I just bring a Grizzly cooler full of ice water and whenever the opportunity arises, cool off in air conditioned businesses during an exceptionally hot workday.
My job has us delivering heavy equipment to homes, and most of the homes are owned by elderly. They mostly never use the AC, instead they use the heater. Hot outside and cooking indoors. Already had 3 drivers pass out from heat exhaustion. One guy is a veteran and passed out walking to his car in a parking lot. Been buying Costco water bottles for delivery drivers as well as snacks. You guys are what help keep the country moving. Irks me when DSP complains about the heat in his room and gets sweaty when he's in an intense fight in SF6. I'd love for him to work with my team for a month in July.
If you’re able to, I recommend a water mister (maybe a small squirt bottle)? And a fan. Spray some water on yourself and point the fan at you - the water becomes a heatsink and you’ll cool off fast (fun fact, that’s how ACs work fundamentally)! If the water gets warm, wipe it off and repeat. That’s how I’ve been surviving the current heatwave, it does wonders.

I hate it when Phil says "what everyone does". Usually that's not the case at all, and many times Phil is doing something a lot of creators do but in a totally different and worse way. Finally, just because everyone does something doesn't make it acceptable, good entertainment, or not off putting.
Maybe now I'm talking out of my ass but I have an advice for "shit talking" (though full disclosure I go more for the entertainment kind, aka full clown mode, rather than the tough guy or toxic DSP does): use of exaggeration is your friend here, also proper use of deadpan can be useful too. With the exaggeration you can set immiedatelly the comedy front and center and really obviously, deadpan and fully serious while saying outright batshit crazy things. Example 1: in work my coworker 1 said something another coworker 2 tried to find info on and the conversation went casual after. I told coworker 1 he had too big a brain that it generated it's own gravity field, no hesitation or grin, fully serious Example 2: one of my fit coworkers was in the office and a conversation was about exercising. I "trashed talked" him saying by saying he's in great shape and adding that I meant it as an insult. When he asked how it was an insult I told him I don't know and it's up to him to figure it out and I use my brain only to think "logically" not to think explanations. Example 3: through convoluted "logic" I called another coworker "bearboxer" as someone who regularly goes fistfighting bears and gaining a reputation among them that most bears are scared to box with him. All as DSP said silly and goofy (and technically trash talking/insults because I say "because I said so" with totally straight face). We all get a laugh and good times are had. The key is to know when such jokes are appreciated (flowing conversation, not super focused on work) and never to overstay your welcome (it's SUPER important to go for variety and not so say the same old joke over and over). DSP can't be "goofy" for the life of him and him overstating the SAME joke over and over with only himself fake laughing at it grinds my gears as someone at least somewhat entertaining. In summary: DSP is shit comedian, can't sell his jokes and he sounds fake as hell laughing at his own jokes (something you can't do, you must wait until others are laughing at least)

It is absolutely amazing how he can shoot down every suggestion he gets and thinks he's doing a good job. Also, he's really defensive about showing any sort of weakness; Yet, he'll feign distress constantly... won't wear glasses because he's not a nerd (his words) nor does he want to acknowledge he's aging, yet it's a full-on pity party when he needs to wear a vest or hat, because he's overheating playing a video game in a climate-controlled condo that he owns and can change the conditions of.
But, as usual, he'll admit it in passing that he hates his tips goals and hates putting on clothes and that he resents his audience for reminding him, among other reasons.

DSP took it as an insult and said he doesn't wanna look like a nerd and then said he can see the TV fine, but the gunnar glasses help his eyes from not being as tired, but he doesn't need them.

I hate it when Phil says "what everyone does". Usually that's not the case at all, and many times Phil is doing something a lot of creators do but in a totally different and worse way. Finally, just because everyone does something doesn't make it acceptable, good entertainment, or not off putting.
Maybe now I'm talking out of my ass but I have an advice for "shit talking" (though full disclosure I go more for the entertainment kind, aka full clown mode, rather than the tough guy or toxic DSP does): use of exaggeration is your friend here, also proper use of deadpan can be useful too. With the exaggeration you can set immiedatelly the comedy front and center and really obviously, deadpan and fully serious while saying outright batshit crazy things.
Example 1: in work my coworker 1 said something another coworker 2 tried to find info on and the conversation went casual after. I told coworker 1 he had too big a brain that it generated it's own gravity field, no hesitation or grin, fully serious
Example 2: one of my fit coworkers was in the office and a conversation was about exercising. I "trashed talked" him saying by saying he's in great shape and adding that I meant it as an insult. When he asked how it was an insult I told him I don't know and it's up to him to figure it out and I use my brain only to think "logically" not to think explanations.
Example 3: through convoluted "logic" I called another coworker "bearboxer" as someone who regularly goes fistfighting bears and gaining a reputation among them that most bears are scared to box with him.
All as DSP said silly and goofy (and technically trash talking/insults because I say "because I said so" with totally straight face). We all get a laugh and good times are had. The key is to know when such jokes are appreciated (flowing conversation, not super focused on work) and never to overstay your welcome (it's SUPER important to go for variety and not so say the same old joke over and over). DSP can't be "goofy" for the life of him and him overstating the SAME joke over and over with only himself fake laughing at it grinds my gears as someone at least somewhat entertaining.
In summary: DSP is shit comedian, can't sell his jokes and he sounds fake as hell laughing at his own jokes (something you can't do, you must wait until others are laughing at least)
