Have the battery 1gen..no issues with the new home update it has been actually managing my battery better.i still top it off once a month..coming from eufy where my notifications were awful..ring doorbell was just thick for my door frame..
This company's associates are lousy. I would never get anything from them again. I don't like not having a paper contract. This signing with your fingers. They can charge you anything and add what they want, you can't read there paper work because it's letting is to small and they get over on the elderly especially.
I just bought the Battery Nest Doorbell & a Nest Cam for my driveway. Im going to have my nephew install (he doesn't know yet, lol). He's an electrician. How often will I have to take down the cam & doorbell to recharge?
The Battery operated version doesn´t even support a chime. A serious letdown imo, you have to settle with a short notification on your phone or message on a nest speaker. I mean c´mon, even my cheap wireless predecessor doorbell came with a decent chime you could simply plug into a power outlet.
Google Nest SUCKS!!!! I've had it since 2020. HUGE DELAY in notifications. By the time I'm notified that someone range the bell, they're long gone. Also, sometimes when someone rings the bell, the recording will stop. I pay the paid for the service and so I get the 24/7 recording, yet sometimes when the bell is rung it stops recording. So if I review the video to see who came by, the moment before they range the bell is recorded but the video doesn't come back until you see the person leaving.
@@UnitedWeStand0-0 nope something changed the delays are getting worse I have 5Gig fiber internet with a WiFi 7 high end router and the camera has a huge delay I tried Ring and Arlo and I have verified it’s a google issue. I had 1st gen google nest which worked great till it didn’t then I upgraded to 2nd gen and the notifications are horrible the delay is unacceptable. I ended up switching to ring I hate the fish eye view on the ring but the notifications are pretty good. I only wish doorbells would show up on the hub like the 1st gen google nest camera full screen it seems we are moving backwards.
I have the wired Nest doorbell since 11 months and I am very satisfied with it. However, the Nest Aware Plus subscription is very disapointing as it is impossible to select and create personnal videos, you have to settle with the event driven clips that the software determines, and those clips miss a lot of very valuable information. A lot of events are not captured by the software; also, there is no timeline of events that is provided wth the clips which is invaluable information for law enforcement.
I installed the wired v2 doorbell last week. I didn’t need facial recognition nor purchase a plan so I can’t comment on that. However, I did set up zones to notify me of people anywhere in zone 1 and packages only in zone 2. I had to tweak these zones a bit for all but 2 days to get rid of annoying notifications that did not meet my criteria. It works flawlessly now. However, it will still record activity, just not notify me. Out of the box, it will capture up to 3 hours and make it available in a time stamped list. Most recordings are around 10 seconds long unless someone or something lingers in the field of view. This 3 hours is more than enough to capture overnight video. I found this device is very customizable and worked just fine for my specific use case, which is people and packages. I filtered out animals, moving vehicles, and everything else the camera sees, aside from people and packages as I indicated inside my specific zones. I also selected which of my Google devices to use for announcements and which ones to disable. It really works like a charm for me and my needs.
Only 3 hours of recording is kept unless you pay for a plan? So basically if your car gets robbed at midnight, by the time you wake up, no video will be available to review. Hard pass on this doorbell. Thanks for your review.
It only activates when it sees someone and records for 30 seconds, and if there's still movement it'll record another 30 seconds. It works like a sensor light, so it's not recording nonstop. I've got the outdoor cam. It's not bad, you can set it to recognise faces, ppl, pets or cars etc or you can have it only record when a person moves into the zone you choose
You are ill informed. There's something called businesses and something called storage. The first has a goal to make money (like I assume you do unless you don't have a job and maybe you don't). The second is something needed for your videos and it's not free. If it's free please give me free storage. You can't it costs you money. Especially if you have to store thousands/millions of videos for months. Google at least gives you 3 hours for free unlike many others.
I got the battery and i will never ever recommend it to any one , had it for few months straight trash, never connects when i need it too, it’s useless
The recording sucks. My internet is excellent working condition. I get alerts, but no video plays during time of action. Video is unavailable. By the time video decides to play, the people, person, animal, or car has left. This gives anyone time to do whatever they need to do whether good or bad. I am using the subscription which allows longer video to be stored a lot longer than the 3 hours given. I will say, this cam doorbell is better than nothing at all. But if you can choose better, get better. I will continue shopping for better.
stick with the nest hello until they can integrate the smoke detectors- u will be mad that this 2nd gen doorbell doesn’t work with the nest app- fix this google!!!

Great, I clicked on a commercial.
Yup... tons of stock video footage and reading product descriptions. 🤦

Surprisingly I have no issues with mine (yet) I have the battery operated one. Let’s see if I’ll have problems in the future.

If you're on Wi-Fi. Maybe it's your Wi-Fi speed? If you're home. It takes a few seconds longer for notifications. If you're gone. It's faster

Seems like this video is actually _only_ what others have bee telling me.
Can you mute the chime sound on the doorbell's internal speaker?
What no one is telling you that when it's cold outside the camera stops working.
I love the Google battery doorbell camera as it's so easy to steal as you even miss so many events while the battery is dead in a year.
Does rhe wired record all the time?
It does but you must get the Nest aware plus subscription.

The battery life is horrible. Mine last 1 week. I've tried turning on all of the battery saving features

How do i turn off the motion detector
This doorbell sucks. If you're out camera should come up on your phone but it doesn't. The Ring doorbell does. Why can't Google fix it?
They also dont tell you that even when wired the battery can drain if you have a lot of traffic
Why is it so big?
UGh click bait title. This is just a normal review
Talk so much. Just get to the point

It’s a useless doorbell , there is no notification on iPhones, no chimes - pretty useless video doorbell
Sounds like user error to me
