it was especially dry around my mouth, cheeks, and around any breakouts I had. it didn’t help with my acne or general softness of the skin. my skin was weirdly raw too? i play volleyball and when I sweat, my skin became very irritated and raw, especially when I went to wipe away the sweat, it became especially irritated in that area. this could work for some people, but if you have sensitive or dry skin, this is something I wouldn’t recommend

No - shaving hair doesn't change its thickness, color or rate of growth. Shaving facial or body hair gives the hair a blunt tip. The tip might feel coarse or "stubbly" for a time as it grows out. During this phase, the hair might be more noticeable and perhaps appear darker or thicker.

Okay I am a person who is more on the hairy side and even when I waxed or threaded my upper lips I got hair back in like 3-4 days!! So I thought shaving would definitely give me thicker hair and the hair growth will increase but the extremely opposite happened as I shaved my face it remained smooth for a week and the hair did not come back thicker at all and it actually reduced the hair growth and I did not shave my peach fuzz but actual dark hair and now I do it once every 2 weeks and it's hella effective, I am so much more confident about my skin and it has cleared up so much! It doesn't just make makeup application better ( I am not a person who applies makeup, it's just once a month so I didn't do this so that my make-up would be smoother) it makes all your skincare products penetrate deeper and you skin is so much smoother and better.
Tips: ( if it works for you)
First wash your face then take a steam, apply Aloe vera gel or some morturizer and then shave and after shaving make sure to was your face and apply some soothing mask or aloe vera gel! I personally like to apply the rice sheet mask from the face shop and wallah you have super smooth and beautiful skin. Also do not forget to clean your razor.
Ps: I have been shaving my face for a year now and it has changed my skin.

Idk if I have PCOS, but I do get the same type of abnormal facial hair growth. Thick, dark, terminal hairs like a guy’s beard. I’ve tried waxing and such but there is just so much of it and its so thick that it never got it all. So i decided what the hekk and started shaving it. I used dermaplaners at first but I think that made it worse. (Maybe it stimulated more to grow or something, or maybe I just happened to have some sort of coincidental hormone problem at the same time. Idk.) now I’ve Switched over to a shavette, and damn its so nice! I was really self conscious about my facial hair for a long time, and I still am when it grows in, but now I’ve finally found a “better” way for me to take care of it consistently. I’m glad we’re breaking the barriers too. Bodies are weird and beauty standards are weirder. I don't think that the shaving graphic is correct. When you cut hair off at the surface, I'm fairly confident that the hair doesn't magically grow a slim "tip" like uncut hair has. The hair is not alive and doesn't grow from the surface down... So the blunt end that you're left with when you cut the exposed tip off continues to grow as the hair moves up, it stays blunt. And presumably that feels coarser and may look "thicker" compared to the slim tips of uncut hair. (Like when you shave your legs vs wax).

    • @oblomovhans1659

      @eduardaarrais 3 года назад +11

@@madais11111 it won't go thicker regardless of what you do, don't worry, that's a myth. What determines the hair thickness is the hair follicle. By shaving your not doing anything to the follicle, just to the hair itself. For the first times shaving the hair they'll feel thicker but after a couple days it will stop feeling that way and after a while you won't feel that at all.
      Why do you feel that?
When you wax your hair has to grow back from follicle. It takes time and the end thins during that time. When you cut the hair a couple mm of it remain inside your skin. When they come out they are "thick" becayse they didn't have the time to thin out. After a couple days they will.

I can’t believe that there is a video recommending that women do this! OMG! NO! Don’t do this!!!! I know two female friends who used to do this and both of them ended up looking like they had five o’clock shadow on their faces (like mend have towards the end of the day)! They eventually had the facial hair professionally removed. Don’t do this!! Think about any time you shave your legs or underarms, it takes a few months but eventually the hair is courser and more visible. Even if you have “peach fuzz” on your face and you want to do this for a smooth makeup application,? You might look better for the first few months, but that will eventually change.m and you will start to notice that the hair on your face is becoming courser and more noticeable.

@@shobachitnis8274 no. there's this thing called “terminal hair growth” and it is when hair reaches the maximum length. yes, hair has limit for how long hair (on your head, face, armpits, chest, etc) can grow. and maximum terminal hair length depends on the length of the anagen (period of hair growth) for the individual. longer hair is only possible to reach for people with long anagen. and it also depends on where the hair grows in your body. i know, it's crazy how hair on the head gets really long but hair on anywhere else in our body doesn't get as long as the hair in our head. and this proves “terminal hair growth”, well, at least to me.
edit: to add, we are born with the total amount of hair follicles we will ever have over our lifetime. and we do not regenerate hair follicles (cos if we do, hair thinning and baldness wouldn't have existed, right?). so i don't think we will ever “grow more hair”.

like many others commenting their results from dermaplanning. I want to share mine as well as it's a little different to others. When my hair started to grow back, it came out the same as before however I started to experience acne on my upper lip area, 'philtrum' which btw, I have always experienced acne but never there. Like ever. And my dermaplanning was done by a professional who told me that dermaplanning is mainly for those that need their makeup to look good on a day soon from the appointment (within that week) and that when the hair is growing back, its common to experience acne. (she only informed me of this, mid procedure hence why I didn't back out) but yes. personally, I find that there are other treatments that would better suit you for your needs. So, advice, do dermaplanning if its for the makeup aspect or the actual hair removing aspect. But for acne, scarring, dark spot, collagen, or dead skin cell removal, do something that's more suited towards that and since it's specialized towards that aspect, it should hopefully get you better results than the dermaplanning would.
