Neal will always be a "-nervous sweaty criminal" to me. I don't remember the name of the 18+ cartoon right now. But he looks like one of the characters. The old cartoon is about a prison and has lots of death and violence.
Tig- I really hope you know, in your very core of yourself, you are beyond talented. When we watch you, we lean in. I’m not sure how else to describe the experience. Your timing, delivery, the picture you paint in our collective minds and the ridiculously funny places you take us…. Pure joy. And. Your acting, the choices of material and who you surround yourself with are all fabulous to watch. Again, you inspire your audience to lean in, to hear you. Thank you for being you!💖💕💖
Great comment. I've always loved Tig but never realized how much I do lean in every time she speaks. It's like her every movement is fascinating and like a quiet contagious joy. I suppose this is what a highly funny and intelligent human looks like when they're truly in their integrity. Or perhaps it's just the Scott Pilgrim theory that great power comes with being vegan.
Why do you say “we” and “us”? Just be an individual. Sure, we agree with what you said. I mean, sure, I agree with what you said, but I am not you and you are not me.
Clicked so fast when I saw Tig. The Handsome pod is my absolute favorite thing to watch each week. Tig, Fortune and Mae always seem so genuine and can get to the heart of things while making me laugh.
I’m glad you’ve recovered ❤ once you smell c-diff you never forget it. You always know in a hospital if there’s an outbreak on a floor - hits you as soon as the elevator opens
I currently have a bacterial infection in my intestines and it's one of the most painful and exhausting things I've ever been thru. I'm Soo glad it's not c diff tho! Glad you're better! Hoping I'll be getting there soon😩
@@weirdloverwildeyikes! I was studying to become an AHT and put in many long volunteer hours at a city animal shelter. VACCINATE, SPAY, NEUTER. Please.
Met tig at a show before her health battles and she was super kind and gave me a hug. Just a genuine person who happens to be hilarious. Huge fan- tig deserves the success!
I was just noticing this. In some of his earlier interviews he would interject too much and ask leading questions, which he himself admitted to. It's great to see Neal improving upon his skills as an interviewer, it really suits the premise and format of this amazing podcast.
not at all putting words in their mouth ... not constantly seeking validation by interjecting mid-sentence to describe whatever the topic would be like for him, and following up with "is that how it is for you?" and then pretending that's a question
It's because she has an intimidating conversation style. She is very quick and is able to pick your sentences apart just after you've said them. It makes it hard to talk to someone like that you are always editing your internal dialogue more before you speak. It can be exausting even in a person you like
I agree with Tig, heart break helped me grow. I went to therapy after my Mom's death and man. I grew a lot, not perfect. Just perfect in my imperfection.
Tig, you hit on something with the "Am I cursed?" feeling prior to a cancer diagnosis. Same here. A bunch of bizarre and serious health issues happen...Am I cursed?...and then a Stage 3 cancer diagnosis. As a physician, this may be something to watch for.
It was interesting to hear her speak on how dramatically she changed after her cancer and after her mother passing and I can relate because I changed dramatically after I was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic at 12. My life had no choice but to change at that point. To survive. I'm 53 now but besides diet changes, it changes who you are. I'm definitely tougher but in other thought processes too. While it's a pain in the ass, I'm smarter about decisions. I'm a huge fan of hers and this was a great conversation between you two.
This comment almost made me cry. I'm currently going thru a big medical change and I know my life will have to change and I'm honestly pretty scared that I can't do it and I'll never feel better then I do now. It's nothing as terrifying as diabetes thankfully but after 35 years of doing the same things and having to change basically my entire lifestyle is daunting. Especially while I'm still in the testing and pain phase. I hope I can be as strong as you were at just 12.
this was just wonderful. thank you so much. lovely to see your friendship, and loved the range of critical topics you covered and the way you covered it with such clarity, calm, depth and just the right amount and kind of humour sprinkled in effortlessly. this kind of stuff is the best part of youtube.
I wasn't going to watch this, but It rained really hard, and I needed something really, really dry to help with the humidity. I have loved Tig since I saw her do the fan's house tour. Always happy to see her in any circumstance.
I agree with what Neal is saying about how people pretty much don't change unless they almost die, but with a slight difference. I think they don't change unless they perceive an existential threat in their life. Sometimes that threat is medical, physical, or psychological, but it can also be spiritual. I've known a couple of people who took stock of their life sometime in their 30s or 40s and realized that they were never going to get what they needed out of life and found that thought so terrifying, nullifying in a way, that it precipitated real change for them.
Tig is one of the greatest of all time. Her style is so singular, but as I originally hail from the South, I can feel her detached bemusement and irony in my bones man.
Huge hugs and love to you both -- I laughed and cried during this conversation....keep having them please...you guys are priceless. I hope you know how much impact you and the comedy community have on the planet/world....stay strong.
In the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of our history “And I see your tongue go into your cold one” is the most beautiful.
Trauma definitely impacts the health of the body -- autoimmune disease for one, Look at Gabor Mate's work. And, a deep bow to you, Tig, a great example of how to move along with the challenges of severe and chronic health issues.
Wow! I feel like this episode in itself represents two people with different beliefs and backgrounds hearing each other and also goofing around some topics, being really open on some others. That’s so rare this days as Internet is strongly divided in corners.

The tongue when drinking! Lol!!! I think of this as my body's autopilot taking over where the tongue acts as a kind of docking mechanism, a probe facilitating the successful transfer of liquid into one's mouth by sensing the distance between lips and container, thereby minimizing the potential for embarrassment by dribbling liquid down my shirt. ;)
