I’m really looking forward to seeing the improvements all the mods can take advantage of, now that 64bit is available, and the large memory support increase that brings.
I'm personnaly secretly hoping for a Star Wars Galactic Battleground definitive edition just like AoE 2. Would be so great to be able to play this game with the AoE 2 QOL and graphics
I've wanted some kind of sustained damage mechanic for rubber banding, general strategy, and keeping units instead of dice roll based on unclear damage pools for a long time; this is great news!
One bug fix i hope they changed was the fact that the damned correlia piracy mission with the consortium had a crash rate of 100%, and patched that maybe
I am very much happy with this update, I was so pleased that remake even with 3 people and a submod still runs the whole round without crashing and that TR runs more consistently with more people
17 years later and still one of my favourite games. Thanks Petroglyph. I really hope for sequel... and as personal note for Remake of Tiberian Sun/Red Alert 2 he same way they did Tiberium Dawn/Red Alert. And considering Outlaws: Honestly im not really worried as much for Star Wars curse, but rather about Ubisoft curse.
This is cool and I appreciate this patch, but I wish they'd attempt to fix the performance. The flickering thing with the mouse was always easily fixable for me, but the game's performance is the only thing holding back most mods for me. especially late game GC maps getting rid of some crashes is cool of course.
yeah especially since gc performance issues are almost 100% badly designed AI because the lag is directly proportional to how many units the ai controls it's fixable you just need someone who knows the AI code and the original devs are probably long gone
Yeah, and basegame Conquests run super fine. Honestly, this patch actually brought me quite a bit of fps. I always tought, it was thrawn's revenge, but I never noticed, that it was bc of the mouse @@ProbablyNotAChicken
(not a joke) i am actually working on an (unofficial) sequel for the game named "ascending empires", i have a discord server for that and do votings for new features but i am very happy they did this update, it was basically impossible to play mods in multiplayer before, i always got "out of sync"
Do you perchance have a video that goes over what are some of the mods that appeared in this video? I picked up the game in the steam sale, but have no idea what mods are available, let alone good 😂
Not with Eckstoo, but here are links to their past videos going over different mods: Fall of the Republic: ruclips.net/video/giXeHrF_dEg/видео.html Thrawn's Revenge: ruclips.net/video/CuCn8WMQPrg/видео.html Awakening of the Rebellion: ruclips.net/video/UXgCawswHgw/видео.html
Fall of the Republic if you like Clone Wars stuff. Thrawn's Revenge for post-Endor Legends stuff. Both are made by the same people, so they work nearly the same. Awakening of the Rebellion revamps the Galactic Civil War by adding more units, more planets, different progression systems and a vastly different way to play each faction than the base game. Their space battles are smaller than the previous mods I mentioned though, but the combat itself is more in depth. Imo, FoR and TR are faster paced and bigger in scale. Whereas AotR is slower, smaller and more complicated (sometimes to its detriment). Ground battles for all three mods are passable. For me, I prefer AotR mostly due to the fact that FoR and TR games quickly start to transform into who spams capital ships the most. AotR has it too but isn't as noticeable.
did gog also recive this uptade or just steam? can anyone tell me what the latest patch number is so that i can compare if the november patch is instaled ( i'm using the gog gold edition, i have the cds but a few years back i got the gog version as well, i would not be a fan of having to buy it a 3rd time on steam tbh, this game defenetly deserves it, but in the current economy i can't exactly afford it :( )
Respawn has been patching Titan Fall 2 out of the blue and with no big announcements recently as well. Why dose this matter? Well according to roomers Respawn is working on a new Star Wars RTS title. I think this is a good sign that we get a new RTS rather sooner than later.
When in doubt, just always update the oldie yet goodie Legends titles, especially for multiplatform purposes (for every TIE Fighter theoretically ported well to the PlayStation and Xbox, there has to be Bounty Hunter for the PC). Won't be long before Disney Alt-universe titles will end up as irrelevant and gaming pariah-ish as Assassin's Creed and The Elder Scrolls.
Thrawns revenge is the name of the mod. Great mod, I make a point of also downloading the bombs/missiles penetrate shield submod as well, makes space combat much more scary 😬
Well I think the game is grand but I avoid playing because mods are just too laggy and I have a decent gaming pc, I hope you will make video on things you can do to improve performance
If you’re on steam, go into properties, go to betas, choose 32-bit, and your saves will be there. You won’t have any of the improvements from this update but you can finish your games

Oh man I don't think it will ever happen...but YES that would rock
Great idea -- the game is turning out to be the same kind of classic.
the fact that these game gains players over time instead of losing them is insane
"After 17 years.." - yeah it feels like that since the last Eckstoo video about wars star
3:23 bold of you to think i had any friends
Love that this game is still getting support!
Let's hope that this patch is the prelude to EaW II
It's been a while ! Glad to hear your voice again =D

0:13 As you can see, some captains initiated a strobe protocol to help with IDing, in preparation for an operation inside the [REDACTED] Nebula.
"Resonance" by Home is such a great choice for background music!
Will download it again now with these changes.

There's nothing to "fix" because the unmodded game runs fine. That would be akin to asking Bethesda to make ENB's run better.

Multiplayer alone is huuuuuuuuuuuge! pretty much never saw a Multiplayer Round succeed in Remake.
remake still desyncs for me but it happens after several minutes and not instantly
Outstanding. Maybe I’ll get this another go again soon
please start making empire at war videos again!!
aww thats good. I wonder if the GOG version will be updated .
Quick little note: your graphic says that 64-bit allows addressing up to 16TB of RAM. The limit is actually ~16,000,000TB of ram, or ~16 exabytes.

I still play EaW, mostly just single player space skirmishes though.
I feel this man's pain, I too played for years with Hardware Mouse on as well. @.@
Are you talking about steam gold pack version?
I've been playing like this for THREE YEARS COREY.
My steam copy hasn't been updated since 2018. It seems there are no updates available.
So, I have the OG discs (no dlc) and they still install and run ok, even if I need to have a disc in a drive. How do I get into this new thing?
Steam copy.

Will they update the game to use more than 1 core ?
You guys should cover sci-fi games in general to keep the channel alive.
Id give both lungs to get a banger sequel or remake
When is this update going to be available? Or is it already?
It’s already out. If you use the Steam Version it should have automatically updated

Love the game. But have a severe framerate problem of 1 to 3 fps. I have tried everyting :(
look that ships, what mod is this i want iiiiiiiiiiit

My probelm is it deleted my old saves on fun battles.
These are great and all but not at the cost of losing all my saved games (275 hours of game play)

Will the empire at war mods run well on an ASUS ROG STRIX G15, 15.6, 300 Hz?
yes. but performance still won't be as good as newer games
