The conversation was about bleeping Fortune . Mae said “I hope we air on April fools day” because it occurred to to Mae that a funny April’s fools day episode would be bleeping random words.
It’s funny to me that Tiffany and Fortune then think Mae was worried they wouldn’t last until April. Mae was saying she hopes they release a show in April 1, not concerned that they wouldn’t last until then.

I love that Mae knows the random facts, because that is my household's life. Kids that are non-neural typical and they tell me I'm in the same camp, but not diagnosed. Oumuamua is an interstellar object that traversed our solar system rather quickly. All the images you see of it are 'artists rendering' because we didn't have the ability to actually take a photograph of it. They used a bit of imagination and based its shape on radio telescope data that located and tracked the object as it flew through. Those artist rendering being taken for an image of the actual object is one of my pet peeves. Just like when I see one of those posters that is meant to be our galaxy with a tiny arrow that point to what is supposedly Earth saying 'You are here'.. because we don't have a photo of our galaxy. We haven't been able to extend our 'space arms' out long enough for a selfie. Those posters are usually photos of our nearest galaxy, Andromeda, that scientists think our galaxy resembles, but not quite. So, Mae, I see you and I appreciate your 'Mae facts'.
This episode gave middle school sleepover vibes, where Tig is the cool oldest sibling who is tolerating the younger kids, Fortune is the unhinged child who wants to break the rules, and Mae is the slightly dorky young child trying to impress the older kids. Cracked me up.

Joseph Kittinger did not go to space, he was at about 30km height, space is defined to be at about 100km height, because of some "a theoretical airplane couldn't fly there anymore" argument. But anyways, a hot air balloon can not leave earth. It only rises to about 30km. Above that, the air around the balloon is less dense than within, so it stops rising. In order to escape gravity, it would have to have a speed, like for example from a rocket engine ;)

I'm a Wisconsin native and we never said 'warsh'. But my mom was really particular when it came to diction, so my accent came out as 'midwest-undefined'. But I don't even remember my friends saying this.

I haven't laughed SO hard at anything like I laughed at the Sally Ride 100 tampon story. 😂 My spouse could hear me from across the house. My uncle says “piffle”! He used to always be like “ohhh, piffle!” It always gave me a giggle!
In the early 70's we used to charge up our one glow in the dark frisbee sneak out of the house after dark and go throughout the neighborhood throwing the frisbee passed peoples windows and run to the next yard. It was a highlight.

The most impressive engineers in the country, pretty much the world-literal rocket scientists-looked around, shrugged, and had the first American women in space use diapers to go to the bathroom instead of engineering a solution to this problem.

When I'd buy tampons or pads for my wife or kids the people in the store were either embarrassed men who attempted to ignore me or women who treated me like a hero. When I got home, I was thanked for not forgetting the ice cream.
