Dear Google...I HATE THE NEW NEST CAM OUTDOOR WITH BATTERY, you want me to buy the electric cord, pay for the subscription of only 3 hours and is not even waterproof. You really screwed up this time.
So I loose 24/7 video, have to switch to google account breaking all of my works with nest integrations and have to pay one more dollar as well? Thanks Google! So glad I bought into this mess...

I see the video history but nothing plays back. I just have a series of still shots. How does it stream?

Can you do this on a desktop ? I can't see the event history on a desktop.
What about watching on my computer and not an app on my phone. Nest can be viewed on my computer. I see no option for this using google on the computer.
So youre telling me my camera only shows me events, and not recordings of specific times?
Where is the timeline icon as nest app? So I can see every second, but in google home, there is only video event in the history.
I'm able to clip and watch videos for my outdoor Nest cams (4) generation 1 on Nest app. I'm not able to view clips for Nest cam outdoor generation 2 on Nest app as can only use Google Home but everytime I select a clip, it just keeps clocking/spinning. All five are connected to my same hone network. I've email Google Nest Cam support but no reply.

I have 5 Nest cams. To view the 24/7 video recording, for the 4 oldest cams, I can see every second of past history (not just Events picked up by the cams) on my Nest Aware Plus (android and laptop app)...which is GREAT. BUT...my 3 day old cam can only be seen on Google Home (not the Nest Aware Plus app). I was told I'd have to go OFF "battery only mode" and wire it to see 24/7 (scrollable) history. It's now wired but how do I scroll through 24/7 history like I can on the Nest Aware Plus android app? Thanks.
I have a similar situation. It’s absolutely ridiculous how difficult they make some of this stuff. It’s extremely frustrating
I have the exact same issue. I thought I must have been pranked. I’ve never seen a worse integration of a product. They bought all of nest and don’t even fully support it in their own apps. I cannot stand it. Which is sad because Nest is the only camera that seems to work through glass to pick up motion as I like to keep them inside due to cold temps outside.
Save your money don't buy nest hello after 16 months under a covered front porch the hard plastic front starts to peel razor like edges around the button

They force you to use the Nest app in order to save a clip. You cannot save a clip with the Google Home app for some bizarre reason. So you need two apps.

Me too, how do save the video? It was once intuitive with the nest app, now you need an mechanical engineering degree… I can’t figure out how to save a video

Nope. Google is a very unethical company and is shafting all customers who use Nest cameras. April 2024 Google is discontinuing the nest app permanently. All dropcam and dropcam pros will be rendered worthless and unusable.
I can see the historical video, but I can't hear it. When I go live I can hear the events.

Really? I'll check it out I'm using a nest home cam. The features that these people are showing on the app. Aren't even available to me? So I'll find it in settings??
I am very happy with my camera, setup my zones and alerts all via the Google Home app but my neighbor had their cars catalytic converter stolen in the middle of the night and my camera recorded it (out of my zone and alert), is there a way to save that video and send it to the police?
Doesn't display 'recent events'. Google is so un-on-top-of-their-own-technology.

Nest is garbage.
Really poor video. As someone else commented, it looks nothing like my app.
So after paying for the camera I now have to pay for a fucking subscription to see playback.
Almost everyone does this. Google. Ring, Wyze. Only like Eufy doesn't charge I believe. Inflation. Storing video content is alot of storage and they have to pay for everyone that buys their stuff.
