    This is great! Thank you! I had my cabin air filter in my 2007 Odyssey changed at an oil change place (Valvoline) and they messed up my glove box and we couldn't get it back open! We had to break it to get it open. I now have a 2011 and I will do it myself. That way if it messes up, I have only myself to blame. Thank you!

    Thanks for the video, I had got stalled part way through following my nose trying to get the filter unit out of the car.
    Something I did stumble across this that may be of interest. When you take the filter out of the plastic frame, you can see a pocket moulded into the plastic frame running right across the inside of the front and back pieces - the pieces of the frame that are parallel to the folds of the paper element. When you are putting the paper element into the frame, with a bit of care you can guide the first and last folds into these pockets. This effectively seals the paper up against the front and back of the frame, preventing leaks of unfiltered air around the paper filter. When I got my filter out, I had three such leaks around the filter, two at the back and one at the front and I suspect that quite a bit of air was bypassing the cabin filter this way. And one of my family is VERY sensitive to the pollen that is around at the moment (the reason I was cleaning the filter anyway. AND given your warning about matching the airflow direction of the filter and the frame: if the air-flow directions aren't matched up, you will have an end of paper rather than a fold to put into the pocket, and that won't work at the edges of the paper.

    • @christopherhaak9824
      @christopherhaak9824 2 года назад

      Yes, make sure the pleat on each end reaches over the small plastic fin on each end. This effectively seals in the filter and prevents leaks.

    Nice video. I used to make $5.00 commission on every cabin air filter I sold at the shop I worked at in Dallas, TX. It was nothing for me to sell ten of these in a day. The shop I worked at stocked fifty of the filter you showed at all times. And we charged $59.99 for the filter, installation included. Still cheaper than most dealers.

      Thanks for your comment. There are many people that prefer the shop to this replacement and some people are just too busy to do it themselves. This video will help those who likes to work on their own car.

    Thanks, this was helpful. I have a 2016 Odyssey...the only problem I'm having is that the part on the left (you're calling it a damper but I don't think mine is the exact same as what you've got here) came disconnected and I can't figure out how to reconnect it. I can't push up the arm with my finger to push it back together as I close the glove box. But maybe that's not totally necessary? Just lining up the two hinges at the bottom is seeming to work fine. Any advice on how to get it back together?

    • @warlordblee1968

      Sorry to hear. I am also quite disappointed with the quality of Honda vehicles. Even though I still have mine, I would not buy a Honda again. People say all vehicles have problems, but the problems on the Honda are big items and expensive to repair. I also own a Nissan and absolutely love it. Good luck with your repair.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  8 лет назад

      +Irfan There is only one air filter for the entire car. As to the AC condenser, you have 2, one in the front for the front dual zone, and one in the rear for the rear AC and the condenser is located in the rear passenger quarter panel. The condenser does not require any maintenance.

      Logan Hurry I did a video on changing both the in cabin air filter and the engine air filter. There is really nothing to break as the ABS plastic are quite durable. Give it a try and save some money. You can buy aftermarket filter or just buy it from your honda delaer parts dept.

    Most neglected filter by far, and makes a world of difference in air flow.
