I'm still so confused about the Jasper style situation. The way he phrased it (if it wasn't a lie, which it probably was) the vet told him that they wanted to do bloodwork but didn't explain why, and then Phil, in his infinite wisdom, instead of actually ACKsking why they wanted to do bloodwork, just said NO, nuh uh, too expensive, we aren't doing that.
If Philbert is telling the truth, the vet is dubious at worst and Phil is just an idiot for not asking more questions, and if he's lying then somehow he doesn't even manage to make himself sound smart in the lie.
I really just don't get it.

The hori hayabusa stick is mainly used to fit into hori branded sticks. A sanwa JLF stick is a stick that can pretty much fit into any fightstick. My hori hayabusa stick has a JLF stick in it as i replaced the hayabusa and i even swapped out the hayabusa buttons for sanwa ones. But phil tried to fit a square peg into a round hole and never did any research.

What a shocker, a part not meant for the certain device is not compatible, almost like putting the wrong wire into an electrical plug outlet and being surprised that something goes wrong (the L1, N, and PE wire for anyone interested). Almost common sense.
Also let's all remind ourselves: this 300 dollar joystick was more important than the health of his cat who he considers his son.
If he ever had an actual son he would be 100% the type who leaves him locked in a car under a scorching sun and then being surprised when the poor kid dies from heatstroke. If detractors detracting actually convinced him not to have kids (doubt that the closed men enjoyed would ever consider a woman in a "horizontal tango" way) then this is proof that they do good work, cuz any kid with DSP as a pattern would suffer. A lot.

I work profressionally as an electronic technician style individual. The whole fight stick segment was both hilarious and frustrating as hell to watch. Number 1 rule of electronics is don't think you're smarter than the ones who designed it.
Guy thinks a part made by one manufactuer would be compatible with a system made by a diffetent manufacturer?
Also, certain housings are built in a specific way to secure it, and for a fight stick, having your buttons stuck in place and not going anywhere just sounds like good design. If you need to change buttons, there's probably a tool they use to remove them. If you're resourceful enough, you could try a tool around the house that can perform the same function, but we all know Phil isn't clever enough for that.
According to him, the engineers and designers who made this fight stick are dumb because they built a product that he's too dumb to figure out himself. Make that make sense.
I'm pretty sure his electronic expertise just comes from switching inputs on a TV or using backwards compatibility features on an Xbox.

17:29 as a person who messes with electronics on partworks models, I can see exactly what the problem is.
The wire to the joystick is designed to fit in a certain way with a narrower joystick. So, for this wider one, Phil has too much wire that is pushing against the button. All he would need to do is clip the wire, shorten it, and then solder the new connection together, maybe with some heat shrink tubing to cover the wires.
OR he could drill a new hole for the joystick to come out, moving the existing hole over enough to allow the new stick to fit inside. Sure, it would take some extra modding, but that's what you do with a joystick: mod it and make it your own.
But, again, this is Phil. Always looking to do the LEAST amount of work possible.

If I get THIS one on Amazon, I'll play better, and when I play better I make more money. Kat, this stick is going to save the business, I have to. I can't play SF6 anymore with that stick, i need THIS one so we can make more money. "

Whats great is phil thinks "more expensive = more better" which is true sometimes, but for the price of $400, he could of bought a $100 joystick that would of lasted as long as his qanba. Which would of saved him $200. I never understood the mindset to spend Big bucks for controllers, when you could get controllers for half the cost that work just as good. He does zero research and just looks for whats the most expensive, thinking that'd be the best choice.

What i found also strange beside him ripping apart 2 working Joysticks to create an abomination that doesn't work is that he has the Gamepad on his legs, if he just moves the mike and adjust a tiny amount he could have it on the table and everyone could see the parts way better.

I love when we get such overt examples of DSP not knowing how anything works. And good grief, as a tradesman, him using a freaking Swiss army knife is triggering the shit out of me. Someone tell him the Swiss army knife is for survival/emergency situations when one doesn't have access to tools. All Phil had to do was walk downstairs, and with the amount of dead air he has already how would him going downstairs be any different.

13:16 Looks like the problem is the berg pin connections are horizonal sticking out too far. That's where the issue is . Try bending the pins vertical and then attaching the connection. And if bending the pins is going to impede putting the back cover on, then head over to amazon (or wherever) and get an assortment of male berg connectors. Take off that original burg pin and solder on the wires from the burg pin you just bought and have a connection that you can plug in the controller connection and let the wire hang anywhere. 11:34 As you can see the pins right here. That's easily modable to get the results you want. 27:48 Yeah it's the connection that's the issue not the entire replacement joystick. The white berg connection sticks out too far. Just mod it as I describe above. Easy peasy and done.

    5:11 Phil...
Suggestion (n): the act or process of suggesting.
Suggest(ing) (v): to mention or imply as a possibility, or to offer for consideration or as a hypothesis.
A hypothesis is an assumption based on a basic background review. You ask a question, review data that has been collected prior, and then form a hypothesis to test.
So yes, suggestions may be a little long. They are giving you the research they have done to form the hypothesis at the core of their suggestion, which they are submitting for consideration.
But this is Phil. He just wants the quickest and easiest answer to making money. Anything that requires work, time, effort, or spending money is immediately rejected.

  • @Cofcos
    @Cofcos 3 месяца назад +1

'The rejections-- suggestions are outdated' There are suggestions that could've been made from the first time he streamed that could still apply today. I'm sure some of them were made in the first "suggestion box".
And, as if anyone other than DSP needs a reminder, his ranting about how terrible the designers of the fight stick he took apart are because his expectations borne of ignorance were not met is a perfect example of why everyone hates him.

He makes me doubt my own sanity at times. Who in the history of the universe has called a peaked cap, a style of hat used in military and service uniforms since the 19th Century, an "M. Bison Hat?" It would be nice if joysticks were interchangeable across brands, but I don't believe for one second this is something people expect.
I expect USB A plugs to fit into any USB A socket, regardless of who makes it. I don't believe there's a standard for joysticks.

Did anyone really expect Phil would be able to actually fix the stick? The only way he was 'fixing' this stick was through luck. And then because he's only good for botching and moaning he says the company should be making universal parts for their sticks. The world should just magically bend to what Phil wants, instead of look things up ahead of time.
Also, spoiler alert, the guy got a new stick and still got his ass beat. What cope will he fall back to next to explain why he doesn't suck? He already fixed the delay issue, then got a new stick to replace his supposedly broken one. What will it be next, the console itself is broken?
And no, I do not believe a fan bought that new stick. It came from amazon. which he exclusively uses. Also his dents can't pool together 50 bucks a day anymore, but someone was able to buy a 400 dollar fight stick?

So if someone's suggestion was simply "Hey Phil you're always talking about games taking too long. Why don't you cut down the podcast by 30 minutes to get more playtime in?" I think that's a pretty valid point it addresses one of Phil's complaints and gives him a simple solution.
Obviously I'm a damn dirty troll dood. Trying to take away that podcast money, or I'm trying to hurt him and his family. This 40 year mans eyes/hands can't handle that extra time of gameplay. His family would be put in danger somehow.
